Best Romantic lyricist-VM or Vaalee or budding young talents.

IMO, I do consider the lyrics of a song has equal role to play in the songs as music does.
Many lyric writers has contributed to TFM not ot forget kanndasan,pattukottai kalyana sundaram and many more.
In today's world(keeping in mind ppl who can write quality stuff for ARR harris, IR, SAR) , who do you think offers best lyrics for romantic songs-vaalee or VM or the new talents.

IMO I love VM a lot esp the lyrics of kannalane(BOMBAY)

from vidai kodu engal naade(KM the following lines

  btw, isn't the song moongililai kaadugaLae muththumaNi maegangaLae poonguruvikkoottangaLae vaarungaL by VM? Man it makes u to feel that u r in ooty/kodai. wonderful lyrics, superb rendition(SPB) and superb music (chandrabose?).

  sure u ppl shd have read this poem
  'atrai thingal avV vennilanilavil'--which is two daughters of KING PARI singing in grief about their lost father and kingdom.It goes like this, last full moon we had our father and our beautiful kingdom, but now after the invasion we left with nobody to care for us.
  I feel this lines is being used by many TFM lyric writers including KD,VM,Vaalee in many movies.

  there is one line 'nee kattum selai'-from pudhiya mannargal
  'nee vetti vetti podum nagathil kutti kutti nilavu theriyu thadi' by palani bharathi
  
  at times i even feel that these new comers are far better than VM -who writes
  'kotta paakUM
  kolunthu vaetha laiyUUm

  Valli is the most talented poet in the cinefield. He started his career with Kannadhasan still rules. I heard when Rahuman coposed one tune and asked VM to write lyrics for that. He spent hours and couln'd do it. Rahuman rang Vali. He came and wrote the song in minutes. Song was " Maya Matchendra Matchappakkam Vantheera" in Indian.
  But don't say that new comers are better than VM. Starting career is not a big deal. Standing steady among this competetive field is more important.

  One more to Valee -- "Madurayil Parantha Meen kodi" -- from "Poova thalaiya". "Ore Naal Unai Naan Nilavil" -- Ilamai Oonjalaadugirathu. Infact all the songs in IO were written by Valee.

  VM should not be compared with any of the past or present Lyricists. This guy is a disguise to cinema industry. Guy who gets pretty much gets all his songs (rather literary works) done by his wife (Ponmani vairamuthu).
  The worse part his -- He calls himself "kaviyarasu" and "Kavipperarasu".

  New comes are more towards showing their talents than fitting for the situation. For eg "Un samayalaraiyil naan uppa sarkaraiya" song is very nice and interesting. But it is not at all romantic without the support of music. Recently I saw a lyrics of some new movie (by recent lyricists). God save cinema lyrics(verum aduku mozi).
  
  VM can do well. But he is much much in to eating the lover. I feel he prefers wildness to romance.
  
  Among the existing lyricists, Vali is the best to write to romantic lyrics.

  I think Pa vijay is doing a good job, his song Aanadam Penukkule from Junior Senior is very romantic as well as Naan oruvan, which although being small still emotes great love feelings.
