I remembere reading in newspaper that AYYAN was Raja's 900th movie (when it was launched). But this movie left in cans and other few movies that started after this one got released. but yes, one of the 2010th release got to be the 900th (thats straight forward

)

I too agree with you VS when you say only straight films constitute 909..Curious to get the actual list..

Read somewhere that HeyRam was 786th Movie so Ramana 700th is not possible

1990 அக்டோபரில் ஒருநாள் புதிதாக நல்ல பாடகிகள் யாருமே வருவதில்லை என்று இளையராஜா பாடகர் ஜெயசந்திரனிடம் ஆதங்கம் தெரிவிக்க, அவருக்கு மின்மினியை அழுத்தமாகப் பரிந்துரை செய்தார் ஜெயசந்திரன். உடனடியாக அழைத்து வருமாறு சொன்னார் இளையராஜா. ஜெயசந்திரன் மினியின் அப்போதைய இசைக்குழுவான ஸி .ஏ. ஸியின் அலுவலகத்தில் இதைத் தெரிவித்தார். ஆனால் தங்களின் முக்கியப் பாடகியை இழக்க மறுத்த அவர்கள் இத்தகவலை மினியிடம் சொல்லவே இல்லை!

சிலமாதங்களுக்குப்பின் இதை தெரிந்தபோது மினியால் நம்பவே முடியவில்லை. கடைசியில் 1991 ஜனவரி 22ஆம் தேதி சென்னையில் இளையராஜாவின் பிரசாத் ஸ்டுடியோவுக்குள் மினி நுழையும்போது அங்கு நூற்றுக்கணக்கான இசைக்கருவிகளூக்கும் இசைக்கலைஞர்களுக்கும் நடுவில் நின்று அவரது ஆதர்சப் பாடகி ஆஷா போன்ஸ்லே பாடிக்கொண்டிருந்தார். ’பனிவிழும் மாலையில் பழமுதிர்ச் சோலையில்’.. மீரா படத்தின் பாடல். அது கனவா நிஜமா என்று தெரியாமல் வாய் பிளந்து நின்றுபோன மினியிடம் ஒரு பாடலை பாடிக்காட்டும்படி சொன்னார் இளையராஜா. ஒருமணிநேரத்துக்குள் மினி மின்மினியாக மாறினார்! ஆஷா போன்ஸ்லே நின்ற அதே இடத்தில் நின்று கொண்டு அதே படத்துக்காக பாடினார்.. ‘லவ் என்னா ல்வ்வு..’

Well said venkki!. Thanks Nerd for sharing this great video. Thorougly enjoyed it. Overwhelmed by the authority Raja has over music. Very sharp and authoritative. I could see that in every musicians face there. He is the last link between the oldest of old and the newest of new.!
