The first song that Kannadasan wrote for MGR was in Marmayogi- Kannin Karumaniye Kalavathi sung by TL. TL was also the first to sing as playback singer in Tamil films.It was again Rajakumari of MGR Movie. Dear RV,Asaiye Alaipole is in Thai Piranthal Vali Pirakkum. MSV has used TL well in Vaira Malai and Pasavalai. KVM has used him well in Town Bus and Nalu Veli Nilam and Vannakili. Chalapathi Rao has used him in Punar Janmam. Although he was very much appreciated by G. Ramanathan he was not given that many chances. It is too unfortunate that he did not last too long with many MDs, perhaps owing to changin times and taste of cinema. He could not be identified with any particular actor for playback singing.
