Friends

Before I announce the participants and the eventual winners, I would like to 
do a quick analysis of the quiz, so that we can all have some fun. :-))

All in all there were eight entries, but the total number of participants were 
13. Let^Òs hope there will be more encouraging entries in future.

Some of the answers were interesting, some downright funny. :-))

On my part, I admit I made some mistakes. Also, some of the clues were not 
clear. Quoting one respondent, ^Ómaya kannan topic enrathaale, clues kooda 
konjam mayama thaan irukku!^Ô 
I am grateful to all who have been magnanimous. Or too kind. :-))

Some people even claimed that their knowledge of puraanam has increased after 
this quiz! :-))

In the end, I think the questions 10 and 24 stumped many people.
No. 10 is a beautiful song by Chitra, music Deva, urging peace instead of 
warfare. Must be a situational song in the movie. Kaalai velaiyil Krishna 
kaatrinil kuzhal ketkindren.
A couple of people made a good guess in Kaatroadu kuzhalin naathamey, which 
incidentally is similarly sung with intense feelings.
Apparently, not many people have heard the UnniKrishnan Anuradha Sriraam duet, 
Sethu Maadhavaa unnai serththu anaikkavaa. Good sentimental, well written 
lyrics, this one.

For the song Sriranga ranga nathanin paatham vandhanam seiyadi, the clue was 
^ÓAnnaalil Chola mannargal aakki vaithanar aalayam^Ô
Respondent:   Ithu enna paattaa, illai 6th standard history bookaa?
BTW, this song was a red herring, in the sense it didn^Òt fit 100% with the 
theme. But most people came out with flying colours.

Although the Sangamam song, Maarghazhi thingal allava, is fairly recent, most 
people got it right.
However some people were confused with the clue which mentioned kolam, prayers 
and one respondent duly gave the answer as ^ÓVelli kizhamai vidiyum velai^Ô.

With songs such as Kannan mugam kaana kaathirundhaal oru maadhu among the 
answers, it looked like some people even resorted to fill-in-the-blanks, from 
the 1997 compilation of List of Kannan songs. :-))

I had a great time reading some responses from a pazhaya anbar. Being the good 
sport he is, I am sure he won^Òt mind my sharing some of them with the rest of 
you:
