Sindhubhairavi never sounded more enchanting than in "kalaivaNiyo raNiyo". SPB seemed to relish every word sung. Beautiful flute and strings in the interludes.

    Happiness by Sunil Malhotra

I’m here with my new beat and it’s the first time that I’ve structured it like a song i.e. placing interludes, hence it’s my longest piece till date. I hope you enjoy it. I usually do try my best but when making this, I personally felt it’s one of my better works. I would appreciate some feedback and please PM me if you feel it could’ve been better.

kannukkum kannukkum mOdhal from ninaikka theridhe manamE - ignoring the cheesy 'smile please' start, when a solo instrument like a lead guitar leads the song with the tune ..it is surely a good sign the racy strings immediately behind deceive a very low key suave singing by KJY. wow.. this guy can sound so stylish ..when he sings ennanna inbam vaazhga vaazhgavE .. you know the strings are not far behind. KJY pushes to the higher octaves as only he could do .. the strings vanish as discreetly as they entered.. The interlude breaks into a stylish reedy sax..with reference to kavignar the pallavi's are much more classy than the start lines of the pallavi. I recently mentioned vairamuthu specializing in romance lyrics.. this one is not bad with lines like புருவக்கொடிஎடுத்து பருவப் படையெடுத்து ஜெயித்திடும் இனமே ...... தோற்றாலும் நானே ராஜா etc. The lyrics is credited to kaamakodiyan.. Wonder what other songs has he done. Got to post this before starting work

What a coincidence, I was about to post the same thought today after having 'en iniya pon nilAvE' on loop in the car

The way he sings the lines
    நினைவிலே புது சுகம் தருறு தத்த தா
    தொடருதே தினம் தினம் தருறு தத்த தா

    is simply awesome!

Especially the எள்ளல் சுவை with which he belts out that "தருறு தத்த தா" - WOW!

    Hi Kiru

A rare song, among the songs that KJY have rendered for Mohan. I love all the factors about this song, the singing style, the lyrics as u mentioned, very creative. I heard this song in one of the Raagamalika episode, my heart races as KJY goes manikka teeve...vazhga vazhgave... splendid... thank you for reminding it again

    Vedham nee iniya naadham nee
Semi-classical songs: one category where, IMO, the kerala naattu periyavaals (raveendran, dakshinamoorthy swamigal, etc) have a slight upper hand over their TN counterparts. This song, though, can potentially triumph over any heavyweights in a bout – a brahmaastram of sorts from the man.
