Sujatha's kaalai paniyil voice is almost same as oru iniya manathu. I remember reading somehwhere that Sujatha has sang in Johny too. Vidhya kodutha linkleyum mention paNNi irukkaanga. inthapAttAthAn irukkanumnu nenekkiREn.

Thanks Ganesh - ithukkuthAn naalum therinjavanga vEnumgrathu :P I was listening to en vaanilE and oru iniya now and I could feel the difference. I also listened to kaalai paniyil - oru iniya manathu is Sujatha. Neenga solRa mAthiri Jency version'um irukkunnu nenekiREn.

"Oru iniya manadhu" was definitely sung by Sujatha - atleast the version in the movie. If you intently listen to the song you would be able to notice the resemblence to Sujatha's voice of today.

"Kaalai paniyil" form Gayathri was also sung by Sujatha.

Another nice number of Sujatha during that period was "Kaadhal Oviyam" from the movie Kavikuyil. But "Chinna Kannan azhaikiraan" became more popular because it was rendered by Balamuralikrishna (one of the two versions). However the "Kaadhal Oviyam" is a lovely melody number.

ajeesh sang ok. ranjani sang well i thought. somedays she sounds even better than Renu
vijay wth they gave the keyboard to him looks like they choose different group of ppl than the ones who got music system in one of the prev rounds (guess ravi/renu/prasanna got that ) - other than that i cannot think of any reason for such a choice
prasanna - wonderful feel from a long time, i feel that they are trying to eliminate him coz of his age
