The Deer Hunter (more as a performance, and the relationships between the characters after Vietnam. Go a bit easy on one-dimensional Vietcong soldiers.),
    Awakenings (Suffers from Encephalitis Lethargica),
    The Mission (Irons and Deniro),
Angel Heart (watch out for Rourke here),
Bertolucci's Novecento (Depardieu and Deniro as friends who became rivals for their extremities in economic (and hence political) spectrum),
DiPalma's Hi, Mom! (One of the early DiPalma who engaged in Hitch and interesting themes)
King of comedy (one of his finest roles. Nevermind a rare comedy figure in his oeuvre),
A light-hearted "road" comedy in "Midnight run" isn't necessarily a uber-performance, but eminently watchable.

Thanks aNNA. I got The Deer Hunter and King of Comedy as well. Didn't know they were of De Niro. again.

Watched 'Once upon a time in the west'. Best western ever. Also, the opening sequence and the soundtrack (obviously Morricone) are one of the finest. Superlatives are equated to this combo.

Which one? With Walken and Russian Roullette? Long time since I've seen it.

I have most of his pre-2000 films. Most early days of VCD collection. The latest I got was The Last Tycoon DVD (only one where he appeared with Jack Nicholson).
