    Madhu,
Jency and Jollee are both from Ernakulam, they are distant cousins, definitely not siblings. Jollee shifted to Chennai way back in the early 70s. Now he has a recording studio and is busy singing with his children Rohith and Reshma.

Sujatha lost her mother when she was two and was spotted early by Dasettan. Her better half Dr.Mohan is an alumnus of Stanes school which is in kovai.

    Sn_Saradhaa,
seeing you posting in tremendous detail in the Surendar thread, I was fooled by your initials and thought you must be SN Surendar's daughter!
    Dear hhhwalrus....

Good informations about Jency and Sujatha....

I am not the daughter of S.N.Surendhar
But one among the very few 'abimaanis' for him, because of his different voice, not matching with any other singers.

Same like you, in olden days many fans were thinking that, M.N.Rajam is the own sister of M.N.Nambiar.

    Dear All,

Yesterday, I saw one programme in Surya TV where Jency was the special guest and she sang some songs including the song...

ENNUYIR NEE DHANAY... The sweet voice was still intact !

She was very gentle and polite.

She was all praise for IR .

    Missing Jency's voice today...............

    Yes Balaji....

Still the same 'Idhayam poguthey'...voice with her, which will suit for the present heroines also.

I dont know, why Ilaiyaraja ignored (and still ignoring) the beautiful voice, still he is in peak, or atleast his sons.

Shall we have to hear the same 25 songs, repeatedly..??

    Dear Saradhaji,

When one hears the song... Idhayam pogudhey...... one's heart will be pained.... Jency sang that one extremely well.. Manadhai uruga vaikkum paadal......

The success rate of Jency was almost 100 % but I wonder wonder wonder........
May be in the 80s the generation of Radha, Ambiga, Amala, Revathy, Madhavi ..... for them SJ's voice was better suited and Jency faded away.....

Sujatha lost her *dad* when she was 2 years old (not mom).

There was in interview with Jency in Anandha Vikatan sometime back. She said she decided to get married and go back to Kerala when she was getting lots of good chances. It seems even IR had advised her then to stick on to her profession. She says that now, since she her 2 children have grown up, she would like to take up singing again but is 'scared' to go back to IR since she had gone against his advice.

I think Jency's style of singing was very normal and bland. But it had some specialness and almost all the songs she was offered were great melodies and therefore went on to become hits.
