Now to specific concerns;
I wish I can quote like in the new TFM DF *grin*, anyway,
vijay,
> If login to newtfmpage is really mandatory.
no, not if you just want to view. I hope you read the FAQ completely.
> Moderation in newtfmpage became difficult mainly because anyone could start a thread without permission.
This is just the tip of the iceberg.

BB certainly deserves credit for bringing the best in SOTD and SOTD is THE thread that changed the face of newtfmpage in a significant way.The catalyst & flagship of change gone to Dhool?Auditla iruntha dhosham, sandhegam en udan pirappu!enna aachu?hmmm...
Good luck BB.Keep up the good work!
All the best to RR. The new look is very impressive.

C~P,
> So my choice is...
> Current Layout + Registration + Some data > retrieval mechanism
The new site is entirely database driven unlike the current flat html data. So it's possible (theoretically), and we'll consider the suggestion.

Change , being the only constant seems to be inevitable and let us welcome it though it might take some time atleast for me to get used to it. My wish is that TFMP and dhool maintain the high standard which they have set and it is in our hands . Let the new look and feel not be bandwidth hungry.

Iam also for the current layout with login and better search features...
i think phpbb is ok for small forums uploading movies and music. It is definitely not for newtfmpage.so many threads are being discussed every day.
The current newtfmpage.com/forum had around 200 links on the front page.2 clicks and iam on the page where i want to be.i dont think u can do that with phpbb.
but i guess its 2 late to discuss that.

RR, having the alternate viewing mode which retains the current design/style is a good feature, atleast for some of us old-timers. I hope that, eventually, the only difference all this change would mean to me is that I would have 2 separate bookmarks(for dhool SOTD and newtfmpage) instead of having just one all these days. Good luck in your new ventures.

Guys,
in reply to BB's post, i have suggested of making SOTD a web service ( If you dont know what web service is - more like centralized content for different sites exchanged through XML. ) May be the new newtfmpage can use that too so instead of having bunch of SOTD around we all have one which we can view in different sites. For more info please read

RR, for a new generation of dfers, i think the new site may look enticing. But, it looks very cluttered with every confusing typefaces, graphicst, etc...
personally, this present whitespace looking forum pages are very friendly looking and comfy for oldtimers like me here. i have visited a few discussion sites recently and almost all look cluttered and confusing as your new proposed looking site. to say the least, they look menacing and geeky. tfmers are so far i have seen despite my pseudo characterisitc postings, are all fun and non-nerdy or unpretentious types, that means a simple unclutterable layout.
i wish you the Best.

as I said, an alternate simple, uncluttered view (just like the current one) will be available soon.

I couldn't help but take a bow, with so many people praising the current TFM DF. Thank you guys. :D.
But it is time to move on. If I had the time I would certainly love to design all the backend support that phpbb provides with the our current simple front end. I guess RR has taken that up. Let us see how it pans out.

Happy to see newtfmpage buidling up in strength. Of late I notice the site has been painstakingly enriched by knowledgeable contributors. The site is slowly shaping as a one stop center for information and inspiration to lovers of Tamil film songs and music. Keep up the merritorious contribution.

Dhananjay: I believe the audio version of SPB's interview will be available soon in dhool.com. BB is working on cleaning up the version to remove recording glitches/noises etc.

Manisekaran Sir
Nice to see you in TFM after a long time. How are you?
We will be enriched by your valuable contributions.

Dearest Sathya Kabali,
Thank you. I am fine. I had to write a few books, and am making make frequent overseas trips, and so had to "painfully" keep out of newtfmpage. I dare not start something as I am always on the move. See the number of breaks I took on KVM article.
I find new contributors and more fans. Where are old contributors like Rajaram, Sathya Keerthi, Kanchana and bones" Still active? If you are in tocuh with Bones, please tell him I miss his witty inputs on my articles, especially relating to G Varalechumy. Old momories evoke many thoughts.
SOTD section seems to have improved very much.
With so much articles already archived, newtfmpage Team could even think of publishing books, after careful editing.
Congratulations again.

Manisekaran Sir,
Welcome back. Thank you for the kind words. With your wishes and contributions we will make greater strides in our next phase. Some of the old contributors are very much active.
Publishing books is an interesting idea and we have to explore it. Look forward to more suggestions from you in that regard.

Dear Manisekaran sir,
Thanks very much. Without contributions from gurus like you, we wouldn't have come this far.
I'm still around though not to the extent before, due to my personal commitments. But I think it's changing. :) I hope we together can revive the old times.
As for the book, we did try on some sort of 'TFM aandu malar' but didn't get started. As you mentioned, I think the publishing books idea should be taken up again. I echo Ravi, we look forward to your inputs.

Since this seems like the olden days, I would like to join the party too. :)
It has been ages since I posted in these pages and I am sure many of those posting here these days would say "huh" to my nick. :)
Anyway, nice to see Sathya Kabali (how are you getting on my dear? With memories of Radio 6? :))
I have been in touch with many of the old-timers including Ravi & RR (old-timers as in this Forum, not chronologically!) and also with Manisegaran (who is now through this forum, invited officially to my house for Deepavali!)
Ah! Those good old days. Kanchana, Sathya Keerthi, Bones, Bhaskar, Sree, Udhaya, Srikanth, and so many others. (Forgive me if I left out any names - I am getting older) :)
These very people were the ones who initially laid the path that TFM Discussion Forum later grew upon.
I think I may speak for many when I say that we may not be posting here but that does not mean that TFM Pages didn't leave a mark upon us. In fact I have made many good friends through these very pages and have been fortunate enough to meet several of them personally. (avunga avunga kashtta kaalam. :))
Somebody stop me remininscing please! :)
Lastly, thank you TFMPages for hosting several radio programmes related activity in Malaysia through both Radio 6 and THR. Programmes that captured a (surveyed) 1.2 million audience!
As TFMPages takes this step into a new era, let me congratulate the TFM Admin, mainly RR and Ravi and all those who contributed to its development including bb and the very many contributers, gurus, posters, comedians (like me), bashers, promoters, etc, etc alike.
You have made a difference in our lives!
