SO BABA IS A FLOP?!

barring all barriers, there is an universal report that BABA IS A FLOP. not just from laymen, even his ardent fans are absolutely unhappy with the film. spiritual leaders and severe religious people are angry with rajini. For people who beleived that rehmanis going to be the sving grace, he was the greatest disappointment. There is no commitment or seriousness in his music. Pls read reviews in Anandha vikatan and Kumudham. Nice to know that the press is bold to express their views. Anyway for the sake of clippings, movie rights and votes SUN TV will place it at no 1 in all countdowns for the next one year. But what we want to know as ardent rajini fans is : RAJINI SIR, ARE YOU REALLY HAPPY ABOUT THE OUTCOME OF THE MOVIE? DID YOU KNOW THAT THIS IS WHAT IS COMING OR YOU ALSO FEEL BETRAYED AND CHEATED?

  12 years is too long a period for IR.
  Nah i am not confusing music with recording quality, I listen to Yeh rishta for music and softness in it mainly, while Gundumalli, the music is typical IR and the recording quality is neither good too.
  So arr always had a good team and IR never had such a team? Hey friend, first let him make music like that of taal or dilse, you say he's great, then good teams will come to him automatically.
  Ya so the BGM of heyram is good enough for IR to stand a life time, while 2-3 flops for ARR before AE means a dip - ha ha ha.
  
  # You can see IR's knowledge in his music. ARR is an intelligent composer but he doesnt possess the knowledge that IR has. Maybe, he has but he is yet to prove it. Whether you accept it or not, that's the fact.
  Just look at the credentials of both composers and you will know what it means.
  In hindi dont even bring IR, ARR could achieve what no tamil composer has achieved. He had the variety.
  
  In tamil, IR may know more grammar but that doesnt help, the ability of produce good tunes keep it fresh does matter, having reasources from utilizing them is a different skillset. IR does give great tunes but he is too inconsistent and ARR is definetly more consistent.

  ARR and IR are both gems of tamil film music..should never compare them both....... both are masters of their own class..comparing both is like comparing a tiger and an elephant(dont ask me who is who again............ :) )
  
  cho, in my view, IR dipped a bit during Rahman's victory run in the late 90's although it is not bcoz he lost innovations or creativity...and more to do with his unliking for losing the no.1 place.. now he is more matured, he is back to form..this is my humble opinion.........

  Why should IR make music like Taal or dilse? apparam IR copy adichuttar endru solvadarkka?. IR is very much capable of doing that kind of music but he won't and he shouldn't bcos that's not his style. Tunewise these movies didn't have anything special (hum the tune without music and you will know). Just the beats, synths and recording quality satisfied the listeners. ARR is very much aware of that and that's what he is doing most of the time.. IR is not into techno beats and synthesizers.. He doesn't want to compromize by getting into that area...though he tried once or twice before. YSR does that but IR wont and shouldn't.
  
  Hey Ram is only an example. The are so many movies worth mentioning for IR's great BGM work. ARR just an album producer! His songs from one movie can be used in other movie bcos they dont have a context. That's what makes him to produce music that would satisfy both southies and northies. His producers and directors also think the same way which is an advantage for ARR. Except for Manirathnam's movie, he doesn't do music for the situation. He just delivers what is demanded by the movie.. He doesn't think about marketting his songs while doing his music nor does he worry whether the song will be a hit or not while composing. IR's songs are tied to the situation. Gundumalli is not a great song but that's what he must have felt good enough for the situation.. There is nothing more to comment on this song.
  
  I once again reiterate. IR's knowledge in music is unparralled. ARR is an intelligent composer but he is yet to prove a lot. He should first come of out this dream world fantasy music producion, start using traditional instruments and produce albums that has indian nativity. Until he does that, comparing IR and ARR's music is just like comparing 'full kalayana sappadu' with pizzas and burgers... You know where is the scope for showing variety... IR has shown all kinds of varieties already. It's so funny when people say that he has failed.
