  Subbu, Manikka padhumaikku kannikkai is from the film Neethi Devan- Music by KVM
  
  Raghu, the song Kaadhal polladhu (SPB,PS and KSC) is a great song. Hope you get to hear it soon.
  
  BTW, there is another interesting combination of 4 singers in the song 'Naane un kaadhali' from the film Dhaayam Onnu- Music by Illayaraja. It is sung by Mano, PS, Chitra and Swarnalatha! Have you heard it?

  Saravana, dhayam onnu (by Arjun right??), was with four or five heroines incl. Most of teh songs by PS. One song by PS wasa repeated twice in hat movie. Any clue of the starting line ?

  Yes, Raj is right- it is Manathile oru pattu- superb song- slow and melodious!

  OISG, that memorable song is from Aval thandha Uravu- yes, music by MSV. It is a superb song, which only SPB could have rendered so feelingly.
  (However I don't care much for that 'O o remember o my darling, remember' bit!). Nevertheless, the saranam - Nadana saalaigalil malayin solaigalil, nadhiyin orangalil, idangal irukkindrana --is spellbinding.
  
  I think the film starred Muthuraman and Saradha.
  
  BTW, there's a great song by PS in the same film- Manjal itta nilavaaga- with Muthuraman telling the saranams in prose form and PS singing it!

  OISG, as Nagarajan has rightly pointed out, Vellai kamalathile aval veetriruppal is an enchanting song from Gowri Kalyanam- music by MSV.
  Its a Bharathiar song on Goddess Saraswathi, sung soulfully by Soolamangalam Rajalakshmi. It was picturised on actress Sheela.

  Note this song - from oru indhiyak-k-kanavu - 'en peyare marandhu pona' - SPB and VJ - lyric by Vairamuththu. It is beatifully tuned for the pre written lyrics.
  
  In one of the interviews, Vairamuththu has told that he recd a call from director Komal Swaminathan (director or oru indhiya-k-kanavu) that MSV has tuned for one of his lyrics and asked him to come to the recording theatre.
  He could not understand first, but Vairamuthtu could understand that one of his pudhu-k-kavidhai is used for the film and has come nicely, 'en peyare....'
  
  
  Another beatufiul tune for one more puduk-k-kavidhai by Vaalee - 'unnai enakku pidiththirukkiradhu' from Poikkaal Kudhirai, by MSV.

  Yes, Nagarajan, En peyare is indeed a superb song- it starts off with SPB's "Anamika, Anamika" and then VJ sings En peyare enakku marandhu pona indha vanandharathil--beautiful- and the beat keeps changing, and the lines are so refreshing- paruvakaalangalaal pushpikkatha en thottam--amazing!   There is a LR Anjali/ Pushpalatha version of "Naan Aanayittal" is there in this movie.The lyrics ..slightly modified..right?

  OISG, you're right- it is Pushpalatha who sings that take-off on Naan anai ittal in Kanmani raja.
  Pushpalatha used to sing for child artists in the 70s. (In Kanmani Raja too, she sang for the child who acted as the son of Sivakumar and Lakshmi). Other songs by her - Ammamma from Rajapart Rangadurai, which you have pointed out and also one song in Anbai thedi- I think it is Ammavum Appavum ( sung for the girl who played the daughter of Major and Vijayakumari). She also hummed in Jayachandran's first song in tamil- Thangasimizh pol- from Manippayal. There may be some more songs too by her. I'll post them when I remember.

  OISG, the Manippayal song was not for a child- it was love duet by Jayachandran and Pushpalatha(humming)-picturised on AVM Rajan and I think, Jayanthi. Reg. Anbai thedi, Chithira mandabathil is a duet, but Pushpalatha's song was for the child who, as I said, played the daughter of Major and Vijayakumari.Sivaji plays Vijayakumari's brother in the film.
  Ponukkenna Azhagu is a duet from En Magan.-TMS-PS.
