Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....
Also; use this thread to discuss this album..
Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears thanks to emails and discussion groups to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh and ergo, inexpensive faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

I rung the music dealer in Australia MKS INTERNATIONAL( I live in New Zealand), and asked if he had the audio for BOYS, he was SO RUDE to me,pretty much cut me off and said try again in 2 weeks. Isn't the movie coming out in 2 weeks ? If anyone is Aussie get their hands on "Boys" can you mail me the store info.
It's so amusing to see so many people vouching for this Album to be a flop,taking the time and energy to collect every possible means of knocking this album down even before it's release.
During these troublsome times where the TAMIL film industry is suffering, do you guys forget that alot of blood, guts and sweat have gone into these productions, it's not just a one man show here,everyone involved goes down tooo.
The sad thing here is that you guys have already decided ( so you think !) the fate of the music.
End of the day, your crys, my views, it ain't gonna matter. Tamilians are well know for their "TALL POPPY SYNDROME"

Don't come hear and talk crap man...U think if you mention Malaysia, the facts won't be verified. I am from KL and I travel to all states as I am a pharmaceutical sales manager..don't make sweeping statements like as if only ARR music made all those effects....Of course the Chinese and Malays have no music taste of any for themselves, as they are all practically consumed by western music...so of course if someone comes with western influenced music they will definitely reach these Chinese and Malay tasteless souls...avangalaam oru rasigangalnu vanthutaan enge....muttaapayale!!

boys sample songs are nothing in comparison with the uyirin uyirae song. HJ rulez, man! He brought a new trend with this song. It΄s rocking everywhere in our country (like the song thakka thaiya from dil se earlier).
Boys just sucks!It will be a flop and ARR lost his magic...just because of the fact that i didnt have the powerfull feeling which i had when i heard the kaake kaake samples in the boys samples

I think shankar will implement a reserve your casette system for BOYS and the best time to do it would be on July 15 bcoz then he can delay it to Jul 28, like Baba......and we all know what happened after that....

Hey keep cool guys. Let people who have nothing else to do in life say anything about Rahman. There is no medicine for jealosy , you see. This "Crab-Syndrone" seems this much predominant among tamilians only. They dont want to see another fellow tamilian move up in life. But whatever anyone say or write even a thousand times, the fact remains that ARR is the most successful/popular musician in the history of Indian music.
And, ofcourse, Boom Boom and Girl Friend rocks big time. :)

They showed Muthu the other day on TV and I wondered how ARR could get away with such a mediorce soundtrack. The movie was a success. Now the same thing is happening. Saamy from HJ is mediorce but it's very successful. I also remember the time when Vidyasaagar was doing great music but nobody cared about him. It was ARR or nothing. Now, i feel happy for the other music directors. ARR - Go back to North India - You are obsolete in Tamil Nadu... Boyz is Parasuram 2.

Even if that statement about the musical tastes changing after Roja is true (which may be a gross generalization of some casual observance by the writer) - does it really matter how people in Malaysia react. It is one of the SE asian countries. It is not if as it is the USA.
