Well,
It see,s E20 U18, is the current no, in terms of audio sales!
Strange isnt it , with new star cst, a new director, considering e20u18 doing good audio sales itself is an achevement.
Shows how good the songs are!
Well, for you guys questioning my source; please go read city express ( free supplement of indian express) on page two it gives a list of no selling albums. E20 U18 is leading.
For any one who wants to say this paper supports arr , thezeeb isnt in the top 3 hindi albums!

Last time it was boyz, now it is whatever, whenever an ARR album releases why is it that everybody tells it is the best-seller.. dont u think it is just over-hyped, something is missing..
btw i like 2 songs in E20U18..
Just a opinion..
Good != Gr8

Are you crazy about A.R.Rahman?

All the fans who were upset that AR Rahman had forgotten Tamil cine industry, have a good news awaiting them.
Three films with AR Rahman’s music are going to be released in the month of December. Happy?
Music cassettes of Bharatiraaja’s ‘Kangallal Kaidhu Sei’, which has ARahman as the music director, will be released in the first week of December. This will be followed by the songs of SJ Surya’s ‘New’. And, it looks like Manirathnam has decided to release the songs of his film ‘Aayutha Yezhuttu’ in the month of December. The film will be released in January.
Since the releases are so closely scheduled, AR Rahman, who was the talk-of-the-town a few years ago, will be the center of attraction again.
The recently released '‘Yenakku 20 Unaku 18' audio’ is a big hit all over the state. The producer AM Rathnam claims that the film’s music had been the biggest attraction. This film too is going to be released in December.
Normally December is the season for Carnatic music. This time, it is the season for AR Rahman!.

Musicislife,
Ok let us go by ur statement, "whenever an ARR album releases why is it that everybody tells it is the best-seller" >>>> simple anwer it s best selling because it is the best around.
Its only for such stubborn guys ive given proof that this is the best selling album in town, if u cant unsderstand i repeat, go read city express thursday issue, that is the 28th of nov. too bad if ur releuctant to accept facts, in english u have a word to describe such people, its called paranoid!
Any ARR fans can rejoice, even cinesouth has said e30u18 is great. And cinesouth is not exactly favourable to arr at all times.

Music Lover...
pls. If u wanna tell something, make it logical. Spare us ur all caps crap.
Audio rights loss? The music was the only saving grace of the film. Shankar was censured. What's Rahman got to do w/ Boys being a flop?
And btw.. Boys resurrected the audio cassette sales in TFM.

From my other thread
=====
I am a Raja fan. I don't like most of ARR's recent works. But, I would like to congratulate ARR for E20U18. Particularly, I liked the song Sandhipoma(not for its lyrics). The songs reminds me of the days of Puthiya Mugham etc. of ARR. Good to see ARR do well like his early days. Well done!

Im just curious not trying to be mean or anything. I'm a big fan of all types of music especially ARR's because he brings a variety in and new things to indian music.VS and HJ follow his fotsteps pretty much. Whereas what i like abt IR he brings in the same style, along with YSR-but he brings new things once in awhile.
My question is do IR fans prefer IR music becuz it doesnt change much thruout his works and u guys dont like ARR as much becuz it changes and u dont like d change?(this is mainly to the fanatics)

Hi Piratheepan,
I am a music fan above all. But I have to concede a simple fact that, IR's music is true reflection of this soil and its culture. When I say IR's music, I mean songs which he has composed for simple villagers and people who are in the lowest rung of society, not the pop ones for city oriented movies. Earthly movies which carry the soul of the soil. For a project like Kutty and Karuvelam pookal, still directors in Tamil Nadu will go only to Raja and that is his domain. ARR's market is city, where young hi style funky, college going youth, with 70+ watts 4 speaker systems, with equalizers have the say. ARR knows his market and Raja knows his. Still, ARR has to really make an effort in reaching out to people in theni, periya kulam ,vlathikulam and thiruvannamalai. Bcoz, no mattter how loud he can make his music for you guys, it will be always inspired from the west as the kind of music city college guys listen to is rock and pop of britney spears and kylie minogue. Sadly, whenever ARR has chosen not to take an electric guitar, he has taken the veenai or mridhangam. He should try taking up thappu, thaarai, naiyyandi melam etc. He has to go to villages and hear to the songs they sing in their daily life and document and learn from that. But will he? Coz he is busy chasing down broadway and London, or mobbed by Mumbai's under standars film world. If he is not being mobbed by those guys, then there is always"so Called Patriotic" Bala and Kanika, who are finally doing what they wanted to do all along with ARR, have him compose music for their movie(that was their intention all along? sick!!). ARR has to get out of these circles. No offense, but I will have to tell this. After 32 tracks, if he goes on adding other tracks, it will all sound the same in a tea kadai radio or thiruvizha amplifier set. Yes, it will sound cool in a Maruti zen car stereo or latest Philips hi fi sound system, which I bet most of die hard ARR fans must be in proud possession of. SO, IR's music , in spite of his Symphonies and thiruvasagams, is in within the reach of those villagers. So let us wait for ARR to finish successfully the Lord og the Rings and hope that he takes up(along with Parthiban) Elelo and goes to villages in trying to understand the music of the villages in Tamil Nadu. Somewhere I saw a thread in TFM, Deva Vs ARR. most of the comments were treating Deva as some kind of jerk. Accepted , he copies and he is frank about it. But Deva too has his touch with his roots throuh the gaana songs of city kuppams and colleges(Pachaippas had solid gaana group and I have sung in few of the gaana kutcheries in class in my brief stint there). But what are ARR's roots? and how truthful has he been to them? In the cover of Vande matharam album, he says that Bala and kanika have helped him to get away from being lost in the sea of 'film music'. Excuse me, Isn't it film music that gave him his name and fame? Isn't it tamil film music, that got him offers like Lord of the rings? Isn't it the film music that won him admiration from Fans like Piratheepan and me? I was a big fan(die hard) before Vande Matharam(Strange the same guys who took him out of the sea, have dropped him into it again). The moment I saw the cover and read those lines, I lost my regard for him. I now only have the appreciation for his music he creates. Plus ARR should also learn how to compose music for situations in films, then he would rediscover himself and would not be bored. So ARR and his die hard fans(of whom I was a member) please remember this, After 32 tracks, the novel sound that a synthesizer churns out or Mr.Adnan saami's remixed stupid voice for that matter will add up to only noise in a normal FM radio. It is the soul of the song, that counts.
Thanks,
Jaiganesh

Hey guys,
I almost forgot to mention one more thing. Dear Piratheepan sir, We do not see Sex as a bad word. It is the shameless effort of getting certified a film like Boys which had explicit scenes with a "U". would Mr.Piratheeban take his relatives or friends's son who is below 18 to this movie? Otherwise we have no taboo on this subject. contrast it with the sincerity of Bala who got the movie certified with 'A' for violence he showed in Pithamagan. What a difference in ethics. It shows that Shankar in all his glory is just another commercial crap maker with no sense of ethics. It is in a way a great relief for ARR. He does not have to work with that insensitive piece of crap called Shankar, who always wanted to sensationalize an issue and take commercial mileage out of it, without approaching it with balanced view.
