  I think it is L.R.Anjali - the third singer in nAnA pAduvathu. I think 'Thappu Thalangal' is Saritha's first movie.

  Is there any site where this song by SPB is available. It is from the late 70s. May be the movie is Panchakalyani, not sure. Could some one please post it here? The song is "Chittirappoo selai".

  By any chance do you have that song? It is a great
  SPB-MSV combination song in which SPB was given a
  lot of chance to improvise. He sings the lines

  ninaiththu pArkiRen is a classic , I sure should be able get it soon. SPB adds so much fervor in that song that no one else could imagine rendering the same song. The vocal gliding and rolling in "Rememberrrrrr....." is an absolute beauty.
  The error in misapprehension of 'ponnAna' lyrics, is out of laxness.

  SK, Rameshb, "Ninaiththu paarkiren" , if my memory serves me right, has some very interesting Jaltarang pieces and a beautiful usage of Mridangam-triple congo combo in the charaNams. SPB improvises very well throughout the song esp. in the lines "Nadiyin orangaLil idangaL irukkindrana.." and "Kadantha kaalangaLil...". Ah!!!....those were the days of SPB in full form.

  SK, did you notice that it is impossible to guess how the pallavi was going to be sung in "Margazhippaniyil" after every charaNam ? I think SPB even yoddles in the pallavi once.

  I agree with the comments you've made about those two songs. Let us
  hope that rameshb will upload ninaiththup pArkkiREn for us
  soon. In 'muththaana muththallavO' there is one more beautiful song
  by MSV and SPB..

  MSV starts off singing the song nicely, but with a 'rough' voice.
  When SPB starts off, the song becomes extremely sweet. Again, he
  improvises nicely. Remember.. kuzhalO O O O O..OOOOsai?
  Again, it has been ages since I last listened to this song.

  Interestingly, in the movie, Thengai Srinivasan (MSV sings for him)
  comes as a film music director who goes in the night to the beach
  sands and sings this song remembering his wife who has left the
  world.. and Jaiganesh (SPB sings for him), who has come from a village
  seeking a chance to sing and is also roaming around in the beach,
  listens to Thengai singing, loves the tune and starts singing it
  himself. Thengai then falls in love with Jaiganesh's voice and
  makes him a big singer.
  
  In response to a question (Kumudham, 23 March 2000) about why he is
  not the MD for any movies after 'sigaram', SPB has said..
  'melodious endrAl vaarththaiyellAm theLivA, nallA irukkaNum.
  uchcharippugaL nallA varaNum. idhukkellAm nAn romba mukkiyaththuvam
  koduppEn. AnA kAlam romba mARippOchchu. modern trend-il younger

  nAn indha kAlakkattaththukku sariyAnavan illai endru solli ennai
  odhukki vachchuttAnga endru nAn niNaikkiREn' .. and he goes on to
  say repeatedly how he strongly believes that melody and clear
  pronunciation are so very important for songs. I am very sure he
  misses the songs of the type we are talking about in the above
