Surprising! Even after 10years, ARR still a kid in BGM. Even in his latest KM, BGM lacks a lot. Especially in the scenes where the BGM need to lift the scene. Does his musical talent is LIMITED only to the songs or his CREATIVITY misses something whenever it comes to BGM or does he need MUCH MORE TIME to compose it? Yeah, i agree perceptions differ. Lets see how it goes.....

Poeple, have you heard Rajamuthirai by IR. I had the misfortune of seeing this movie on Sun TV last Saturday. It has undoubtedly the worst music ever. Even Deva could have done better. And the BGM was atrocious. And you guys complain about ARR. A hopeless film like ESK had such great music.

Peeps:
"ARR choses BigWigs becoz he feels the reach for his songs will be more"
No read my sentence...I said BigWigs choose ARR.
If you want to argue regarding why ARR chooses BigWigs, see my response to Yaaro's post in the mass appeal thread where I quoted an ARR Interview.
Since I didnt say this here, if you want, we can continue the argument (regarding this matter about ARR choosing BigWigs) in the other thread.
btw, It's amusing how u associate BigWigs with high budget movies. Look out for Boys, an example of a low-budget movie from a BigWig.
As for your other 3 questions on Sthn folk in ARR's music, his new trend, and his improvement in the last 5 years, I intend to do full justice to my response to them. So jus gimme abit of time. I'll give u worthy responses complete with examples. I'll be back later tonite or tomm same time same thread.
Meantime, I have a question tat I've wanted to ask for sometime as well...I always read many posts regarding how IR was good with folk music. Can u please enlighten me with examples of folk music by IR which covers regions outside TN? Tis qn is asked out of a true 'thirst for knowledge' about IR's work and not as a rejoinder or rebuttal or outburst of sarcasm (ahem..).
kupps:
Granted u think of Rhythm's 5 elements idea as a marketing gimmick. I jus gave it as an example of a novel idea (I personally think tat it may have been a trick to convince ARR to do the music for tat movie..by tempting him wit something diff)..
But nevertheless, tat does not change the main idea of what I was talking about.
I think u misunderstood my no4. It was not a good plot. I meant movies where one or more of the songs actually made part of the story (eg. dance performances in Sangamam, Simran's stage show in Jodi, AishRai's offer for playback singing in KK, etc).
Good stories/plots or novel ideas wud go under no.2.
Yaaro,
ur weather prediction sucks. Tat sounds like a personal attack. The weather is looking not too good on ur side of the world...

Sarat
now when i read what i had written, it does convey that impression.:-)
What i meant to say was that I found ARRs worsht song to be better than what the other guys come out with.
I am glad you realised it.
While respecting your opinion, I personally do not like some ARR songs and love some non-ARR songs, so I guess it all boils down to personal tatses.
s0
oops. sorry, my mistake ROTFL. didn't read fed up ...'s post properly.
anyway, we can argue over this to no end. but, why do you have to reply to ARR-bashing with IR-bashing? sort of conveys that you are no better than the ARR-bashers.
That's okay s0, guess I am used to this. Am competing for the most-misunderstood award in this forum. :)
As for bashing, I don't believe in Jesus's turn the other cheek, but more in the biblical, an eye-for-an-eye. :)
BTW, what is the meaning of s0 or is that a rishi ragasiyam? :)
fedup with things here
I am surprised that even Mr.Govinda (RollOverthefloor aka ROTFL) did not understand what i meant:):)
Oh, I did. You probably didn't understand my rebuttal.

are totally unwarranted.
let me not stoop to ur level and i wont make any posts further in this thread.
Kochukkaathaiyaa rasaa. :)
I know you said you won't post further in this thread, but you will still read the postings here, won't you?
Honestly, I was upset with your careless remark in one of the threads that spurred a big debate later on.
And what is with this habit of reviving older threads which has seen a lot of mud-slinging? Let us not open old wounds.

I strongly suggest you listen to following songs in telugu-ve vela varnala-sankeerthana
suvvi suvvi,laali laali-swathi muthyam
kinnerasamy vachindhamma-sitara/saagarasangamam
kadali rana -rudra veena
aamani paadave-geethanjali
what songs! There are so many other songs as well.listen to mudhal mariyadhai songs in telugu at musicindiaonline or pedharaayudu or chanti. They sound even better in telugu.IR has the maximum websites devoted to his music in telugu. His songs captured the heart of AP.I love his tamil songs even better in telugu(I have done this posting in the sincere hope that you were 'thirsting' for knowledge)they are all available in raaga.

yaaro: none of the songs you have mentioned from Telugu films would come under the "folk songs from a region different from TN" category. Merely because they have been set in Telugu doesn't mean that they belong to a different regional folk.
An example of a different regional folk would be "thaazhaiyaam poo mudichchu" by MSV.

Mr. Raja i strongly disagree with your statement that none of the songs mentioned by Yaaro fall in Telugu folk. Infact all the songs he mentioned are original telugu compositions and reflect the Telugu culture in them. They are not rehashed versions of Tamil songs. They may not be authentic Telugu folk songs in its purity but the important fact is that they strongly have the telugu base in them. I hope you can understand this. You are right about Tamil songs dubbed and sounding good in telugu does not make them telugu folk. But the above songs are all authentic telugu compostions keeping in mind the telugu culture.

RP(What a co incidence -my initials are RP too-kindred souls!)-has said what I was intending too.All were originally in telugu for telugu directors (except aamani for MR).I hope AP qualifies for a region outside TN.
//An example of a different regional folk would be "thaazhaiyaam poo mudichchu" by MSV. //-what do you mean by this?
