Remember the Music Director trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the music directors of Kamal Hassan's Alavandhaan. They seem to be missing in the Tamil scene for the last 2 years and they are doing really good in the Hindi field. They have given solid musical hits in Hindi such as; Mission Kashmir, Dil Chahtha Hai. I think they can be brought to the Tamil films again. I feel they are definitely better than Deva and a few others. I think they are the best as far as Hindi Film Music goes after A R Rahman.
I would like healthy comments who listen to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and have a fair knowledge of Hindi Film Industry.

Hey ehsaan...
as you would know..the flute...especially in south indian music...has made the music sound really wonderful...like in Sathiya and RHTDM...the flute has added an entire new essence to the song...what are your views on the flute?...mere zindagi mein aye ho...in armaan...had a mind blowing flute background...must compliment you on that amazing idea...what do you think about it??...and would there be a probability of you using it more often in the comming movies???

Hi Raghav
Thanks for your lovely comments on our music. We love to use the flute but at the same time prefer not to over use it. We work a lot with 2 flautists one is Naveen from Chennai and the other is Rakesh Chauraisa from Bombay both excellent musicians . The Meri Zindagi me flute i actually a sample of a Chinese bamboo flute which I am sure we could have done with Naveen ( he has all kinds of stuff ) but it worked well with the track and we decided to go with the sample. In our up coming soundtrack for a film called Kal Ho Na Ho we have used a lot of flute as the emotion required it there again we have used Naveen and Rakesh.
Please ignore X's statements

I have reqorded the interview of you guys on the release of Kuch na kaho...and me and all my friends here find you guys truely inspirational.
Im 14 years old from chennai...and play the keys.
Id like to take this oppertunity to ask you...which song or songs did you most enjoy making...cause we enjoyed hearing every one of them.?

hi raghav we enjoy al the songs that we make because aside of the actual music and musicality the experience of creating music is always fun and uplifting.dil chahta hai was a particularly inspiring and memorable experience because because javed saab and farhan are such fun to work with.
what style of music do u play ? what keyboards do u have ............. there is an excellent jazz pianist in chennai called Madhav Chari u must meet him.

Hi ehsaan
Well...its nice to hear you enjoy creating music...it must be a wonderful experience to see all your fans going crazy over your creation.
i just cant compose my own songs cause innevitably i get to feeling ive copied someone elses song. I have one major problem...ive never learnt how to read musical notes. I play a PSR-550...but my faivorite board is the KORG O1/w Hopefully i can buy it someday. Well...i usually play soft rock and pop instrumentals and i sequence my songs using midi and i started using ACID...neways you guys are pros at it and i just borrow the stuff from some one else. Im not able to locate ppl here with a similiar taste of music to mine so i find it hard to get into a band . Besides a keyboardist is the last guy the need. Ive not heard of Madhav Chari so i will definately go meet him now.
Neways...im looking forward to Kal ho na ho.
So whats your taste of music like ehsaan ....especaially in the western music?
I know for a fact you give a lot of importance to your bass guitar in the songs...right??
neways..
cya later

Hi Raghav compose your songs and record them and then listen back to them . It is a process of elimnation eventually you will find your sound.
I listen to all kinds of music , being a guitarist I love the blues , jazz rock and hard rock . I alos listen to film soundtracks , world music , techno and all kinds of other stuff. It is very important to listen to all kinds of stuff.

Ehsaan,
the intro of "It's time to Disco" is the most imaginative - innovative. Mix of Tabla with english chants in the intro slowly flow into Techno Pop rhythm...who sang those chants - awesome...you guys bring it back again in the 1st BGM...In the second BGM -> na dhin Din na like tabla teen taal loop, but sound is something like log drum...well done seems simple but very interestingly done. Catch you later with more appreciation on others...
Please note that this is the last one in the album that i liked:-))
Regards,
Mahati

Hi Mahahti the intro of Its The Time To Disco has been sung by Loy !!! There are no log drums but there is an organ bass which makes it sound somewhat log drum like.
Tamilian " BUY THE CD !!!! " dont download it !!!

Ehsaan,
I havent yet had a chance to listen to ur latest "Kal Ho Na Ho". But really looking forward the album. S-E-L as a whole have a lot freshness in ur music. But the one thing which seems monotonous is Shankar seems to sound the same in all ur movies, or perhaps seems to sing the same kind of songs. Just note, that I am in no way undermining the singing capability of the National award singer.
Just a honest thought!
