  Hi! I am new to this corner. I am actuaklly a Krishna song lover. Well the song "Alai Payuthey, Kanna en manam migha alaipayuthey" really fascinating.

  Alai Paayuthe is set to Kaanada ragam. That and many other wonderful saahityams on Lord Krishna are written by Oothukkadu (a village in the Tanjore Dist,Tamil Nadu) Venkata Subbier.
  
  Other famous songs by Oothukkadu venkata kavi (he's commonly known so) are : Thaaye Yasodha (Thodi), Asainthadum Mayil Onru(Simhendra Madhyamam) , Aadathu Asangathu Vaa ( Madhyamavathi),Kuzhaluthi Manamellam (Kamboji) et.c,

  If you like songs on Lord Krishna, listen to Ambujam Krishna's songs- few of the best are OdOdi vanden kanna (dharmavathi), Om namo narayana (karnaranjani), Aravinda Lochanane (neetimati)... Dont know much about the composer.

  I think Smt.Ambujam Krishna is the wife Sri.T.S .Krishna (son of the famous TV Sundaram Iyengar,founder of the TVS group in India).
  
  Guruvayur Appane Appan in Riti Gowla is also another masterpiece from the same composer.

  Some Clarifications on Songs in the "Sindhu Bhairavi" --KB Movie.
  
  The song mari mari ninne is set to Saaramathi-right . But the actual Tyagaraja Keerthanai is i Khamboji ? ( May be there is a similar song in Saaramathi too--I'm not sure)
  
  If the original Khamboji song has been tuned to Saaramathi in the movie -- It's a great job!!
  
  I wonder if there are other songs like this where the original Raaga has been changed .(I'm sure it's a great task requiring the brilliance and genius of MD's like IR ).Pls provide the info.
  
  Also if somebody has the list of Raagas of all the songs in Sindhu Bhairavi (including the small bits) , pls provide that info too.

  As regards to your query about the rag of "mari mari" - I donot know the original raag, but I am quite sure it was re-composed in saaramathi by IR.

  when i listen to 'pallaviyE charanam' which is in khamas, (oruvar vaazhum aalayam), i'm reminded of 'naadham ezhundhadhadi' which is in sreeranjani. ( gopra vasalile}..
  
  when i checked the aaraoganam/avarohanam, there were 2 swarams missing in one - which was in the other... still i wonder how they sound the same.

  Kannukku mai does not sound like hari-kaambOji to me. I can rarely find the characteristic nishaadham of hari-kaambOji. Seems to be set in shankaraabaraNam.

  What raga is the song "mudhal murai" from Sangamam. I guess it is the same as "Ye jo Zindagi hai" from 1947-Earth.

  Mudhal murai (till uyir thariththEn) sounds very similar to " raadhaa kaadhal varaadha navaneethan geetham bOthai tharaatha" (an MSV number) but I cannot make out the raagam..
