  Actually I was expecting TLOBS to win the NA....
  as KM didn't have much room for musical achievement.
  But great ARR, did his best in a movie with less than 3(5) songs...and won the NA....

  Probably these guys would have voted"o podu" as the best song to get a NA."Thitranga" to gets the award for lyrics.
  
  Try to understand the essence and emotions that the music of KM gave than its commercial success.
  
  Money does not give the best.

  The National Film Awards have landed in controversy yet again.
  
  After last year's ruckus involving Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, it is director Adoor Gopalakrishnan's turn to now raise queries about the conduct of the awards.
  
  Gopalakrishnan believes it was "improper and immoral" for director Prakash Jha to head the National Films Awards jury because the best actor award was given to Bollywood star Ajay Devgan, who is acting in Jha's film Gangajal.
  
  Devgan was adjudged best actor for his performance in Rajkumar Santoshi's Legend of Bhagat Singh.
  
  Jha headed the 23-member jury whose other members were M M Alex, K S L Swamae, film historian S Theodore Bhaskaran, Kiran Ghai, actor Mukesh Khanna, Biju Vishwanath, Manoj Tiwari, Shyama Prasad, filmmaker Arun Kaul, Nasir Mohammad, Quraishi, Saibal Chatterjee, Amitabh Parashar, critic Swapan Mullick, Sreelekha Mukherjee, Biplab Ray Chaudhuri, Oriya film-maker Nirad Mahapatra, Mrinal Kanti Das, Zoobi Amar, actor Raza Murad, journalist Rauf Ahmed, actor Dinyar Contractor and Gautam Kaul, former police officer and film critic.
  
  Jha's conduct as chairman of the National Film Awards jury was "against the very ethics of the jury," Gopalakrishnan, whose latest film Nizhalkoothu was adjudged the best Malayalam feature film at the National Film Awards, alleged.
  
  According to the director, who headed the jury some years ago, jury members have to give an undertaking that they do not have any connection with the entries screened for the awards. "If Jha suppressed the fact, it amounts to a violation of the covenant and is immoral."
  
  Gopalakrishnan said director Amol Palekar, who was to head the jury last year, did not take up the assignment because a film he had acted in was to be screened before the jury.
  
  "You ask the director of the film festival. It is not my decision to get this post," Jha told rediff.com in response to Gopalakrishnan's allegations.
  
  Refusing to discuss the controversy, the director of the well-received Damul said, "Keep the dignity and sanctity of the award. Let whatever Adoor says be published. I don't want to comment. For me the chapter is closed. Let us talk about something progressive. One week has passed since the awards were given. There are so many

  Your liking of KM music does not mean everybody dont have music sense, Read your friend Srini's Post, He says if IR fans tell the same thing, it is Arrogance, but now it became a valid healthy argument whatz up with that?
  Though I like Nenjil from KM, still cannot accept as a award winning material, i stand to say that, the competing movies for the same award were weaker than this one

  I am not a believer of 'listen-10-times-and-you-will-like-it' thing and IMO except "vellai pookkal" all other songs were average. Lyrics might have been good but tunes were quite average.

  I liked KM but its not award winning music, but one of the good albums by ARR. The album also showed maturity of ARR's compositions. Many times awards in India does not go the deserved (primarily because of regional bias). The reason why not many "talented" Indian artists did not make it big is because of the awards in India. Indian awards are always biased. I dont care a damn for national awards because MGR got a national award, Sivaji did not get one (he got awards in other countries, atleast others know how good he is). Kannadsan did not get a national award (as far as I know), Vairamuthu (who is half as talented as KD) got a couple of awards. IR should have got something in the range of 10 to 20 if this is the standard. When Tamil movies and artists deserved award they did not get many. Atleast it is getting balanced with we getting undeserved awards. This shows the standards have come down. I dont see anything great in VMs lyrics either in that movie. Hope the jury get things right in the future (which is asking too much from our corrupt soceity).

  Indian awards are sh*t! If MGR can get one and Anu Malik can get one(or more), need you say more about the moronic committee of this kind of award or any other Indian award. Please, already none of them can get along in politics throughout the whole country. Its shows how much unity they have. And any award coming from these very ppl...oh pls!

  Actually RD.Burman,laxmikanth pyarilal, and nadeem shravan was doing well during IR time. There was no talented MD after them. Then ARR entered in to HFM and he is being considered as HFM MD.KM is a flop movie and album. But it is reasonable instead of giving to the MD like anumalik,anand milind.
