Which Combi Is Better: SPB & IR or SPB & ARR

All times in EST +10:30 for IST.

There have been many hits by both combinations.
In a way it is hard to compare bcos SPB sort of grew up wit IR and is more like maturing wit ARR.
But i'd like to hear some opinions and a list of personal favs from each combi.

  You are right, other singers do need a chance, then why Not SPB.caharan, KJY.Vijay,Yugendran, I am sure these are talented singers!!!

  I do have to agree with Raghuvaran, Saran etc. Your statement is ridiculous. 'growing up' denotes an adolescent phase. Notwithstanding your attempts to put a positive spin to your statement, to me there are no two ways of looking at it. At best you are ingenuous but manage to put your foot in your mouth a lot, at worst you are a troublemaker making outrageous statements just to see how others react to them. (naai vaayila kuchi vidara maathiri)
  
  Actually, being an IR fan my first feeling was that your statement holds true wrt MSV & IR, SPB growing up with MSV, maturing with IR, but I am hesitant to make that statement since MSV fans might take offence. I have a 2 pack CD that contains the best of SPB. I think it is released by HMV and is part of the 'legend' series. It contains some exquisite songs of SPB. Apart from the more famous ones by MSV and IR there are a few songs composed by GK Venkatesh that are just awesome. One such is thaen sinthuthe vaanam, unai, enai thalaatuthey.
  
  It is pointless asking us to list the 5 best SPB/IR songs. Ask me 20 different times and I will give you 20 different answers based on my mood - it is just so difficult to pick their best 5.

  I mentioned the GK Venkatesh song because even in that song SPB sounded so good, not like someone 'growing up'. I believe GKV was MSV's contemporary.

  Look guys, something's wrong here. This must be a language barrier, okie? Mature is not always a good thing. If someone says, u r a mature woman, I'll puke and die. Bcos to me it's an insult as I'm young. If someone says u r mature in the way u handle things, tat's a compliment.
  So instead of pursuing an agenda, pls try to look things in perspective and look at the use of 'mature' in this context ok?
  
  This is the idea I had, when I wrote tat statement.
  SPB tried out many different things with IR, broke barriers (truly did), was actively singing in IR albums, went on world tours with IR, etc. The learning curve was steep.
  Where ARR is concerned, his songs are almost constant and his roles in ARR's songs r almost predictable. Bcos ARR only gives him the songs which are 'SPB-kind'. The sort he feels SPB deserves, and has said as much in an interview.
  So the learning curve has reached a constant now, bcos SPB has achieved the lot b4 starting to sing for ARR. (NAs are secondary, where i'm concerned).
  
  The point is, ARR decides which songs suit SPB based on the song's merit. So now, the songs are made to fit in with SPB's persona.
  With IR, it was the other way round. SPB fitted in with the songs, which gave him that persona which ARR tries to identify with.
  Do u get the picture now?
  There's nothing here about IRvsARR or any other such nonsense.
  
  tigger, i never asked u to list any '5'. So if u want to list 50, go ahead. And sorry I don't know much abt the MSV stuff. But i'll find out from grandparents, ok?

  I don't know why u always have to make smart alec statements like this. I don't know if u think u r so damn smart, but i did not ask u to do a personality analysis on me, so keep ur observations to urself, ok.
  And just to add, whether u put a 'kuchi' in a dog's mouth or not, it still barks, so stop insulting the other contributors in this thread.

  I looked up websters.com for 'mature'. The first 3 meanings that showed up are:
  
  Having reached full natural growth or development: a mature cell.
  Having reached a desired or final condition; ripe: a mature cheese.
  Of, relating to, or characteristic of full development, either mental or physical: mature for her age.
  
  Now do you understand why so many got annoyed?
  
  
  BTW I think 'naai vaayila..' is a saying in Tamil. Does not imply that posters here are dogs. If I say 'vamba velaiku vaangura maathiri' would u laugh at me and say 'how can you buy vambu?'

  You are right in saying that ARR gives only the best song to the legendary SPB, I have also heard him saying that in several interviews, he reckons that if he gives masala songs to SPB, that it will spoil SPB's reputation!
  
  I am sure you must have heard of MSV a lot, you do not need to ask your grandparents, I am only 24, I have heard many many MSV songs,GK venkatesh, KVM, ARR, RD. Burman, SD. Burman, Laxmikanth pyralel, Ram laxman, THIS IS NOT TO OFFEND you in any way, but one must know at least a handful of artists before any comparison.
  
  I repeat this is NOT TO OFFEND U IN ANY WAY.

  Then sindhudhe vaanam was composed by IR when he was an assistant to GKV-there was a thread on this last year-so , although the official MD was GKV, this song and another song in that movie -thanjavooru seemaiyile-were done by IR.this song was recycled by IR almost 10 years later as title song for enga ooru paattukkaran.

  'Tensindhude Vaanam' song is not original one, actually the kannada song 'Haayaagide' is the original, MD is GK.Venkatesh, sung by PBS and SJ.

  Another GKV song that bit the dust in Tamil, 'RavivarmanA' by PBS in Kannada, 'RavivarmakE' by SPB in telugu and a tasteless odourless, colourless 'nEragavE kEtkirEn' By Deepan Chakravarthy. I am sure there is another GKV song on the same lines whose stanza was use by GA in 'naNbanE enathu uyir naNbanE' and by IR in 'ingE iraivan ennum kalaignan'.

  I know the guy is irritating. But i couldnt bear the blaming ARR bit. :(
  As far as i know, ARR used Udit for mostly Peabhu Deva's songs. OK, The Rajni bit was a fiasco but still, it's been quite long since he used Udit. He brought Udit in, and the other MDs are using him for every song.
  About Sukhwinder.. he's sung only 2 sonds in Tamil for Rahman. It's again the other MDs.
