SO BABA IS A FLOP?!

barring all barriers, there is an universal report that BABA IS A FLOP. not just from laymen, even his ardent fans are absolutely unhappy with the film. spiritual leaders and severe religious people are angry with rajini. For people who beleived that rehmanis going to be the sving grace, he was the greatest disappointment. There is no commitment or seriousness in his music. Pls read reviews in Anandha vikatan and Kumudham. Nice to know that the press is bold to express their views. Anyway for the sake of clippings, movie rights and votes SUN TV will place it at no 1 in all countdowns for the next one year. But what we want to know as ardent rajini fans is : RAJINI SIR, ARE YOU REALLY HAPPY ABOUT THE OUTCOME OF THE MOVIE? DID YOU KNOW THAT THIS IS WHAT IS COMING OR YOU ALSO FEEL BETRAYED AND CHEATED?

  This is exactly what i wanted to say. People like Balachander, Bharathi Raja, S.P.Muthuraman, Rajasekhar, Mahendran could extract the best out of Rajini and Kamal. But these junk directors K.S.Ravikkumar, Suresh krishna are worthless.

  about the film...i think rajini did the best ....he trying to tell us
  about spititual....u know many ppl keep asking why is always going to
  EMAYAMAZHAI i think this movie will give everyone the answer.....i
  heard that this is his last movie....i am happy to such last movie of
  his....thank u sir to give us this movie...I WISH BABA

  Looks like the 'Baba' magic works across state borders too. The high-profile launch of the Telugu version of 'Baba' has reaped rich dividends with the film registering unprecedented openings all over Andhra Pradesh. With Rajini quoting a whopping Rs.10 crores, many regular buyers like A.M.Rathnam are supposed to have backed out, forcing Rajini to release the film himself, in Nizam and Andhra. He is believed to have sold it for Rs.2.5 crores for the ceded area. This has surprised trade pundits since even Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna have not crossed the 2-crore mark till date, despite having a considerable following in the region. Now that the Tamil superstar has outscored the Telugu local stars in terms of 'price', it remains to be seen if he can set a record in collections too. 'Baba' registered 100% openings, despite the Chiranjeevi-starrer Indra (which is a big hit), being directly pitted against it in all centres. Going by the openings, trade circles predict that the film could collect more than Rs.4 crores in the 'first' week itself. Unfortunately, the film has received 'divided' feedback, since viewers are unable to understand the theme of 'goon-turned-god man' and are also unable to follow the politically-loaded punchlines which are state-specific. Moreover, A R Rehman's different score has not impressed them. However, for a Tamil film dubbed into Telugu and released in Andhra, Baba has already set a record... will he continue to do so?

  I am surprised to see how people are defending..? why not gracefully accept the failure of RK? whether he continue in films or not, is a different issue. But why should not accept boldly that the film "Baba" is a flop and work for a better next... And people are trying to put the blame on ARR that the songs are bad. If the music had been great, do u say that film with such a meaningless and directionless story will stand good? The entire team under RK are responsibile for this downslide.

  It is fact that no one is happy with baba. But it is also obvious that BABA Will be the biggest hit of the year for one reason RAJINI. Come on a Vijay movie runs for 100 days regardless how crap it is (and crappier it gets). So there is no piont calling baba a flop it will run for atleast 150 plus days. Even Arunachalam ran for 150 days plus. Ever heard of a saying : "RAJINI movies never flop."

  He tries to give spiritual ideas ina very crude way ..Infact i feel instead of stressing on morality ,rajni has concentrated on the magical powers of mantra etc ..either it should be apure entertainment like batsha ,arunachalm or it should be a serious movie ....In other movies he used to give just two or three ideas ,but in BABA i think he made the mysticism as the main thing ,instead of entertainment ]]

  What you mean by big drop in ticket price? You are so stupid. Now is the normal price. It is good that they have brought the price down. How can u expect everyone to watch Rajini's movie at higher price.

  what i understand from indiainfo news and this news is they are trying to attract people by reducing ticket price. Rajini movies are bound to run for more than a month with high ticket prices. that probably not the case with this movie. i donno what you understand different from this..these are supportive evidences to prove that this movie is a flop!!

  by the by, when the theaters can decide the price of a movie can you explain what is a normal price? If the distributors have bought for big money then the normal price would be Rs.100 and more. If they come down to slash the price, they probably are not going regain the invested money.That's probably the case with Baba movie. Even your great Baba has understood this truth and you seem to be not!!

  Mr. Fliflo r u in chennai by any chance or atleast in TN? Have u ever seen a ticket being old for 100 rs at every theater for any movie? The answer is NO. Only Rajini films have that royalty. Theaters before the release of the movie said that the tickets for baba would be doubled for 2 weeks. 2 weeks are over so the ticket prices goes back to normal. And yes there is thing called normal price which ranges from 5 rs to 60 rs, and no more.The fall in price doesnt mean a thing, if it supposed to mean something then this is what i infer: they theater has earned alot intially, and now, dec the price so movie is accesible to people of all class.
  And one more thing the prices were not set by the distributors , Rajini set the prices.!

  Fact file, I have understood what u wrote. If you read the report carefully, there is a clear mention about a Madras theater owner revealing the truth that there is not much crowd for the movie. Is that not a thing? Further he clearly quotes this reason for ticket price reduction.
