...Gemini Studios, which paid Chopra over Rs 1 crore for the remake rights with 20 per cent of the profit and script veto powers, will launch the Tamil version with Kamal Haasan on May 15. "I was seeing a clean good family entertainer in Hindi after such a long time and I felt we should not miss a chance to remake it," explains Manohar Prasad of Gemini who is now negotiating for a remake in Kannada and a Malayalam version starring Mohanlal....

  any way, I like the word Ji, so I use it :), sari ungala mathiri periyavngha ellam sollumpoothu naan mathithuthane ahanum, so as from now on, I shall not use ji for kamal, but can i use it for SPB/Rajni/Raghuvaran Or Aish/Simms ;))

  Krishna Leela is the title of a film KH wants to do with children,I don't think Naran will be made,KumaraSambhavam is dropped&so KG will be his next followed by a film with Gautham with Roja combines as producer.

  I think you have mistaken Naran to be Annian,it's not the case.Naran was a film Kamal had planned with K.S.Ravikumar after Aalavandhan&it was about a man with animal instincts,don't know whether it's on hold or dropped.KG is a thriller to be shot in bangalore over 40days with Singeetham as director.It's a Tamil/Kannada bilingual&there is likely to be no heroine.

  I am not sure if KG is the next film because by now (10 days after the previous movie), the HYPE machine would have been in full swing if the next movie is confirmed.
  
  As regards movie collections from Satyam it's
  a tactic used when a movie does well in Chennai and not in the rest of TN and elsewhere, to create an illusion that the movie is going strong and is a potential blockbuster.

  I wonder how come each and every movie surpasses other movie's records nowadays. First sify claimed that AE made 12 laks and that was the maximum collection Satyam had seen in its history. Now they are saying VR has made 15 laks.. Are there more shows running at Satyam for VR? which one is true? Am I missing something here?
  
  Vikatan also says that Munnabai is based on (and VR ofcourse)another hollywood flick, Patch Adams. Anyone seen it?
  
  Saw planes, trains and automobiles (anbe sivam's somewhat original).. God, how come these people take left,right and center of foreign films and do not open their mouths! Don't we have our own stories to make movies or what?

  Its sad to see someone like Kamal who is talented and love the cinema so much lose the plot completely.
  
  He should stop doing these cheap comedy flicks.
  
  Its ok to get inspired by some good English films but to make it a habit is something else. When did Kamal do a film which wasn't a copy of an English film (in terms of theme, technology or in most cases scene by scene everything). Now a days....when Kamal starts a film...the first question that comes to your mind is....which English film is he copying?
  
  He should stop doing younger roles...he looks haggard...over weight...and lethargic in recent films. He should stop dancing around with Sneha and start doing more mature roles....need not be hero roles.
  
  He has been extremely lucky with the timing with Virumandi and VR MBBS. There wasn't any other "star" movie (especially from Vikram, Surya & Vijay) released along with it. Hence, they opened big...but only quality films will have a sustain run. It showed with Virumandi...where people are not even mentioning it as an average hit (check websites like Sify). VR MBBS will be a disaster....especially with Madura opening soon.
  
  Kamal seems to be lacking in confidence lately....his mantra seems to be to copy a English/Hindi film....create a bit of controversy with the title or anything and try sneak in a release when there is no competition.
  
  Kamal....come out of this circle....you still have a lot to offer to the tamil audience!

  I just forgot onething....magazines like Anantha Vikatan and some other 'jolna pais' who make up the 'jalra' team are to be blamed as well. AV completely lost its reputation as an unbiased reviewer of movies long time back. When they give marks for Kamal films you can easily discount it by 20% to get the fail value.

  I also think he should come out of his usual coterie of people - KSR, SanthanaBharathy, Singeetham etc. and do films with other relative new comers.
  
  One of the problems in tamil films is the supposed lack of good stories and screenplays that can entertain all classes ans sections of the audience. In this scenario, getting some inspiration from foreign films is probably OK. But, scene by scene copying and habitually making one copy film after another points to lack of creativity.
  
  Patch Adams was not a well received film in the US. It was a mediocre film. Madure may not be a high quality film but it will entertain a lot of folks and will run well based on pre-release buzz.

  Kannan is totally against Kamal... He did not mention any convincing reasons that he hates Kamal.
  I would still say, in tamil movies, Kamal is the only actor, even at this age, maintains a great body. Rajni, V.Kanth, S.Kumar are disasters. Even comparing with Vijay, Kamal maintains a good looking personality. Talking about mature roles, Virumandi is a great presentation.
  Comparing timing of his movie, even Vikarm's Arul is a disaster. Surya's peralaghan, I believe, is an avergae hit. None of the actors kannan listed is a consistent performer. So, timing may not be a great criterion to measure Kamal's movie run.
  Kannan may have some valid points, but totally going against Kamal is not convincing.

  The same jalras have praised Vikram for his PithaMagan.So does it mean they are favouring Vikram?
  Kamal is a University within himself and we see lot of these actors get inspired from him.He still have a few years left and he knows him to market him very well.If all of his movies are flops in recent years why the film industry is still behind him in booking for new movies.Coming back to his own film company RK films except of Hey Ram everything was a hit.
  HeyRam by itself is a very orginal movie not copied from any English Movie and thanks to the tamil audience for making it as failure.
