  Man am I amazed, happy ? Annanda kannergal.. Thanks to all you
  guys who have kept this page full of the maestro
  Illaiyaraja's spirit alive. The sad part is that
  only people far away in the US seem to appreciate
  him more (in the student comm.). Here in Madras ..
  people are comparing him to ARR. Even as I am hearing
  to the song from "Avataram" my blood boils. After
  seeing this page, I see some hope. Long live IR !

  Ratchakan (A.R.) About 4 out of the 8 songs are good.
  
  Ottam (A.R.) I liked all the songs from Ottam.
  
  Minsara Kanavu (A.R.) All pretty good.
  
  Suriya Vamsam (unknown to me) Lots of great songs, but also has some bad ones.
  
  Adimai Chankali (don't know) All songs were great.

  I am newcomer to the discussion. According to Anandha Vikatan, IR's KAthalukku Mariyathai has brought back melody to tamil music. the album is just great and is in the lines of Ir's mouna ragam etc.

  I have a keen interest in Tamil films but only a limited knowledge of Tamil. Since I have just purchased the video and CD for Kaadhalukku Mariyaathai, I am wondering if anyone would be so kind as to give me a summary of the film's plot or a translation of the song "ennai thalatta." I find it rather unfortunate that there are no subtitled films.
