VIKRAM BAGS THE BEST NATIONAL ACTOR AWARD!!

VIKRAM, the versatile actor from Tamilnadu has bagged the coveted "BEST NATIONAL ACTOR" award as annoiunced today for his acting in "PITHAMAGAN" and MEERA JASMINE, the "BEST NATIONAL ACTRESS" award for a Malayalam movie!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Now, all his[VIKRAM'S] bickerings over BALA that SOORYA was given prominence in PITHAMAGAN has "GONE WITH THE WIND"!!!
MEERA is an actress whom Tamil industry hasn't used properly!!

  It was good that the national Award wasn't given to Sivaji. Other wise, either an award that was given to MGR for Rikshakaran would have obtained undue recognition or an award that Sivaji received would have been degraded/devalued when it was given to MGR.
  
  Also....it doesn't make sense to give an annual award like the National Award to Sivaji.....because for how many movies are you going to give him the award.
  
  Degrees and awards are never given to an institution....they are only given to the students who have learnt and graduated at the institution!
  
  Kamal and Vikram are two students of whom the Great Sivaji would have been proud of.

  Ha..ha..ha...this is called hypocracy....Nagas did you see the movie...Now many of IR sympathisers don't ever try other form of music but still comment on other and make judgement. I too have not seen KHNO but have heard its music...for a film on contemporary subject it was an excellenet piece of music...
  
  Hey music doen't start and end with IR...Why should all other music should be similar to Sindubhairavi...tell me is manasellam similar to SB. Is Dhanush or SMK similar to SB?

  The way India thinks has got nothing to do with the national awards,it's those bunch of people who form the awards panel,their biases(for/against)which decides it.I have seen KHNH,the music was contemporary but a national award for best music&best male singer-Sorry.By your standards,SRK should have been best actor,Saif best supporting actor,Karan Johar best writer&Nikhil Advani best director. :)

  what's wrong. The jury is a new one every year...and remember a interview last year by a member of the jury who happened to be a tamilian. He said how things are decide and he said how he struggled to argued to get an award for Chandrasekar for the film "knock out".
  
  See, most of the time the jury is independed..ya...once or twice, here and there the jury gets currupted like what happened in 2000 when Raveena won the best actress and AM won the music...The issue came up in the parliament.
  
  Now...all we are arguing is because IR didn't get...well fair enough..
  
  Now imagine a argument from a fan of music director from assam...say "Bhupen hazarika" (well he got dada saheb two years before...but that's not the point)
  
  If he says that the two time IR got award in 85,86 were because of the influence of Balumahendra who was in the jury both the times...Now how is this argument...from his point of view what he says will sound correct atleast for a retrospection...
  Now in India with such a vast country and diverse culture all awards cannot be 100% based on pure merits...atleast a 20% of lobbying is necessary...You talk lot about IR and many here shout it out of the world...What have these politicians done to boost IRs image in delhi...They couldn't get his a padma award...Vaiko...whose comments have gone into Vel's book o celebrity speak has done nothing for his share.
  India is not a individual...you being a regional guy should find ways to project yourself.
  Did Arr have any political affiliation..? No...If he getting a padma award is because he went to Hindi belt then 100s of Annu Maliks and NS should have got that...but no...What ARR did honetsly is produce an album not of TN but of India, targeting the youth and appealed to every one in north saying " hey I am here". He did not indulge in regionality, rather went on to talk and be a hindi when in Noth India (be a roman when you are in rome)...Now that's good strategy...He got 3 NA for Tamil films ...he should have got one for Dil se and taal..but that's besides the point I am making here.
  
  IR needs a good PR machine and should come out of the clout of regionalism....I think he is on track now atleast...or else why should he search for an Hindi lyricist for his TIS project.....
  God willing if that touches the heart of atleast few right thinking Indian...I assure you that a padma Bhushan is not far away for him.

  No bashing IR fans...its not my intention...Its their misplaced inferiority and superiority complexes that I am worried with. Its their vision where they see every thing with either ARR lens of IR prism.
  
  What I am saying is instead of complaining and feeling jealous or dejected...we can we what can be best done to boost the name of fellow tamilian..This we can only do if we accept that our regionality had a disadvantage in the Union of India and to project our regionality we need to work and move in tandem with rest of India...
  
  We need to make music and movies which are either downright regional or acceptably commericial to Indian mind set.
  
  See malyaalam music and films..they win awrds after awards..because their product is hardcore regional and they say that it is commercial...See the BGM of johnson...you will sleep a 1000 times if you are in cinema hall...Now he gets awards after awards...
  What IR does is give a superlative music to a ordinary...but god film film looks like regional but lacks essence.
  
  Why on the earth did Azhagi have the commercial song....Couldn't the film be carried along the BGM itself...why...? That the film naither commercial not an artform...Though Sadhana fetched an award...probably the carriage of the film did not impress jury to award a prize to music...
  
  Okay...adha vidunga...
  I think every body would have wondered why IR did not get award for so many years...? Any answer..? Philosophicala vendam...lets see it objectively.

  I'ven't seen KHNH movie - But I've listened to all the songs - thats why I asked you people abt the BGM - if BGM is great and SEL got an award for that, I can understand that - but when you take songs alone, they are NOT in the standards of same movies I mentioned above (as mnt pointed out, I had ROJA also in my list !)
  
  Come-on, I am not asking for an award for tamil or for raja ... I feel that KHNH is not in the class of 'award winning albums' or 'award vaangiya albums' ...
  
  Reg., your other query - why IR didn't receieve an award in the past 15 years - don't think I am an IR veRiyan or something - But I would say standard of awards itself is going down - sometimes, people are awarded for songs alone (I heard Ismail darbar didn't even do BGM for his national award winning album !) - like this year, Commercial success also can translate to national award - and we all know, IR is not a very successful MD in the last 10 years or so :) ...
  
  But I get atleast two 'quality' albums from IR every year - like two 'quality' 100s from Tendulkar - thats enough, I don't care if only Rahul dravid and Sehwag is getting all praise from the indian captain ;)
