VIKRAM BAGS THE BEST NATIONAL ACTOR AWARD!!

VIKRAM, the versatile actor from Tamilnadu has bagged the coveted "BEST NATIONAL ACTOR" award as annoiunced today for his acting in "PITHAMAGAN" and MEERA JASMINE, the "BEST NATIONAL ACTRESS" award for a Malayalam movie!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Now, all his[VIKRAM'S] bickerings over BALA that SOORYA was given prominence in PITHAMAGAN has "GONE WITH THE WIND"!!!
MEERA is an actress whom Tamil industry hasn't used properly!!

  Enakku Vikram nadippu pudikkum. However, not giving Kamal the award (be it for Anbe Sivam or Virumaandi) smacks of cinematic ignorance. As someone pointed out, even Kamal's performances in movies like Sagara Sangamam were ignored. National Award is a joke.

  This is ridiculous, yes Kamal is a better actor than Vikram, Kamal has been acting nearly 42+ years, while Vikram has been around for the last 15 years?
  
  Just appreciate some one getting this national recognition, if Simbu Or JA or Hrithik won such awards, we can sit here and criticise, here we are talking about an excellent actor, this is his first national award, while Kamal has 3+?? National awards.
  
  Let me ask all of you, one thing, has any one ever stood in front of a camera & did any acting? well try it!, then you will know the difficulties!
  
  Just be happy for Vik & Meera, it is a joke though to c sonu nigam bags the 'best playback singer' award :(

  Don't put too much weight in the Dinamani story.
  
  It says Vikram was considered for his role in Sethu - LAST YEAR (4 years after the movie came out?)
  
  And Kamal missed it for Virumandi, because he played similar characters in Guna and 16 Vayathinile? I doubt the looser who wrote this story ever saw these three movies.
  
  And to the list of 'Kamal deserved an award for that but didn't get it', you can add movies like 16 Vayathinile and Mahanadhi as well.
  
  I think from now on, it's going to be difficult for Kamal to win awards for GREAT performances. Because, that's the minimum everyone expects from him. Heck! He even gives a great performance in Vasool Raja.
  
  He will have to give exceptional and outstanding performances to be even considered for awards from now on.
  
  Virumandi was a great performance by his standards. I felt that director Kamal outperformed actor Kamal in Virumandi. In Anbe Sivam, the character after the accident was exceptional. But before the accident was just average by Kamal standards.
  
  Hope this award to Vikram inspires both Kamal and Vikram, and of course other talented youngsters like Surya and Mathavan.

  Yes I agree with you 100% on this. but tell me how many National awards did the King of actors Late Shivaji sir got??, clearly Sivaji sir is 1000 a better actor than kamal, even kamal would admit that. This PATHETIC!!
  
  and, don't you think Super* won a national award for '6 il irunthu 60 vathu varai', surely, if Sagara Sangamam & sirpikuzh muthu desrves national award, then 6 il irunthu 60 vathu varai MUST deserve a national award, then how about films like Karnan, Veera pandiya Katta Bhoman, Raja Raja cholan, surely Shivaji sir MUST deserve the most number of national awards in India !!!

  1000 times a natural acting is a great over acting.
  anyways Sivaji sir has enough food for todays mockedians in TV.

  Don't forget MGR also won a Bharat ratna&don't be surprised if Sonia also wins it(Andhra congress has recommmended her for the Bharatrathna for her supreme act of renunciation of PMship):)

  I remember Sivaji being awarded something for Devar Magan. Was it Best Supporting Actor or was it some special award created for Sivaji because they felt so ashamed that they had not given one to Sivaji all these years?
  
  Prakash Raj won a best supporting actor for his role in Iruvar.

  Sivaji never got an award! He only got a so-called "Honorable mention"!!! If I remember correctly they gave it to Sunny Deol (of all people) that year for Best supporting Role!!

  I am [not??] surprised to note that although the focus of this thread was on both Vikram and Meera, there has been practically NO talk on the female actresses.
  Are we all so male chauvunistic?
  A movie is not always carried by the best actor alone.
  More than Vikram, Meera has won this coveted award in less a few years!
  Despite her height, adverse publicity, she has stood alone and made a name for herself.
  In my opinion, her winning is more prestigious than Vikram's!

  but Im upset that a commercial work like KHNH won best music award ahead of virumaaNdi and pithamagan - did that movie (KHNH) had great BGM or something ? I can't imagine seeing such an album in the ranks of sindhu bairavi, roja and others ...

  Shivaji won a special jury award for 'Thevar Magan'but he rejected it&why not?He was clearly not given his due when it mattered to him most.In fact DilipKumar is another great actor who never won a national award in his life.

  SK, I guess nobody knows about or seen the Malayalam movie that Meera won the award for. And nobody knows about the other actresses who were in the fray for the Best actress award. probably thats why nobody has anything to say about it whether she deserves it or not.
