  I am not sure why the songs are blasted left and right here!!! I heard them along with my friends (not all are rajni fans) and definitely they liked the rhythm, beat and lyrics. I remember Padayappa songs were criticized so much in the beginning but it became such a roaring hit after the movie is released. The same happened with Annamalai music also. Initially nobody liked it but after the movie is released it became a hit. All rajni movie songs jell more with the movie and situation. So I'm 100% sure that this will be one of my all-time favorites after I see the movie.

  Remember guyzz! YOU ARE COMMENTING FROM A LOW QUALITY REALAUDIO SAMPLES... I think this album is typical Rahman which due to much expectations is condemnd in the beginning( I remember it happend to the blockbuster hit MinsaraKanavu too) but at the end maintain its reputation.
  
  I THINK MOST OF THE REVIEWERS HERE TRY TO TYPE SOMETHING BEFORE THE SONG REACH THEIR EAR OR HEAD!!
  
  You have to relax and give it a break guyz. It looked like flop at first but then i listened more i felt the underlying rythm. Even Shankar Mahdevan's Number doesnt seem that worse. Jeyachandran and Karthik's song seems quite good.

  not bad at all man.
  jsu remember 1 thing, ARR wasnt around during the recording.. adhukku nallave irukku!
  i love sakthi kodu.. amazing voice. Karthik's going somewhere to a completely new dimension.. nostradamus says so!
  maya maya's cute..
  overall, after jus 3 or 4 listenings, baba's already ottified on me..
  if ARR'd been around during the recording bits, he cud have done better.. lemme get the cassette 1st. Detailed review from this little guy later!

  hey guys...Baba music cassette has been released yesterday all over. I picked up 2 of them from a music outlet. The songs are just amaaaaaaazing and awesome. ARR has outdone himself. Baba Kitchu is a sooooooooper one. Maya Maya is just awesome as well. Sakthi kodu is really kewl guys. Dipu Dipiu is a real peppy one. Xllllllllnnnnnnnnnt songs. Well done ARR.   At last the most eagerly awaited audio of the year Baba arrived on Wednesday (July31) evening to a tumultus reception. Rajnikanth fans have snapped the audio like hot cakes and by evening most of the retail outlets had to put out a “sold out” board.
  
  If it’s Rajnikanth, it got to be pitched as a message audio. Baba is shrieking of messages and Rajni ideology. Rahman has tried to change Rajni’s usual jingoistic style into a more reflective and retrospective note. Take the ‘Baba’ theme music Ekamevadvitiyam”(which means-There is only one (paramathma)no second entity.) rendered with thrust by Srinivasan, which creates a mood of the album. As a fan remarked “ Sami Pattu Mathiri Irukkuthe” and there are far too many political overtones in the “Sakthi Kodu” number written by Vairamuthu which states Rajnikanth’s political ideology and is beautifully rendered by Karthik. Though the album has its usual quota of recycled Rahman hits, the old magic is missing. What is really missing in the album is a fast and peppy number. Though there is “Dippu.. Dippu” sung by Shankar Mahadevan and “Baba Kichchu”, they are not dance numbers. However, the song that sparkles in the album is the hummable number by Karthik and Sujata “Maya..Maya..” . Another song ”Rajayame..” is a very slow number.
  
  On the whole, Rahman music takes time to become popular and probably after the film is released it may be on everybody’s lips.

  Yes. You guys are correct. Look at this link It has only 7 songs from the rahmanonline site. I dont think Dheivam indru song belongs to Baba.

  3 songs r nice (kichu,dippu,maya). other songs r spoiled by the voices of the persons who sang them. they didnt match with that of a rajini number. they may have been sung by hariharan or spb itself. y make a test with the songs of much awited movie?

  'Deivan Indru' is special song included in the Ramiy version. As the CD cover inlay correctly notes, it it not from BABA.
