AR Rahman's Tamil Blockbuster "BOYS"

Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::

Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.

Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.

In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.

Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.

For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

  Such heated arguments even before the actual album is realeased....dont based on the mp3's there :) , with the lady's oooh yeah!.
  ARR Critics, please don't base ur opinions on nothing. Give it some time, and then give proper comments, be it good or bad. A lot of guys here say that HJ and Vidyasagar are very good. Now lets see HJs last 2 albums were moderate-big hits, laysa laysa and saami. Saami was truly a nice album, and almost every song of laysa laysa reminds of ARR's old albums(with an increased tempo ofcourse :) ). Same with Vidyasagar, Dhool and Parthiban Kanavu. Parthiban Kanavu was truly an awesome album and dhool had a lot of peppy and tappanguthu songs.
  
  Every Music Director in some interview or the other says its easy to create fast songs. But the main point is this, they are NOT remembered by those songs. Vidyasagar will always be remembered for his Malare Mounama and HJ for his Vaseegara. Take IR for that matter, nobody talks about "Chinna Raasave Chitterumbu", they talk about his melodious compositions.
  Coming back to the point ARR has given us numerous melodious compositions. Boys though is fast, its totally different from the mundane albums nowadays. You may not like him, but Wait, listen to the whole album, see how it gels with the movie and then post ur comments.
  I think he is the only MD who wants to keep trying something new. How long do u think it will take for him to keep creating songs like "Romeo Attam Pottal". Give the guy a little credit for the 3 National Awards he has recieved. He is not up there for nothing :))!

  nice to see your post. It was refreshing and different than the ugly fight between some immatured ARR fans and some trouble-loving IR fans.
  
  So do you also intend to say that ARR will not be remembered by his fast BOYS song but always by his Kannalane or Chinna Chinna Asai? I agree with that?
  
  I have one complaint against ARR fans. They have sometimes really called some mediocre songs as greatest. Sincerely I feel that only YSR, VS and HJ have been good in the recent past. Let us wait and see how Boys turns out. I am not a fan of fast music. I like village folk kind of music like kizhakku cheemayile etc.

  You are absolutely right Thandhaane, Boys though is a refreshing change, ppl will not remember ARR cos of boys :).

  The beat from the "Secret of Success" is indeed from a hip-hop sample. The samples from website such as soundsonline.com are available for anyone use after purchasing the album. The samples usually consist of different beats, tunes... roughly about 1-2 minutes...
  
  visit soundsonline.com to listen to how these "samples" sound like. In the market, these samples are usually referred to as "Royalty Free Music." Infact, ARR is a common player with samples and this site is one of the places where ARR likes to shop for his Samples..
  
  This is nothing new for ARR,,, plus many other MDs like Harris Jayaraj have just begun working with samples in their albums...
  
  So, the reason "Secret of Success" has Hiphop/ Eminem beats is because; its available for everyones use...

  Bwahahaha....whats up with all these delusional types? The copy from Eminem was not the beat part - but the tune part. Yes,yes...I know....now you will say Eminem sampled the tune from someone else, so its ok to rip-off Eminem....

  What a classic example of looking a gift horse in the mouth! I don't mind the occassional voice in the song - If you're so particular, you'd wait and get the CD when it releases.
