  Next year, he is coming up with the "Two gopurams".

  Movie was good, The Theatre Sucks big time.....
  
  I watched baba last night in Strand Theatre , NJ... Perfect setting for a Rajini movie.. The crowd of around 700-800 were in the theatre 1 hour earlier with printed baba t-shirts and candles etc....The crowd started to shout BABA -BABA after waiting for more than 1/2 hr inside the theatre.... This is a well educated crowd with 1/2 of them being there with their families.... The movie started at 9.30 with some lousy hindi trailers which was boo-ed by the entire theatre.... The movie started and the theatre almost erupted with whistles and claps..... This was something I've been waiting for.... S-U-P-E-R S-T-A-R R-A-J-N-I ...........First day first show in front of a hostile crowd.... Literally I couldnt hear the 'Hey hey ' sound in the background.....After a few regular opening scenes came the introduction of Baba with the 'Dippu Dippu' Song..Few guys lighted their candles in front of the screen... For those who had earlier commented that this song won't suit rajini's introduction, pls watch the song in a theatre and let me know ur comments... It was the same cheer I saw for Muthu or padayppa and even at this age Rajini knows how he can attract the crowd during his intro............The first one hour of the movie had usual rajini stuff.... comedy and galatta with some punch dialogues like 'Pombalai oor suthina kettu poiduva.... aambalai veetla summa ukkandhuttu irundhale kettu poiduvan'.... and also some sanskrit yogasanam dialogues... But just as we were enjoying the movie, the unbelievable thing that could happen to any rajini fan on the first day of the movie happened.... the movie started playing upside down and in reverse..... the crowd started the boos and then the came theatre owner who told that there was a problem with the reels and it would take 2 hrs to fix it and so the movie cant continue.. The crowd got upset , few of them shouted and a few remained silent in shock........ ppl had come from different parts of northeast..... a gang from phily, few from baltimore, few of the from Boston and connecticut........and it was really a disappointment for them.... To me, I'm not a RK fan but I enjoyed the 1st one hour of the movie... I would have been happy if I could have watched 'Maya Maya', 'shakthi kodu' and 'baba kichu' songs......Now I'll have to watch it on DVD alone which is definitely not the way to see rajini's movies.....
  To be frank, two places I've really felt as If I was in India.... first time it was 2 years ago during the ARR concert in Newyork...This time it was during Baba... But the first time I felt like as I was in bombay or Delhi whereas this time I felt like I was in chennai in udayam theatre or albert theatre..... being miles away from our families in an alien country and having a feeling as if you are in your home country is the best feeling one can have... and I had that last night...

  Whether the movie is good or bad, a lot of people are there to watch many times like 'I will go for both the shows' or I will go to NY then I will go to Chicago etc. This is just like Tamilnadu Politics.

  The review in rediff has been written by some guy who slept in the movie I guess.... He says baba's parents are vijayakumar and sujatha whereas its actually ramdoss and sujatha , vijaykumar being manisha's father... There are two ways to judge this movie... One as a Rajini fan and one as a serious movie fan... for a rajini fan, the movie is good and will be a hit... for a normal fan, the movie is no good and is a flop... The review writer is a normal fan who worries more about the hype to the movie rather than the actual movie itself...Rajini fans dont care what the others say about story or the movie... They pay their money for entertainment which they get more than the amount of money they spend.. For a normal fan, he wants all movies to be a nayagan or mouna raagam...

  it is very sad that rajini's 25+ years of acting had to end with a trash movie....
  kaasu koduthu vaangiya theater ownergallai paridhaba paduratha ? illai adhai edutha namba SUPERSTARa paridhabapaduratha ?????
  Because of this, Suresh Krishna's name has also been hit..... I guess Superstar should have just stuck to his acting instead of doing all scereenplay,story etc etc etc

  Unmai, As long as TN ppl like u keep talking rather than doing anything, all the politicians will be making money....To me it doesnt matter who makes money but whether my money was worth spending... I didnt do anything out of the ordinary to watch the movie... The same amount of money , I spent on PKS or panchathanthiram or KM was the money I spent on Baba.... Also I'm not marketing this movie and as I have told before I'm a fan of Kamal and not RK.... It was my feelings which I didnt feel in any other movie in US that I had expressed.. I had watched panchathanthiram in New york with a crowd of 10 ppl and watched baba with 800 ppl...I would like to quote one of ur statments in old threads "I know what i am talking about" and so do I... So keep up your anti-RK or anti-baba propoganda and I dont care about it.......Don't compare me with others or pull my name in your statements...

  What is meant by adding 'Thodarum' at the end?
  Is there going to be a BABA part - 2 where he gets 1000 wishes, after wasting 999 wishes he will use that one last wish for some special mission!!! As i expected this BABA is another outrageously stupid movie from Rajini & Suresh Krishna. Even for RK fans it should be a disappointment. No rajini movie has been written off my all the magazines like BABA. I hope he gets lost from the tamil films!! I am also glad he gives one movie every three years!!! This BABA is an example from start to finish how a movie not to be made!!

  you are a dumb! You don't understand what I tried to say. One person says I will go and see both the shows and another guy says he is exited seeing the movie but could not see the whole movie because of the problem with the theatre, for that I said ' You are lucky', because the second half is very boring
