Anbae Sivam...did I complained when YSR remixed Aasai 100 vagai?
Reworking old songs are kinda trend right now..
just like Pretty Woman in Kal Ho Na Ho.
So the Tune yes he modified the Gummi Adi Penne tune into a catchy beat...if YSR done that..i will be happy too..but why copy HJ's beat...
even Thiruvasagam by IR..is some sort of reworking old masterpiece rite...and i really have nothing against it...coz they are treasuring the treasure...but not reworking someone's else tune in the present era.
:D

This album has a great combination of different styles, two melodies, one dappanguththu, one soft rock, one club-mix and one pop with jazz effect. I would say that all songs are good in this one album. That is a rare thing nowadays.
1. nattu charakku (dappanguththu)
This song is going to be a big hit among college crowd, the tempo has been kept throughout the song. Singers Ranjith and Dr. Lavanya has done a good job. The only drawback is that the lyrics are on the A side but at the same time it has got some catchy lines too. 4/5 is my rating.
2. puthu kathal (melody)
The song starts with heavy beats and progresses nicely. Chinamayi and Ranjith have sung the song well. This song is penned by snehan and the lines are good in places. Definitely one of the picks of this album. 5/5
3. puthukottailerinthu saravana (club mix)
Though YSR tried his club mix attempt in Kurumbu (aasai 100 vagai), he has come good in this song. The percussion arrangement in the interludes and in background are interesting. This one is also enjoyable. 3.5/5
4. where do we go? (Soft rock)
I think this is the (may be only??) best soft rock song I have heard in TFM. This is truly international standard stuff. The percussion arrangement and guitar lead are just awesome. This is the second pick of the album. How I wish this one should be a full length song, mmmm. 5/5
5. malargale (melody)
The song has very different arrangement in the charanams. This is the first time Thamarai writes lyrics for YSR. Bombay Jeyashree has sung it in her husky voice again. 4.5/5
6. Baby baby (pop with jazz effect)
Carla, white female singer, starts with her Britney like singing and yuvan takes over. The song starts like a pop song and in the interludes the jazzy effects are coming in. The piano roll in the first interlude and the trumpet in the second interlude are just well done. 4.5/5
Overall the album is really good and will appeal to youngsters, my rating is 4.4/5.

hey,
Did anyone notice that "malargale" tune is very much similar to "Uravenum Puthiya Vaanil" from "Nenjathai Kiladhae" ?????? It is only in the starting that it appears similar and it could be just the same raaga or something(I am a BIG zero in this department).Experts here can clarify.

Paran,
IR Thiruvasakam in Symphony is not rework as far as the music is concerned. Thiruvaskam was never rendered with Western composition.
The treasure is content of Thiruvasakam and the music by the which it is supposed to be uttered is entirely new. Let us see the outcome. Otherwise what is the greatness of the entire work.
Regarding YSR taking beats, I don't see any difference between what ARR did and what YSR did. It is just using the loops as all the composers of modern era are doing. My point is you are looking it with a different prism when YSR is doing. Why is that?
Aasai Nooru Vagai is well known to everybody and is announced as a remix. Did ARR announced gummi adi as a remix. I don't think so.

Anbe Sivam,
i didnt say call it double standards i didnt say d song was bad i enjoyed d song.Im just saying that he was most likely inspired by ARR hits.
The church bell and temple bell are two different sounds.Churchbell is a more hollow sound.Listen to Kama Kama 0:32-0:48 and ull hear it quite distinctly what d church bells sound like.
I hear that ARR is gonna remix an old MGR number for his album NEW taht should be interesting.

I went to oosai.com today to listen to the songs again and they added "Where do we go" wonderful song. This song is my pick of the album.I dunno if YSR did the music for this song or if it was the london group that did the music for this song but either way great song sung greatly by him.

Actually there was no london band involved in PKS. Where do we go was sung by YSR and shorus in Chennai.
Baby Baby was just performed by a uk based singer called Carla. The songs were all done by YSR solely.
This is a news I got from the director of PKS Mr. S S Stanly.

YSR is creating unwanted publicity by telling that he has composed songs for the movie in london and that he has done some work with a london based band....ONLY ONE MAN CAN DO THE RECORDING FROM LONDON....and u KNOW WHO HE IS.....

Ashwin,
I don't think YSR created such a publicity. All he told is that he is doing mixing for the songs in UK.
I don't know where this UK band thing came from. Even Mouname Pesiyadhe is mixed in London. He does this very often as recording facility is good over there.

I read sumwhere ill look for the site again, that he did the songs in london and got a band to help him with one song. You can listen to Where do we go and its quite obvious because it can be easily taken as an enlish song until u hear the thamil lyrics.Good song interesting album i hope we have more of this kinda stuff from him.

Piratheepan,
Now I understand what is churchbell. YSR used it in Popcarn Vasundara doss song starting music of "Naan Vaitha poovil Thee vaitha Snehitha"(came before both kks and boys).
More than that IR used it Rajini Kanth and Gouthami song(clock song) long back.
Looks like a standard usage for which ARR is no sole owner.

After listerning YSR's score in Puthukkottaielerenthu Saravanan ARR will not think to return back to TFM.Still many YSR and HJ's albums are yet to release to threaten him.
May God save ARR and ARR fans.

Anbe Sivam:
Yuvan has mixed a few songs (from MT and MP) before in London, but PS, the whole album was composed, partly mixed and recorded in London. The film director and few others went there to start the score. And it was completed at Kalasa in Chennai. My guess is that they did what could be done economically over there and gave the finishing touch in chennai.
Piratheepan:
I dunno if YSR did the music for this song or if it was the london group that did the music for this song
In the inlay card, Simon was credited for Guitar and John for mixing and recording in London. I don't think any London-based band involved in this album. And yes, I instantly liked it from the first hearing, excellent song.
I believe this album and movie will do a good business at the box office.
