  I too hate when people talk about quantity more than quality to compare good music. For the matter of fact KVM broke all the barriers, language culture and what not with his Shankarabaranam ( and it is one of my favorite raags) too.
  I was just suggesting a Quantitative analysis.. if we people want to measure success by Quantity rather than quality..
  By this I surely dont mean to say ARR does not have quality, he has, but lately he is not consistent (this is my observation). Until a big banner, or a good director drives the Music importance, ARR doesnot seem to put that much efforts..

  And yeah I believe that only 60,000 casettes of Boys was made, but if you know simple economics the turn around time for producing a batch of 1000 casettes is less than a week. A CD is even lesser than that! So it is the obvious case of Boys becoming popular and everyone wanting to get a copy!
  
  ok man going by that, its been jus 4 weeks since BOYs got released . ill teach u some arithmetics too.
  1000 cassettes per week makes 1000X4 = 4000 cassetes
  how much CD's wud they produce?
  shall i take it to be 10000
  10000X4 = 40000 CD's
  
  4000+40000 = 44000 units
  adding that to earlier production of 60000 units
  60000+44000 = 104000 units
  now prove me arithmetically that
  104000 = 300000
  can u do it??

  People always claim about quality of music with ARR. Ok. I accept that. He gave quality of music.But most of them are imported from MJ,Yanni,Madonna etc..

  For a movie like BOYS that carries ARR's name the casettes woule be produced in several productionm nits across the sate and there would have been several batchges in the pipeline.

  The dolna song is utter copy of the song "kunnorupoochatti" from the movie velai.

  You can do only one thing. Posting your rediculous words. You have nothing to with ARR's end. Even Hj is making better than parasuram,KV.

  Now both of us are wrong! The guy says they had "ordered" only 60,000 units initially. That means more were obviously produced for inventory. So it now clears how Boys sold 3 lac units!
  
  Paran, star audio have themselves sold 3 lac units so that is in India alone!
  
  Velai is a very good album by YSR! However this accusation that dolna is copied from Kunnoru Poochatti is old and stale and has already taken a beating with some sane individuals with good ears remarking how silly that comparison is.
  
  God I dont know what will happpen to IR fans if we reveal the no of songs that Copy Cat ripped off from Mozart! Bloody copy cat IR! Only thing is that he is immensely talented in dressing Mozart songs for his dandanakka songs and get away from these ignorant and illiterate thambis and aiyyas from villages who will never be able to find out his rip-offs from Eastern european WCM composers

  Go to any IR's threads and you will find people are discussing TO THIS DAY abt many obscure movies of IRs because they have bloody good songs and outstanfing BGM.
  
  All this blabber abt tabloid's saying how much CDs were sold etc.etc. will it matter to you?
  Ok, lets accept that ARR music has the best sales ever for every single one of his albums. Now let me ask u, how much of those music stays in u? You don't even have to say actually. We all know the answer.

  iam pasting here the story frm the link provided by Tejas as proof for the question i had asked him "show me the article where they hav said 3 lac units of Boys had been sold"
  
  A spokesperson of Star Music Audio company told Sify.com: “The audio of Boys is doing amazing business. We had initially ordered for 60,000 casettes but within 20 days we have already sold over 1, 50, 000 cassettes and CD’s!”
  
  Everybody of us read 1,50,000 as 1 LAC AND 50 THOUSAND While MADDY, Paran and Tejas read this as 3 LAKHS - WOWWWWW we now know how DUMBBBBB these ARR fans are.the figure given by star music is almost near my figure of 1,04,000 while its very far frm 3,00,000.
