6 Songs : Mind Blowing!!
Source :HinduTimes

Simply mind-blowing
November 20
Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”
Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.
Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

SDJ:
So how do we know what songs are popular among the crowd??? Any place to check??
Among the crowd: If you are a music fan and you are out in the real world, you can easily grasp what songs are popular. It is not a rocket science. Instead of looking at countdowns, listen to FM stations and even turn to TV channels for programs playing people's choices. That is one place you can check out for people's pulse.
In the industry: how many people are coming back to a MD will also tell u who is doing good business in the industry.
And the best option is don't jump into conclusion that it's a hit or miss in couple of days. It will not give you true picture.

AE is expected to do very well......but i doubt so, cos ppl.'s taste have drastically reduced,so they wont accept songs like "fanah" and "janaganamana".........well one can pray that it becomes a hit and nuthin more than that......
in hindi, it is a very sweet problem for ARR and his fans....Yuva needs to beat "chinnamma chilakkamma" and "Nachle" to top the charts......
Meenaxi is really rocking Mumbai big time...... i listen to it on FM almost around 20-25 times a day......way to go ARR......

Rahman - Return of the King!
By Moviebuzz
Thursday, 18 March , 2004, 13:33
Rahman-Mani Ratnam combination has once again struck gold with Aayitha Ezhuthu album. The first three-day audio sales have crossed the magic figure of 1 lakh!
No Tamil film audio has done such fantastic opening sales in recent times. Said a spokesperson of Sony who is marketing the audio: "Aayitha Ezhuthu audio sales is phenomenal at a time when music industry is going through bad times. And people seems to be going crazy about the songs."
Normally a hit Tamil audio sale is around 40,000 to 50,000 units sold over a period of three months. But this audio has created history as it may cross 3 lakhs even before the release of the film and if the film is a hit, it will do business close to 5 lakhs units, something that happened a few years back regularly with audios of Indian, Gentlemen, Roja, Bombay and Alaipayuthe.
The most popular song in the album is Jana Gana Mana sung by Rahman and Karthik followed by Hey Goodbye Nanba sung by Sunitha Sarathy, Shankar Mahadevan, Lucky Ali and Karthik.

Undeniably, A.R. Rahman is a complete original. And the soundtrack of YUVA more than proves the fact, living up to the humungous hype and expectations surrounding it.
When two giants - Mani Ratnam and A.R. Rahman - join hands to create music, expect nothing but sheer magic. We haven't forgotten the gems composed by Rahman in Ratnam's ROJA, BOMBAY and DIL SE…, have we? Now add YUVA to this illustrious list.
YUVA has five songs in all and one music piece, but if you ask me my favourite, it would undoubtedly be the music piece [filmed on Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherji] and 'Shukriya Meherbaani' [filmed on Vivek Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor], in that order.
The 3-minute music piece proves why A.R. Rahman is still the numero uno. The orchestration is rich and the sound is amazingly different. In fact, the racy music reminds you of the music played at clubs throughout Europe. And, don't be surprised, if it takes the Indian nightspots by storm as well…
Since the film is titled YUVA and talks about youth, the music of the film has been designed keeping the essence of the film in mind.
The title track [filmed on Ajay Devgan], 'Suno Suno' [filmed on Ajay Devgan, Esha Deol] and 'Hone Do Dil Ko Fana' [filmed on Vivek Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor] are sure to find a place in the Top 10 charts of music countdowns.
Of course, no Rahman album would be complete without a soft, seeped-in-melody track. And YUVA has that in the form of 'Kabhi Neem Neem, Kabhi Shahed Shahed' [filmed on Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherji].
Undoubtedly, YUVA is amongst Rahman's best offerings!
The writer was invited for an exclusive preview of the songs of YUVA by Venus, the music company that is marketing the album. The soundtrack is expected to hit the stores on March 18, 2004.
great start.its seems that the film story line is also very different.i dont want to tell u a spoiler.there is a twist in the films climax.for now lets enjoy the gr8 music.

I Shudder when I listen to this Ezhuthu
where is the melody, that MSV, IR and AR produced in the past, Duet for example for AR. I find it noisy and violent. Perhaps, they would seem better after watching the movie, like Devar Magan. But for the moment, I find Ezuthu repulsive.

I fail to understand why the sify article is being reproduced so many times word for word. Please stop,we all now know what it says.If anybody comes across a good link, post it&if you visit every day, then do a check of where you were yesterday&who has posted what in the meantime. That will ensure the same info is not given by everybody. Also ARR fans&haters, plz keep bad lingo out.Evertbody has his/her opinion.Somebody might like the songs&some ppl will not.Just leave it at that.As for me,i haven't heard the songs,so no opinion. But i believe,Mani-IR have given more brilliant songs/music than Mani-ARR.It's my opinion&i am not a IR/ARR fan or IR/ARR hater.I like good music irrespective of MD/language.

And again people commenting on melody...very funny. imagine three violent youths leading a procession of youngsters. will they be singing "nalla perai vaanga vendum pillaiagle" and drag everyone to the street?
I think music direction should be not be formula like sp muthuraman or p vasu formula
1 amma/thangachi/periappa song
1 friends making fun of girls song
1 romantic song
1 romantic song with loads of sadness
1 motivating song.
che..
Thank god ARR/Mani are not bound by these shackles....
Melody song is good. but it should be there if situation demands it. Not necessary every movie needs a melody song..
