  excellent throughout.
  
  There are various ragam in it. Please discuss on
  the tail violin piece of this song is it THODI.

  I thought "azhage sugama" in PP was SAHANA...
  
  Sreenivas, i initially posted it "amma amma enthan aar oyire" from "uzhaipaali" as sivaranjani only...posted here for validation...

  Kupps...how dare you use the word PTRTTs saying," From now onwards i won't call PTRTTs as PTRTTs."...By that statement you have already used PTRTTs twice, by which you have made PTRTTs 'twice' as angry as they would normally be, if we called them PTRTTs. So, hereafter, never use the term PTRTTs if you want to refer to any PTRTTs.

  MS want to know whats going on? Let me explain you.
  
  On IR's(of our forum) request(or shall i say order) IR_Fan agreed not to call you PTRTTs anymore as PTRTTs. He also called for the same from me ie not to call you PTRTTs as PTRTTs, for which I agreed that from now onwards I won't call PTRTTs as PTRTTs. But velramanan found fault in that statement of mine. He says by referring you PTRTTs twice as PTRTTs in the statement "from now onwards I won't call PTRTTs as PTRTTs" I have dared to err. He feels thus I might have angered you PTRTTs twice as I called you PTRTTs twice as PTRTTs. So he(velramanan) told me that hereafter if I wish to call you PTRTTs as PTRTTs I should not call you PTRTTs as PTRTTs because by calling you PTRTTs as PTRTTs I make you PTRTTs to get anger twice because I call you PTRTTs twice as PTRTTs. So hence I decided to oblige velramanan to not to refer you PTRTTs as PTRTTs anymore not even twice as PTRTTs.

  IR_Fan and Rajesh - somehow I felt a strong influence of Dwijavanthi too in that song besides Sahana - the tail piece is indeed in beautiful sahana... have heard that song just once... I may be wrong

  what is the raga of 'Maasi Maasam Aalana Ponnu' song from dharmadurai???
  someone told me it is 'sudha dhanyasi'... but the song uses Ri swara...

  Prabhu - u r right - "maaman unakku thaane" for example has the ri note - Sudhha Dhanyasi plus Ri2 would make a very rare raga called Pushpa Lathika (Sa Ri2 Ga2 Ma1 Pa Ni2 Sa - Sa Ni2 Pa Ma1 Ga2 Ri2 Sa)... It is strange that this raga is not popular while another raga by name "MaNiRangu" is more popular and there are lots of compositions in that raga - MaNiRangu does not have Ga2 in aarohanam (Sa Ri2 Ma1 Pa Ni2 Sa - Sa Ni2 pa Ma1 Ga2 ri2 sa)

  IR...I am told that there is one song in raaga "Manirangu"..."Suga raagame, en suga bogam neeye" from film Kanni Raasi (Janakaraaj & Revathi pair in that song)(Directed by Pandiarajan, and Prabhu is the hero)...Nice funny song...

  Below is the excerpts from one Mr. Mahadevan Ramesh's article A Gentle Introduction to South Indian Classical Music. This might answer your other question, i suppose.
  
  
  Interestingly, even the Melakarta selection algorithm allows us to choose all seven white keys, the same as the Western C Major scale. In Karnatic music, we call the resulting Melakarta ragam as Shankarabharanam. (You may have even heard of this ragam) In Hindustani music, the set of all white keys is called the 'Bilaval thaat', one of the major building blocks of Hindustani musical system.
