Kannathil Mutahmital sales???

Well its been nearly 2 weeks since Kannathil muthamital has been released. There has been some bashing and praise for the album (a normal thing when it comes to rahman album). Personaly i was disappointed only liking the title number and 'vellai pookal'. But now after repeated listening i love the songs..especially signore.
But i dont know how it is doing in India and overseas? I read somewhere it has had a phenomenon response. Can anyone enlighten us??? and please be serious i dont want some raja or YSR fan to write "a flop..a rahaman is gone! long live YSR!!!". Please give us some facts.

  'aboorvasagodharargal' had gone for the oscars? why? okay, it was a really entertaining movie with good tamil music...but oscars? the big hype i remember about that film was about the special effect with shortening kamal's legs...but is that enough to send the film to the oscars, as india's contribution?

  These so-called official Indian entries for oscars is a big joke...
  The closest contender of late (many moons ago) was 'Salaam Bombay' which atleast got nominated but failed at the finals. Shekar Kapoor's Bandit Queen wasn't even sent by the committee.
  
  How does one explain India's earlier official entry, JEANS??
  How naive can these people be!!!
  Was it sent for its Venky-Monkey brand 'skeletal' (pun intended) Special FX? Or was it because we showed the 7 wonders in one song? Or was it ex-MsWorld Aishwarya who the committe thought would bring the luck? ARR fans would want to believe that it was for Kannodu KaNbathellaam!!!

  Look at the movies which have won Oscars for the last few years- Gladiator, American Beauty. India should not send an entry to Oscars.

  is it because of the vayatherichal of IR fans that they are queuing in to post in this thread.. "if MR had stuck to IR" ..etc

  they find their theories disproved for the nth successive time and so they kottify their vayatherichal here..
  
  why talk about ARR's BGM etc.... nowadays even if IR's BGM is howling no one except nostralgic TFMDF'ers even care to talk about it...
  
  so my question again is what is IR's name doing in this thread.

  Search for Raja.
  The title post contains "and please be serious i dont want some raja or YSR fan to write". That was omitted.
  The second occurrence of Raja was in WhyNot's post.

  Spock, don't be so naive.
  I have been in forum long enuf to recognise some HCIRFs by their ids (eg. Cheenu, yaaro, Pras) and knew where the ARR attacks were coming from. If you want to be more specific, sometimes 'raja' is also referred to as "King", the 'genius' etc. So do a more complete search. And I believe I did talk about IR and his family before that post u mentioned above, without refering to him even once, and the same can happen with other posters too. Simply doing a name search tells u next to nothing. You need to understand the hidden meanings and the motivations behind the posts, and the same goes for the HCIRFs' posts too.

  My intention was not to make you look like a topic hijacker. Even though Bharath has been around for a long time, he thinks IR Fans have hijacked this thread. Just thought of pointing him out you never know what twists and turns a thread can take with so many different opinions being expressed. You can play the blame game all day in a forum such as this.
  
  Anyways, I just dropped by to see if there is anything here that would help me decide whether KM was worth listening. I believe I am a little closer to the answer though not much as I had hoped. Upon reading Bharath's post, couldn't help taking a swipe at it. Sorry about the digression. Let the party roll on!

  Precisely why I tell you are far removed from the media or affairs in TN to make an objective analysis of anything..
  
  For starters, look up the "Azhagi" reviews in -
  Ananda Vikatan, Kumudam, Hindu, Kalki, sify.com, chennaionline.com, ambalam.com, aaramthinai.com .. - you would categorise ALL these reviewers as deaf HCIRFs is it? How about Theodore Bhaskaran, Gowri Ramnarayan? Rabid HCIRFs??
  
  I fully endorse your opinion that mindless ARR-baiting has no place in this thread, but in your haste to prop up ARR's image by trashing IR, you come up with some obnoxious comments as is your wont. IN this, you prove yourself no better than the HCIRFs you're out to target..

  But on the serious side..on the topic of objectivity.. If you look at my review of KM. I have not written mindless eulogies about the music..
  
  I am pretty much impressed by IR's BGM skills and I am well aware that ARR's BGM quality levels are quite inconsistent. But he has done some good jobs of it in the past.
  
  My outright trashing of IR somewhat parallel's my trashing of SPB when raghuvaran..idol washes SPB mindlessly..
  
  I am not sure whether whynot is an ARR/IR fan... but if he was the one who brought IR in he is included in my list...

  i keep telling you suresh I am not. you confuse my references to IR not being hot anymore to mean IR is not talked about at all..
  
  All the news media you talked about have online editions...and I read them regularly...
  
  but i know very well that some of the media are just made up by 3 or 4 guys who create a web page and post their own opinions..
  
  for e.g in a bigger website like rediff... i wudnt value shoba warriers opinions because i know its her opinion that any worthwhile news...
  
  similarly i can differenciate between news and gossip the list u have given..
  
  i wudnt on face value trust sify, chennaionline and ambalam... i have been reading "rani" mag for a decade i still think its trash.. look the "vaaramalar" edition of dhinamalar news paper.. wud anyone in their right sense believe it...
  
  so..I am well aware of what happening current as much as the next man..
