  u mean to say he controls the ticket rate?! ... theatre owners-a kaelunga! ... i'll tell u neways, its coz of his popularity ... no one in the present market is as popular as Rajni ... Rajni's fault??

  Rajni, i remember did such acts to help others ... as in he did Annamalai for Balachander without taking money (i dunno if he got any after the movies success) .... and he did Mapillai for Chiranjeevi without money (he got a property after the movies success - the Raghavendra Kalayana Mandapam land is wat he got)
  can u please quote such acts by ur favorites, whoever that is? .. no nakkals ... i wanted to know, seriously pa! :-)
  
  and Rajni openly admitted that he lost interest in films ... this film,if he does,is just a try to end on a sucess note...din happen for MGR, lets see neways...hehe...don treat this as a justification for y Rajni asks money!! :-)) ... that was just for some info!

  i was sure hat rajini distributed some areas, and by selling the movie at a high price he indirectly affects the cost of tickets right?
  
  no there is nuthin wrong with advance bookin, but what happened was quite wrong dont u believe?no actor realli demands a salary, they are offered the salary and they accept.im sure kamal has done sum in the same style as rajini like u said to help.

  Piratheepan, please know the history and talk.Do u know the market value of Super Star.I don't think other than AMithabh in Indain movie history has such a wide market like Super star.He is just like the other great stars in Andhra,Karnataka and Kerela which form the rest of South Indian film industry.Talking about tamilnadu, we know that the theater owners , distributors and producers always made huge profit out of this guy.He never gave any loss to the producer.Do u know something when Natukkoru Nallavan failed miserabley, its producer Ramasamy(father of the director ravichandran) fell sick.Even its a big mistake by Ravichandran he took the blame and gave the distribution rights of annamalai to that banner, which was such a roaring success helped them to come back.Samething with sathya movies.After the flops like Nilapennae,Enga thambi, they were almost gone.He personally called R.M.Veerappan and told that he is ready to do a movie for Sathya movies.Thats nothing but Baasha.I don't need to tell, how much money Sathya movies would have fetched from that movie.Samthing with Panchu ARunachalam also, He personally requested them to produce Veera in order to help them.He was all the time successful and gave profit to the industry.He slipped in BABA.That happens for every other actor.It doesn't mean tht people didn't like Super star.Its about the movie lagged the current trend.Again he took the blame on him and paid back.I don't think anyone in the world cinema have evr done that.I can openly challenge anyone, that his next project will defenitley be a big success, bcoz he knows how to get to that.Then the guys like you will realize What Super star means.....

  1)he starts off rich realizes he doesnt belong to the family go off on his own make it big or find out who his dad is and come back to the family and say hahahahaha
  
  2)or he starts off poor makes it big but goes back to his roots in the end.

  so im an a$$ cuz i dont think the exact same way as u?interesting let me take note of that.
  
  as for who i feel is much better then rajini well there are a few 1)vikram has the complete package and i like the way he is still not stuck in college in his movies.=P 2) Madhavan at times, when he is not doing the lover boy role and being mature. & 3)Prakash Raj not afraid to experiment and gives great performances all the time.Daya was a great movie.
  
  off screen ive heard that vikram is a really down to earth friendly guy who is all abt his fans.Madhavan does charitable events and what not i hear for his lil groups such as PETA.
  
  as for HJ i feel he'll do a good job if he's MD cuz he poved his worth for a masala movie with Saamy
