  Im not sayin Kamal doesnt copy at least he doesnt deny hes being inspired but rajini doesnt say a word is all im saying everyone awes and ooos abt watching the same movie over and over theres nuthin ever new with a rajini movie.Id like to see him act his age like sathyaraj did in Maaran that was a great movie.

  wat are u expecting? .. i mean, a press conference announcing and acknowldeging the 'source film'?? ... i dunno if Rajni was ever asked abt this for him to deny!! ... u think ppl are bothered abt wat is there in his film at this stage??! .... he may not even have enuf knowldege about the Hollywood flicks that u are talking about! ;-)
  it is after Baasha that Rajni got a bit stale ... like there were some expectations that he needed to fulfil and so he had no other choice is what i feel ... Rajni movies are without doubt hero oriented and that is pretty obvious knowing the image that he has....u cant expect an Anbe Sivam or a Pithamagan kinda thingy ... he is beyond experimentation now ... no purpose in doing when he is going to retire - just one more movie ... too much of hero dominance is wat gives u the feeling of watching the same thing again and again
  
  wat do u have to say abt Vijay and Chimbhu who are just aping him without realising one bit ... they arent going to retire or anything ... they want to be the next Super Star and it is sad if such ppl who just copy get to the throne next ... i personally prefer ppl like Vikram whom i feel has got some originality

  Super star movie is not based on anyones individual preference.He always look for a mass appeal subject.So only the great directors struggle to fit to his image.He transformed himself to the tren all the time in his career.When he started he was just acting with Kavithalaya's movies which were so called trend setters in 70's.When there was a new trend of making movies with rural subjects he got into that and gave hits like 16 vayathinilae,Murattukalai and Engaeyo Ketta Kural.Then when Mahendran came in , he was with their unit and gave art movies like Mullum Malarum and Jhonny.Even he acted in Balumahendra's Un Kannil Neer Valindhal.There came the robin hood stories.He is the one who gave big hits in that trend either, like Naan Sigappu Manithan, Naan Mahaan Alla. When K.Balaji started making the Gangster and Underworld movies, he fit to the trend by giving Magnanimous performance on Thee(hindi Don) , Billa (Hindi Gambler) and so on.Evevrything have become a roaring success.After all these the Directors like Rajasekar,S.P.Muthuraman and Sundarajan , have set a trend of making movies successful with their fast paced screenplay.Then also he was the hot favourite for those directors in portraying that trend.You can see in late eighties, the movies like Thambikku Entha Ooru, Manithan and Rajathi Raja only bcoz of his image and the screenplay that fit to his image.You guys will be so surprised to know when Nayagan got Relased Manithan and Uzhavan Magan were also in the race.Nayagan stood 3rd in the race where Manithan took first and Uzhavan Magan took the second place.When Amithabh and Chiranjeevi failed, Rajini was good enough to give hits like Baasha,Muthu and Padayappa , everybody in the industry wonedered how he was doing that.Its nothing but he changed himself to the trend all the time.He brought in the right talents.See Suresh Krissna and K.S.Ravikumar, they were hot in the industry with their powerful screenplay and presentation.Same with ARR, who did wonders to Super stars movies.Now its the right time for him to look for the different trend where the next generation directors and MD's are doing good.He is just trying to fit himself to the current trend.He will do it.We have to understande its not that easy to be a super star in TamilNadu where the people encourage only the right talents.

  Chimbhu annoys me by trying too hard, vijay has talent but he refuses to use it. I agree with u abt vikram but see his hero oriented movies tend to be different is what im saying. Rajini doesnt need to do the poor-rich-poor or the rich-poor-rich formula.realli doesnt matter who md is cuz they already kno what kinda songs they ned to give. Intro,3 duets, and the song where his life changes.
  
  yes id expect in the press conference for them to say where they get inspired from stead of blatantly stealing. Just the way SJ Surya said ive been inspired by Big.
  
  If kamal can still experiment im sure rajini can and still have his cliches in it.Like a mmovie like Maaran would have room for rajinis BS in it and have a good story.

  Hahaha no Bala sir all it has to do with is staying with the same formula for rajini.Im talking 90's+ once he established himself.Everyone knows why rajini is successful there isnt any magic to it just simple business tactics. All he does is
  1) starve ppl of his movies so they will flock to see it
  2) And gauge them for all its worth great example Baba....cept he got caught this time and had to repay sum of it.

  u expect a press conference for things that Rajni does?? .... Kamal should have spent half his life in press conferences if he acknowledges the source! ... im not degrading Kamal here and i wudnt coz hes my next favourite ... but whenever there is a Kamal movie, i find an article about it mentioning the original movie or something like that....i dont think Kamal ever does any talking about these movies ... y do u expect Rajni to do it?
  
  and u dont get it...Rajni has got into the stereo type thingies now and that's wat people want - Rajni combating others!....there is no point in doing some experiment in ur last movie ... he is better in things in which he is more saleable!

  this has been cleverly interpreted by you ... he said he doesnt wish to do movies very often ... he is too much into all these spirtual stuff and half the time isnt in town!
  
  he repayed the losses incurred by the distributors for Baba....i dun see any actor doing such an act ... all Kamal did was to blame Rajni for bringing such a practice!

  he didnt pay the full amt u kno rajini banked alot becuz he sold the rights for soo much.its not the actors fault rajni just tried to save face so he could fool everyone again with his next movie.

  Randomaa statement adikka oru ellaiye illaiyaa...Ungalukku eppadi sir therium avar full amount kodukkalenu.Distributors wanted to make astronomical profits and they were ready to pay the heavy price...They didnt make the profits.. But unlike the other losers, Rajni atleast had the courtesy to repay the money understanding the plight of the distributors. Tamil cinemakku idhellam romba pudhusu...Keatta foolingnu sollareenga...Nattula nalladhu senjaalum thappu.. Vittu odhungi irundaalum thappu. Kali mothipochudoi!!!

  He compensated the losses incurred. Isn't that more than enough for u? Who do u think does these things? U are now saying that he did this act so that people buy his next film? Do u know that Rajni/Vikram are the only heroes whom the producers are willing to invest in without thinking of any damn thing? With such a popularity, why should he do all this? He is more saleable than any other person and doesnt need to worry about all this.

  It is obvious that a star is dependant on his fans to make money. It is acceptable as long as he doesnt use it for any evil purpose and Rajni never did.

  Let me ask u this why should his movie tickets sell for more?why should he sell coupons for the cd so ppl can get it in advance but then they dont.its all marketing skeems from him.
  
  and as for ur question id say sumone who acts for the love of acting not money.
  
  back to the topic tho,think Hj can do a decent job he already has tunes ready to be rehashed with his songs from Saamy so he's set to go.=P
