What a disappointment!
After the excellently sung songs of Duet I was expecting the collaboration of Rahman and SPbala in this album....but it was not to be!!!!
I feel Rahman is deliberately excluding SP bala from his projects to avoid sharing the success with him!

Karthik S:
I don't know any thing about My Game or your game. I go by what you say here (in this context). Is there a resemblence if any in any of the tracks in that movie.
Flifo: If what you have said stands no ground here, then you can magnanimously tender your apology. It will speak for your unbias attitude towards any MD. Will you?
This applies to me too. See me in COPYING - IN TAMIL FILM HISTORY. I too have an allegation (not against IR ofcourse). Karthik S help me.

Digression :
>>>fan: kennedy, reagon, clinton, thatcher, did not commit daylight robbery, murder, vote fraud, bribery, etc and still become CM without getting elected. When any of these people die, u won't see dozens of their hero-worshippers burning themselves to death (thee kulli). So don't even BEGIN TO COMPARE!!!! Something's seriously warped in the minds of these people!<<<<
Kennedy, Thatchter, Reagan, Clinton are mass murderers no different from our own politicians.
My blood boils when someone says that they are honest to God politicians.

Karthik thanks for posting the set of track lists..this does not help much..because none of these songs contain a vocal ...The one I am talking is a full fledged song which is at the end of the movie (while titles are running)..I don't see that song in the list...
"The pill...makes you... big" or something is the starting line..(It would be more interesting to hear the White Plane song completely..just listen to the the humps..) So I hope somebody can be more helpful on this..I will try to get the complete track and post it here...
'If what you have said stands no ground here, then you can magnanimously tender your apology. It will speak for your unbias attitude towards any MD. Will you
I don't think there is enough evidence to prove or disprove at this point...I have not mentioned anything about the MD yet..Too much clinging, without sufficiently hearing also can be a sort of biasness (though u have mentioned it below)...So just listen to the song and and say yes or no and stop there..Extrapolating more from this is not my responsibility...

When u state a musician's composition had its original tune taken from another song, how can it not be an insult?
When I posted set of postings months before about the copying stuffs the respective MD's HC fans jumped towards me saying, Hey Fliflo..that is not copying and that is "what is called an inspiration" and you don't understand that.. Fine..then I refined my mind over the meaning of copying in this context that it is only the extent of copying decides whether it is an inspiration or a copy...
When deva remade "Akila Akila" from the famous Bob Marley's "Buffalo Soldier" a big group rose to sky high giving a "big" copy seal! Poor deva! And on another day when it had to take a different turn comparing "nadha vindhu..namo nama..with "en veethu thotathil .." a prominent group attempted to teach the meaning for inspiration...I totally agree the fact that I am an irresponsible critic, however yet not succeeded in differentiating between "copy" and inspiration in the above example...well if this is the case, then I dare to make such insults in the future...Sorry about that
"Fliflonnu oruthan "Copy" nnu sonna
take it easy policy"
...like how deva does....

"well said, if some states fact, in this thread it is regarded as fact, if some one says Hariharan has a nasasl & unni krishnan has a feminine voice, it is regarded as an insult."
so saying that hariharan has a nasal voice (meant of course in a negative way) is not an insult, but utter fact?...hahaha...really funny...
what is the best voice friends? what is it? how do u define this? why do u people actually think that SPB has such a great voice? can u give me a real explanation? (it's not that i disagree, but would like to know how u see it)
it's actually the same with KJ Yesudas...(i can always compare it with the malayalam industry)...for me SPB and KJ Yesudas play in the same 'high' playground...they are legends...but still, there are so many songs which i don't just 'want' them to sing...cause other voices would better fit to those songs...(of course all IMO), in malayalam for example m.g.sreekumar is such a nice alternative to yesudas...his voice is completely different from that of great yesudas (yesudas is to me some kind of existing formula...a fix value...a value on which the others can compare themselves)...but then m.g.sreekumar, he may be not that great genius, but his voice gives our ears another treat...
actually it's like the beauty of a woman...
see...there is for example role models like pamela anderson and others who put up a certain kind of common definition for beauty into ur minds...and this is for me yesudas, SPB (hey, no, don't misunderstand me...i'm not comparing these great singers with pamela anderson!!! my god!!!) in music, they seem to be kind of perfect...
but then there is a manisha koirala with her broken front-teath, or a michelle pfeifer with a strange looking face, or a look at kareena kapoor...would u say she is a 'perfect' beauty? never ever...or best is in malayalam film, don't know if u know her, manju warrier (some say, on of the best actress in malayalam film ever. she unfortunately resigned 2 years back after marriage): if u look at her teaths...it's actually a middle catastrophe...or her nose...BUT still, she was admired my so many people...u won't believe it...
so what i'm trying to say is, IMO, it's all those small 'wrongs' in a person which makes him interesting and admireable...be it hariharan's nasal voice or unnikrishnan's extremely soft voice, or shankar mahadevan's 'rude' voice...if u learn to enjoy these 'wrongs' then believe me, these singers will be a pleasure for ur ears...
raycas.
p.s.: with "when will u guys stop insulting others?" i actually meant 'the DON's' message, not really fiflos...but that what he said was not right either...so...

fliflo,
cool message i must say, am impressed.
see...if u say this or that song is an utter copy (or inspiration) of another song, then this should base on a valid proof... i mean how often people have said that so many songs of ARR are copies of some other old song...fact is, most of them couldn't be prooved, cause perhaps those songs had the same raaga or a small, 5 seconds lasting portion in it, which an old song had...and bamm...the people say: copy! but that just can't be copying..it should be really evident...okay, how u define that is, well, another question.
for example a definite attempt of direct copying done by deva which i can remember now is: 'i love u' from 'citizen' copied from sasha's 'i feel lonely'!!! i mean this was so obvious...even an idiot would admit that this was a copy...i don't know why deva is doing this....perhaps he liked that so much and thought most of the tamilians wouldn't be knowing sasha's song...or he did a kind of 'cover version' of sasha's song (like madonna did with 'american pie' from don mclean or even great joe cocker did the same with 'unchain my heart' from ray charles) or he just wanted to create a tamil song with the same tune...to see how it sounds in tamil...god knows...
karthik s has a site where u can inform urselves about these 'copying/inspiration' affairs...and i admit...even ARR has a number which i don't quite understand how it comes that he released that song: the one i mean is 'hallo mr. ethikakchi' from 'iruvar', which has the exact (long) opening as a song from the soundtrack of the film 'the firm' with tom cruise...here i also don't understand ARR...
well, well...

>>Kennedy, Thatchter, Reagan, Clinton <<
They may be mass murderers Cosmician, but they did pay the political price of their actions and have all have stepped down from politics, if not by assassination, by disgrace (except reagan who is anyway mentally unstable now). You don't have fan clubs for them or political die-hards prepared to die for them...That is the Difference! None of them are trying to make political comebacks, or making revenge vows.
>>My blood boils when someone says that they are honest to God politicians. << Well I didn't say anything like that, but I did say they still did not/could not get re-elected unlike the politicians in Tamil Nadu. (I was confirming what raycas said about hero worship in TN) and there wasn't and won't be any thee kuliyal when any of them die.
Now, I hope that Ends the "Social Service Digression"

>"in malayalam for example m.g.sreekumar is such a nice alternative to yesudas...his voice is completely different from that of great yesudas (yesudas is to me some kind of existing formula...a fix value...a value on which the others can compare <" ha ha ha biggest joke in Malayalam History, How can you compare Dr.KJY with an ordinry singer like M.G.Sreekumar, I just can not stop laughing,
why bring pamela, julia Roberts, ...etc, into this topic, it is irrelevant.
Hey, what the heck, SPB is singimg for ARR in Ali Arjuna!!!

raycas mentioned pamela anderson as an analogy. I can't agree more. Another example to add to the analogy is beautiful Simran who has a twisted nose and gorgeous Aish Rai who has a twisted right upper lip. (Before anyone disagress, look very very carefully.)
And I don't think he wanted to compare sreekumar with yesudas. The fact that though KJY is alot better than sreekumar, and yet he wouldn't suit certain songs, was what raycas was trying to say, I think. I agree, raycas.
There are so many examples around. Like mano changed his voice to sing in Muqala Muqabla, but one can't imagine legends like SPB or KJY doing something like that.
Anyway, I don't think ARR comitted any crimes in leaving SPB out of PP or that he has any evil schemes or ulterior motives behind it. I'm sure SPB will be singing in many more ARR songs to come, so his fans shouldn't fret too much.

why not,
thanks...at least u got what i meant!
yes, i didn't want to compare mg sreekumar with yesudas, just said he is such a nice alternative....
yeah, what u wrote about voice changing singing, has SPB got a 'normal' (i mean a usual) voice? i mean for example in this new film 'nandhaa', he sings very high, right? sounds somehow different from the way he usually sings...and even yesudas did something like that once i remember...in the film 'harikrishnans' (that film which reunited mohanlal and mammooty after a long time), in the song 'ponnambel puzhayirambil' yesudas sang in 2 different 'voices', for mohanlal and mammooty. it was not somewhat completely different (but if one listened carefully, u could hear out the difference), it was even written on the cover of the cassette!
anyway,

this last message from why not was a good ending message for this thread IMO... i hope...
