Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....
Also; use this thread to discuss this album..
Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

V!!
Who cares!!
IR visited Hungary to do Hey Ram
This analogy sucks, still IR came up with a complete good music album!! and Timefactor very less (atleast less than 2 years)...
It adds value nevertheless to visit the local areas to have SMELL of what music they give!!

Going thru all ARR vs. IR posts, I think most of you are forgetting the important factor here i.e. Money or more precisely $$. We need people who will provide entry for Indian talent pool from Tamil, Hindi movie fields to world market. This should result in backdoor entry for many background artists or technicians. We need to create income source in various industrial, cultural sectors. Just like many of Indian software professional travel USA to earn bread & butter, let people from tamil /hindi movie industries enter into world market. Looking at BD’s success there will be more who will realize potential of Indian talent. Just like the way SK introduced ARR to UK; Unfortunately with IR , his skills got exposed only to tfm. If ever he faced right market, he could have worked wonders with his originality. So please don’t limit artist to local market, let his work flow into places.

IR visited Hungary to introduce a Hunagrian flavor to Hey Ram??
Please rad my post carefully. ARR did not make these visits to have a gala time or to tell the press boastfully that he went there and met this guy and that guy!
ARR's visit was to make him feel how the visuals of the movie were going to come out. Accordingly he can compose the soundtrack to compliment the canvas
Now the stupid analogy you gave about IR visiting Hungary is completely out of place?? For what did he visit? He did it for recording the songs with Laszlow Kovach and his symphony. Not to research Hungarian music!

Mr V ,
"Now the stupid analogy you gave about IR visiting Hungary is completely out of place?? For what did he visit? He did it for recording the songs with Laszlow Kovach and his symphony. Not to research Hungarian music"
Indeed IR went the second time in 2000 (or 2001) to do research in music !!!!Nobody is questioning the spontainety of ARR !! Also composing just once spontaneously will not be indication of his spontaneous music .Better will be to say we don't know about his capability !!!!
But IR's spontaneous talent was apprecited by eminent composers like John Scott and conductors like Laslo Kovach !!!!

"2.he composes tunes very fast… but his fillings in the Background and interlude takes more time…. He keeps on adding sounds ….. ever wondered y IR’s songs have a thin Background and ARR’s is always loaded heavily….. "
sounds like you know something..but the problem is mainly recording..IR recording quality is very bad and on top of that the vocals has high volume.
also you cannot do this for melody songs..Anyways..dont kid us..ARR takes lot of time to because he has to listen through all the sample CDs and latest albums to get the latest sound, right ?

DEar arpeggiator,
I've read Srinivas interview on the net somewhere...will try to get it ..
he mentioned...
ARR will tell them tune to sing..and ask them to rehearse..and within 2 minutes he will come up with a wonderful tune...
and they sing based on that..
but when the song actually gets released..it will sound so much different from what the singers have heard while in the studio...
so u..see...(whatever u suppose to see)

do u guys know that ARR composes 10-12 tunes for each song and it is the director's choice to select the tunes... no wonder Shankar,Mani and Bharathiraja get the best out of ARR..... so ARR is gud and fast in composing tunes too..(IR also does the same thing, but i just want to tell u guys that ARR is no different)

V,
First of all I accepted that It was a stupid analogy by me, but you dont read the discussion fully, just parts, it shows how much you understand or take time to understand.
What i was trying to suggest is, yeah it adds value, but the fact is, IR gave quality music no matter what, and with the time frames being so limited.
I give up, coz you guys dont really know what you are talking, just say something for the sake of it.
I will also take responsibility, coz I am not in India or in TN to verify all that is happening.
Good luck if Boys do perform well!!
( I will still say, Dating is the only song from start to finish that goes smooth (this is my personal opinion and taste) )

Another thing, Atleast i felt the WCM in Hey Ram!!! and can remember the gr8 musical score along with the lots of bits still lingering in my ears.
This is for the matter of fact called FUSION, making even a person who does not know music or lot of musical sense appreciate it, having people sing songs who cannot express Tamil words properly, and apart from that, too much of shouting in the BGMS
May be I am wrong, IR also had be blamed for some of the imports, i really hated KR for making Udit sing the Kasumela song (though it is all my personal opinions), but he did come out with a splending album in ALBUM
this is how I think music should be, songs should have lyrics, nice interludes, and good vocals, BGM should have nice serene life like music that elevates the scene.. IR time and again did that
ARR did not!!! Songs too much of music, lots of unnecessary interludes (may be that is the strength of the song too, i dont know), BGM with lot of noice (people shouting)...
And surely it is not HOLLYWOOD STYLE MUSIC COMPOSING..
