why no female MDs in TFM?

is there any particular reason why females have not made a mark as MD? don't they have the talent or are they forced to remain on the sidelines?

  There's one more aspect to this male-female issue. There are fields within the film industry that are "feminine" where women are able to make their mark, e.g. dance direction. However almost every other creative endeavor, including art direction (which could be considered "feminine" considering the drawing, painting aspects) are male-dominated. Ergo, all women can do is dance, sing, and act... this is the message that seems to be coming from the industry. No chauvinism here, just a staement of facts :--).

  As for wavelength, well, I wonder if this particular character knows of the existence of such a thing as wave to know its lenght in the first place. :))).
