"Sakiye" or "saathiye" (am not sure of the starting).. from "Youth" sounds like "Churake dil mera" (Akshay kumar's Khiladi No.1??)
That song, actually is reused from Telugu "Khushi", again by ManiSharma.

VJ,
probably the same as "Amma endrazhaikkaadha" and "Janani janani" ......... I feel amma endrazhiakkadha is more closer to 'Nee oru kaadhal saangeedham'......particularly the starting piece...

Britto,
Check out the Deva page in my website - 12th entry.
http://www.iespana.es/i2fs/
The original is called Cancao do mar, by Portugese singer Dulce Pontes. It just happened that this song was added in the soundtrack of Primal Fear.

I think this was discussed before here :
Today I heard an old hindi no. "Neele Neele Amber?" on FM when travelling in a cab (so i cudn't get the words clearly). It sounded very much like a Tamil no. maybe En Iniya Pon nilave. Could you throw more light on this ?

why is Deva songs a cause of concern? that guy has no originality, no style, any tune that sounds good is just a fluke. almost all his songs has bits and pieces copied from somewhere or other?
as someone said most of bombay dreams tunes of Rahman are worrying. that "journey home" first stanza is copied from an erasure song, l'amour. anyone noticed that?

Neele neele ambur par is an identical copy of Ilaya nila ONLY in the pallavi. The charanams and the interludes are completely different, catering more to the hindi audience tastes.
Wasn't it Anand-Milind who composed music for that song? They have lifted many IR tunes from both telugu and tamil without any inhibitions.

In your webpage regarding
DR.Albans 'Om we rembwe ike' your web page says RAmesh Vinayakam as MD for that 'Poisollalam'
its wrong the MD for that song is Murugan Iyer brother of singer Anuradha.
MD Ramesh Vinayakam scored music for the only popular song from that movie Hey Nee Romba Azharike is 'Mahomare usumare'
hope you fix that error.

Neele Neela Ambar paar is from Kalakaar(1984 I think). It is a remake of Payanangal Mudivathillai and starred Kunal Goswami, son of the former Indian football captain and Ranji player Chuni Goswami(yes, he played cricket too, for Bengal!). Think sreedevi also came in the movie.
Unlike PM, movie was a flop

the song 'Awaara hoon' from the movie 'Awaara' is supposed to be based on Mozart's 40th symphony in d-minor.
"Itna na mujhse tu pyaar badhaa" is also supposed to be based on Mozart.

KarthikS, try listening to "ennadi gnyaana penne" by Mano from the film Sundara travels with music by Bharani. The pallavi atleast is a 100% lift from an old hindi film song. I dont recall the words exactly but I think it was sung by Rafi for Pran(?!!) who would be crippled and will be moving on wheels singing the song. I think it was quite a popular movie, from 70s probably.

Kaumudi,
In spite of repeated requests in the past, for some reason Karthik S hasn't listed Anand-Milind's note-by-note copies of IR's songs over the late 80s and through the 90's on his page. Perhaps he has a special fondness for Anand-Milind. ;) What say Karthik?
Almost all songs from China Thambi were copied in its Hindi remake: AnAri. Ditto with Agni Nakshathiram - Hindi: Vansh.
The songs from GeetAnjali (Idhayathai ThirudAthey) made their way into the forgettable Hindi copy, 'yAd rakhegi DuniyA'
Let me list the ones that come to my mind:
The film Bhagi had 2 songs:
'Chandni Raat Hai' which was a copy of IR's 'keLadi kaNmaNi' ; and the song 'TapOri, tapOri', was a copy of IR's 'Raja Rajathi RAjan Indha RAja' (Agni nakshatram)
'Dil Mera' from the 90's film 'Ang Rakshak' was a copy of IR's early 80's Johnny classic, 'Asaya kAthula thoothu vittu'
'Tutu tu tutu tAra' from 'BOl rAdhA bOl' was a copy of Dalapathy's 'rAkkamma kaiya thattu'
Their biggest hits like 'Dil' and 'Beta' were full of copied numbers. 'Dil' had 'Oh PriyA priyA' copied from IR's 'Oh PriyA priyA' from GeetAnjali (Telugu) and 'BEtA' (the movie itself was a copy of Bhagyaraj's 'Enga Chinna rAsa') had 'kOyal si tEri bOli' copied from Shankar-Ganesh's 'koNda chEval koovum neram' and the other biggie, 'Dhak dhak karne lagA' was a copy of IR's 'Abbanee Theeyanee' from the Telugu 'JakadEka veerudu AtilOka Sundari' (dubbed in Tamil as 'kAdhal Devathai').
There are many more copies that I am unable to recollect
The duo tried to repeat the same strategy by copying ARR's numbers like 'kAdhal rOjAvE' and a mAy mAdham song, but didn't click, as ARR himself became a mainstream composer for Hindi films.

Is there any similarity between these two songs? I find the tune is somewhat similar. But cleverly modified. are there any similarities? or it is just me. Somehow this Aalana Naal Mudala song instantly came to my mine first when i saw this video.
Song : Aalana Naal Mudala
Film: Kadhal Kavithai
Music: IR
Link: http://www.musicindiaonline.com/music/l/WW000A0C
Song : Gale Mein Laal Taai
Film: Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam
Music: Nikhil-Vinay, Daboo Malik, Bappi Lahiri, Sajid-Wajid, Bali Brahmbhatt (5 MDs) i don't know who scored this song.

You're right. So many of Anand-Milind's tunes are direct copies or "heavy" inspirations of IR's songs. I am sure Karthik has his own reasons IF he is deliberately not listing these copies. I hope he replies to your post.
Another song to add to your list is "Ivvu ivvu" from the telugu film Prema starring Revathy and Venkatesh. This song was copied straight into hindi in which it is called "Aaja aaja give me a kiss, na na na na still I am a miss". The original had wonderful pallavi-charanam combination and pleasant interludes - only some of the brilliance of IR!

on: Tue Oct 8 16:26:47 EDT 2002
Kaumudi,
Prema indeed has some wonderful songs. Another song from the same film 'eenade edo ayyindi' is lifted into it's hindi version "Love" as "Sathiya tune kyakiya". It is a note by note copy of telugu song.
One more observation, the song 'Aaja naa tere bina ...' from the film 'Bol Radha bol' is a direct lift of IR's telugu/tamil song 'Are emayindi' from Aradhana (Suhasini, chiranjeevi).
