All Songs are Good to hear and i'm sure that when u see in theatre it will be very very interesting..I'm sure that all songs will bring great joy to Rajini fans....I'm not a rajini fan..but i liked all the songs...
I did not expect anything in the Baba Music...and after hearing the songs i'm really happy...
1.Rajjyama = Very Nice
2.Baba Kichu Kichu = Very Nice
3.Theme Music = Very Nice
4.Dippu Dippu = Nice
5.Maya Maya = Very Nice
6.Sakthi Kodu = Very Nice
I can give 7/10 for this Rajini film...
This film songs are better than Muthu, Padayappa, Arunachalam etc.,
After hearing single time itself i've given my view here...so this may change after repeated hearings....truly in the positive side only...

ARR does not know how to pick singers.
Any fast songs should be sung by the great SPB ONLY AND IT SHOPULD BE THE FIRST SONG.
any deut songs shd be sung by mano and spb too

rehman lacks focus. may be he was too busy with webber to spend any time for rajini. sorry to say all the songs are much below 'rehman average'. there is no committment and there is a lot of urgency. pls ... somebody remind him... if he is having BOMBAY DREAMS today it is because of kodambakkam ROJA. He has to face reality and on top of all HE HAS TO BE LOYAL TO THE TAMIL INDUSTRY WHICH WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS GROWTH.

I dont believe this! I had to click on old responses 4 times to see Kum Laden's reply to my last post. All within a day.
First, no ram music for me. I'll wait for the original cd (tis time courtesy of Mum), or will listen to it on TV if i get the opportunity. So no comments from me till then.
But judging from the response, it's interesting to note the same few keep bashing the cd wit slightly diff names. i'd discount tat as the newtfmpage antiarr syndrome. From the other credible posts, i'd still have hope. The truth was, I actually disliked Uyire, Jeans and Padayappa the first several times I heard it. Later I grew to love all of them. And watching the movie itself really makes the difference. And the other reason I hated them the first few times I heard it was due to poor audio quality. Tat jus puts me off like anything.
Wow, I've written too much for someone who hasnt heard the songs yet.
Anyway, I'm jus glad to see all the RK & ARR bashing (due to audio not being released) has now ceased abruptly. Reminds me of the RK line "naa eppa varuven,...."

The theme music from Baba, also called as 'Ekamevadhvitheeyam' opens almost exactly like the prominent score from the cult classic 'The Untouchables' with music by Ennio Morricone! Why Rahman chose to lift this so blatantly really beats me, even if figures in Baba for a few fleeting seconds! But this is one lift I just cannot brush off as a coincidence! In the soundtrack of The Untouchables, this tune plays almost throughout the movie, more so for the softer/sadder moments! I've added the track called 'Al Capone' from The Untouchables which probably brings out the copy best, in my opinion!
Check out my site for audio clips of both and compare!

I have listened the songs. Three songs are very good. Those are,
1.Rajiyama Imayama
2.Sakthi Kodu and
3.Maya Maya
Other songs seems to be average. But I cant conclude anything. Because, when Muthalvan came, I heard many people cribbing about the song "Shakalaka Baby". But that had become super hit. Present opinion is "Average Album with some good songs". Interesting part is that the three songs I have listed have good pronounciation too. Regarding this, Rahman please keep it up.

The pick of album is Sakthi Kodu (simply bcos it suits Rajani...)
But again it wuld have been nice to have SPB or Malasiya Vasu for that song....a personal opinion!! The enthu for that song is missing with Karthik's voice....antha maja illaiba

I agree with Ragavan when he says Shakti Kodu, Rajjiyamaa and Maya Maya are very nice.
However I badly miss SPB's opening number for Thalai. How did he agree to this glaring omission??
Apart from that, I didn't need any time for the songs to "grow" on me. They seem OK.. Once we see them on screen with the dynamic presence of Thalai, all worries will be lost..
Meenaks.
