I have few movies mentioned in other threads on YSR but where are the audio's? Have they been released? Such as for Nandha or manathai thirudivitay or Telugu movie? It has been a while since I heard YSR songs

hey bharath,
so STS is onto you now ? this is quite funny .. if u look at his trend, I think he is a self-appointed supporter of IR and his family and a big time derider of our poor ARR. Wherever there
is even a slight comment on (I,K,YS)R he is present with his arguments.
STS, cool down man ... most of the people here are quite unbiased and def'ly appreciate any genuine talent. Don't get emotional cuz some hard core ARR supporter pulls u into some discussion and then start basing ur judgements on that ...
your defense of Vidyasagar is also not very credible .. I agree he has some very good songs to his credit .. but then, also gets 'inspired' quite regularly ... and is no trend-setter .. by any yardstick ..
I have seen u defending Deva in lot of threads .. have u defended SAR too ?? just wanna know ..

MTV is available at Raaga.com. I am looking for the new songs added to Thulluvatho Ilamai. Are they available on the net?

MTV is a good effort by YSR.

He did let me down with copying "still I am sad" into some junk song in "amaravathi" .
Amaraavathi was MDed by Baalabharathy, the MD of Thalaivaasal et al.

Listened to MTV couple of times, sounds good to me. I would rate this album better than 12B and 'ALavandhAn'. 'manjak kAttu' is a sure hit. What happened to Susheela's last song? Didn't she sing for this movie?

MPR,
I have the same Q., What happened to PS's last song ???
One doubt I have - listen to 'Azhagaana Sooriyan' song., Some places the voice looks highly PS-like, Sujatha did some mimicry work or ....

My guess is they might have PS version of 'azhagAna sooriyan' and add it later to the album like they did in TI. BTW, how is the recording?

Are you guys sure azhagaana suriyan is by sujatha?
To me it sounds like sindhu or devi.

hi folks
I love the whole album. And expecially the two songs manja kattu maina, sadu gudu. What a beat in the holiday jollyday and the use of the lead guitar in this song show what a talent he has. The only thing that could have been better is the lyrics to couple of songs. YSR show some of his fathers touch in some of the songs for example the use of flute in songs and the flow in the songs.

I didn't like this album as much as Thulluvadho ilamai. azhagAna sooriyan sounds very 'anonymous'. sadu gudu sounds like some modified hindi song..whats the deal with hard beats in kutti kutti..doesnt he want the song to be 'soft and melodious'. Also, Yuvan sounds like Udit in Holiday Jolliday..But one thing Yuvan is putting in sincere efforts unlike HJ. Its okay..I will still look forward to his next album unlike HJ who is in my proscribed list. I am always for originality.
(NagaS, you are right, recently many of vidyAsAgar's songs sound like something you have heard. May not be a exact copy. It looks like he decided hey..if dEva can do it why should I with all my musical talents be content less # of films..let me churn out more songs..I will change the tune/notes a bit, use a different drums rhythm arrangement ..and I should be okay..sure enough there are more people lining up to him. Cannot blame him but blame the musical sense of the people first).

I am disappointed with this album...I expected a lot. None of the songs have impressed me. Besides I found some similarities/inspirations from IR and ARR. Look at the song "Sadugudu"...pallavi sounded like "Captain Prabhakaran" ramyakrishna song and charanas like "Thillana Thillana" Muthu song.

I heard MTV and I too thought the song Jolly Holiday was by Shankar Mahadevan. The voice is not Yuvan's for sure. I enjoyed the whole album overall.

The.. kutti kutti song.. at the start.. the humming starts liek the start of 'athiri bathiri'
overall the songs are pretty good.. the all day jolly day... something is wrong with that song.. felt like i was hearing some old hindi disco song.. *shrug*
alagana suriyanaey, manja kaattu maina & kutti are pretty good... the color color song... all i can say is.. she shoulds like vasundra

I am not not emotional (at times in other threads). If you say I am a self appointed person supporting IR and his family, so be it. And there are millions like that. My intentions are quite clear.
1) Talk/critize MD/music. Do not critize merely because they are children of IR.
2)Regarding supporting Deva/Vidya saagar, I think I am seeing the good things of this and other MDs. You stick to copying/inspiring? Who is not inspired/copied these days? Why pick and choose some? Deva, Vidya saagar, Sirpi, Bharani, SAR gave many good songs. Why treat them like trash? To me any music is good music as long as they are heard in villages and this people do.
most of the people here are quite unbiased Sorry brother, I am not buying your statement.

'All day' song is by Shankar Mahadevan AND Yuvan Shankar Raja - Santheekam Theernthathaa ? :-)
icekutti,
I also observed the similarity bt. humming in 'kutti kutti' and 'SutRum boomi' songs, Only humming is similar, After that the tune is entirely different., This is a good song if you forget Sadhana Sargam's thamizhillaatha thamizh and disturbing sound of 'too many' drums (or whatever it is)., Nice lyrics by Pa. Vijay for this song !

okay..thats Shankar Mahadevan..Looks like Yuvan wants to have one or two 'Yuvan's songs even if he is not the main singer :) Seriously speaking too, I think Yuvan wants to put his stamp by taking participation in the singing. He surely has a 'ego'/ 'pride'/ 'confidence' :) Initially, I think I was put off by the loud instruments. The album is not bad as I initially thought. Also, most instruments seem to be real live ones. Most of the songs have a 'live' feel/flow to them. They dont sound synthetic or overworked. This I would say is the main strength of Yuvan.
BTW, is there some distortion in the color color and azhagAna sooriyan in the actual CD/tape itself ? I hope it is just raaga.com's encoding.

STS,
u may be somewhat justified about Deva. I know that some singers ( specifically north imported "basically SI" singers) get irritated when deva is not satisfied with some segments of a song and asks them to re-sing. while such singers sit for hours/days together for a single ARR/IR song they dont treat Deva/SAR in the same vein.
they strictly talk on hourly basis and poor deva is sometimes forced to make-do with stuff he isnt happy about. I 've also heard that vasanth and some other directors do research and pre-prepare a cassatte of foreign songs for Deva to remake.
some are blatantly not interested in Deva's experiments/thoughts they want to give their fav. music under his name.
Deva supposedly supports a big family and for "pozhappu" reasons adjusts with this.
He may/maynot be justified in doing so but these r the facts...
on the other topic of sons of fav. MD's even assuming ur thoughts of me as an ARR fan I wud never support ARR's son(in the future) just based on that qualification.
Sunil gavaskar is my most fav cricketer(just like SRT) but i wud anyday vote for S.Ramesh/ S.Sriram against Rohan Gavaskar. :-)
obviously i wud not deride a MD because he is such n such MD's son.

hey guys u seem to have an opinion already made here ...it happens everywheere...keep a person aloof for nothing at all..IR IS A GOD agreed ..no proof needed...ARR whether ppl like it or not..MADE TAMIL MUSIC REACH THE WORLD..IR CUDNT DO THAT ..u can blame it all on the technology and the media available at this moment ...but the truth of the matter is ..IR's music was plain regionalistic...ONLY RECENTLY ppl have become aware of the MASTER'S BGM ABILITIES..HE CAN TAKE ANY SITUATION BY FORCE...ARR ..HAS A HUGE WORLD WIDE APPEAL BECOS OF HIS CATCHY MUSIC...WHEN U SAY IR'S MUSIC IS PLEASANT ..ARR'S MUSIC GROWS ON YOU..IT MAY NOT BE HAUNTING AS IR'S BUT DEFINTELY...THE TUNE U WUD WHISTLE WHEN U FEEL LIKE SINGING....THEY TWO WERE MASTER'S IN THE OWN STYLE..
COMING TO YSR ...HE HAS A COUPLE OF GOOD FILMS TO HIS CREDIT... "TVE" WAS A GOOD ALBUM FORGIVE A COUPLE OF SONGS WHICH HE THINKS ITS WESTERN AND COMPOSED SOME CRAP...
"MTV"..NEITHER GIVES AN IMPRESSION ITS MELODIOUS OR ITS GONNA GROW ON YOU...ITS IS A HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT ....ITS NOT A BIASED OPIIONM ABT SOMEONE..I VERY MUCH LOOKED FORWARD TO THIS ALBUM AND I AM FINALLY DISSAPOINTED..
YSR HAS TO CERTAINLY PROVE HIMSELF...OVERALL THE ALBUM CAN ONLY BE RATED FOR ITS ORCHESTRISATION.........
THANKX...
