Hi! We've made a major addition to newtfmpage, and that is a big song bank. Dhool features thousands of songs for your listening pleasure. This site is a part of the newtfmpage.com - swara.com group. Together with newtfmpage, we wish to make this the best place to listen to tamil film songs online and know about tamil film music. Our collection includes old, new, famous, rare and unheard of songs. We are still fine tuning and fixing the database errors, so please bear with us. We value your feedback, and this will help us build the site better. Please post your comments below or mail to comments@newtfmpage.com.

  A classic! SPB and PS along with MSV take you on a joyful boat ride, smooth surfing,and adventurous bungee jumping in approximately 4 minutes.PS at her best and why I think of " Bavanai kaatinaL " from Sumathi en Sundari?Her voice exhibits unbounded joy.Great singing!SPB......viswantahnukku veRenna vendum?
  
  Saravanan,the number of songs of 1970s actually did help SPB to attempt successfully at improvisations.
  
  Looks like the lyrics written for the preset tune,MSV challenge to Kavignar,when the other song "odam" looks like kavignar's poser to MSV.It is a win-win for the listener.BTW when is "Yarumillai engE"(paNathukkaga) from the same combo due for SOTD?
  
  Acting with Sivakumar must have been a tight-rope walking for Lakshmi--one wrong step she could have been arrested for "eve-teasing" Sivakumar.)) Till date Sivakumar has remained truthful to his principle........he hates "love" whether it is on screen or off.Lakshmi would confirm and now Jyothika would testify!

  Not even the "Vazhaipazham" joke of the other "thillana MohanambaL" could have brought you a more rib tickling moments;Watching Radhika playing the Nagaswaram scenes is just pure fun.))

  In the second stanza, in SPB portion,there's a word 'pOraatti' and it goes like '.... pOraattip pEsattumE'. A few years after the film was released, someone asked Kannadasan, "Isn't it blatantly wrong? It should be 'paaraatti' as there's no word called 'pOraatti' in Tamil". He replied "enakku ithu kooda theriyaathaa? orukkaal en kuRippeduppavar thavaRizhaiththu vittaarO? theriyavillai!" Clearly not a convincing reply from a poet of his calibre!

  At last Kaadhal Vilayada made the SOTD list ;-). As OISG mentioned this song is pure joy ride. SBP sounds absolutely alive (with an extra shot of glucose), while PS is wonderful as usual. MSV & KD what creativity! Wonderful, Wonderful!

  Wonderful song "Kaathal Villaiyada". the ease and perfect modulation and rendentation of PSuseela is amazing. With tender voice, SPB brought the emotions out well. MSV's choice of singer for any particular song is amazing. It is a good team work.

  kaadhal viLaiyaada... a very lively and enjoyable song! I posted the movie version of Odam kadalOdum (with MSV humming at the beginning) in PS group only yesterday! That is another lovely song!
  
  Two days back Pandit (Santoor/Guitar) Visweswaran (Husband of Chithra Visweswaran, nephew of GNB, he has worked with RDB, MSV and others) gave a special thEn kiNNam in Jaya TV. He talked in length about his first hand experience seeing MSV's song recordings in the 60s, and also about various artistes who worked with MSV. I made two mp3. A treat for MSV fans...

  is simialar to the lines in "my name is billa"
  "nee kondu vanthaya naan kondu vanthenna selvam"
  
  the high "Maaaaannil varrum" and the low "thangaa malargal"... as usual SPB rocks :).

  1. The Pushpalatha song used to be played quiet ferquently too. As a Small kid my preference was that song (1973/74 - Virudhunagar memories. Unfortunately I was too young to hunt for Burma kadais)
  
  2. The fantastic Kadhal Vilayada matches with the jestful 'Yaarumillai Enge' of Panathukkaga by the same combo. Saravanan if possible can we have the Panathukkage song..

  Thanks for bringing my school days memories back to me. when i hear kadhal vilayada all the sweet memories of my oor comes flooding back to me. I still remember myself and my friend Abdul Wahid getting so impressed with the way the other song 'odam kadlodum' got picturised.We were only 16 then, and we marvelled at the way the hero and heroine singing the song without touching each other.we appreciated the decent way that song was picturied.
  keep up ur good work Sravanan. remember u bring smiles to thousands when u bring their childhhod memories back.

  yes this is sujatha.As u said "shenbaga poovai parthu" is the best song in the movie.think that one is also by sujatha.Any idea who the lyricist is."shenbaga poovai" tune seems to flow.
