Hi guys,
I am going to india soon.If you want to show your disapproval against ARR's plagiarism please do reply to this new thread which I will eventually print and give it to ARR personally so that he realises that people are not dumb and listen to his fancy copying of music from abroad and boast himself as a musician.
Even his latest much talked "Vande matram" has one songs which has direct lift of a tune from Madonna's latest "FROZEN".
I don't know how he thinks that he can get away with these fancy copying.I think it is time for us to show him that we are not dumb.

Srikanth:
When you say ARR has copied do
you have a written proof
I don't understand what you're
trying to say here. Written proof
for his copying???
this is not a court for me to
prove with documents
You don't have to, if you don't
want to. But when you make such a
statement in a discussion forum like
this, it will be better to come up
with stuff other than hearing bits and pieces
here and there. You might have talked to
someone in the industry and they could've
misdirected you, it's possible too.
if you dont belive me I dont care!
I mean it
I'm believing you or not is not the point,
the number 1000 is too much for me to
agree.
Regarding bringing Raja into the scene - -
I told AR alone does not copy - every one
copies including Raja.
If i'm not wrong, there was a discussion
about all MDs copying from different sources.
I think that thread is in archive now, you
can have a look at it.
A kind request to you: could you get the
list of all his jingles from someone in
the industry? Say it will take 5 years or so,
still i can wait to get that.

Ravi, there is only so much one can sit back and refrain from stuff. Look at the number of topics that are basically fan-club flag waving or birthday wishing. What kind of discussions do these generate? After the amazing number of repeated threads about the same old crap (praising one MD dissing one MD), DF still gets new ones that basically address the same old theme. I have tried to bring up other forgotten/old topics that are doing fine without any such temper tantrums.
When I see blatant bias passing as objective opinion I do step into the fray. I can't understand how people can ask why Srikanth brought IR into the discussion. Why do you think? Look at the topic "ARR's Plagiarism". What is inherent in this topic when ARR is singled out as a copier? Srikanth had a sincere and topical reaction that ARR should not be singled out. Come on folks, when you create a fire be prepared for the backlash.
Ravi, if you care about the integrity of the DF then you should mandate how many potentially combustible threads can be started at any given time. If not then this is what you get.

Unfortunately Mr.Srikanth ran away. I would have loved to ask him about ARRs bass scores. Why ? Because he ruined my hobby with Humma Humma and Oorvasi. That's why. Piece of junk is our Mr.ARR

I must say all this animation is quite stimulating notwithstanding the few incorrigible trouble-makers.Especially considering that the topic was so moronic to start with,I mean the original poster probably does not know that apart from the fact that Rahman is far too busy to bother with disgruntled listeners,he also goes around with a couple of bodyguards who may not take too kindly to grotesquely incorrect accusations of the VM-is-copied-from-Frozen sort.
About the exact no. of jingles Rahman has composed the argument seems wilfully perverse.Does it matter? He's done a great many,500 was the figure I've read, thats good enough, demanding that Srikanth produce a list is plain ridiculous.Who documents ads/jingles,come on!
About Rahman's production style, its true that I've observed some sibilance(referred to as pisiru by you guys) on some records, on VM for eg. in Masoom/Musafir.Its something he maybe ought to work on.But if you find his mixing etc chaotic or unclear, let me bring in a fresh perspective. In many musical circles today noise is deliberately cultivated for eg. in rock, grunge etc. for noise is seen as being rebellious, youthful, exciting. Also there are trip-hop albums like Portishead which are very exquisitely produced but use very audible vinyl hiss, clicks and pops as a sort of post-modern statement,as a legitimate component of the album's sound-world.And believe me it sounds great.Rahman has done clarity(rasathee) and he has done chaotic(Columbus),its largely intentional I believe.

Sreeni, thanks for a thoughtful, relevant contribution with a fresh perspective. Wow, just when this thread was stinking up to high heaven too.
I know what you mean about grunge music and the intentional scratches, but do you think ARR intentionally adds noise in his recordings? I think his recordings are all pretty clean, soundwise.

Hi guys,
The topic was not to compare IR and ARR and neither about all the other stuff like CD recording...
I don't hear much western music. But when I heard "Deep Forest" it had the same bit which ARR used for his thilana thilana song.Don't you guys think that is bad? Moreover ARR says in VM that his songs had "inherent soul" in it.Enna soul enna ezhavo.Getting "inspired" from others and giving statements like this is not good.He can't fool everybody.
Moroever sometimes he cribs if his album fails to make a hit on the director saying that it was not well picturised.
I like his music too.But I don't want him to take bits from others and make it so obvious. What I feel is that he will gradually loose his originality and starts to think that if he takes few bits here and there(which usually gives him a hit----porbably somebody might soon find the latest "JEans" flicked from some other albums.)and give a hit.By that way he will loose all his talent will soon end up as "International Deva"

Hey I thought of not talking again , but one person afraid to put his name - calls himself Buddy, (must be wearing a thick Soda B.Specs I think! ) Starts accusing me as Sick Kanth - ThanX a lot for the nick Name!,
Ravi DaDa what is this - things are going too personal. I am sure Buddy does not know music at all.

Hey, Buddy
I have eagerly consumed your review of 'Dharma', but...
...while your eagerly anticipated review of 'Dharma' is a joy to the soul and I have read with ecstatic reverence not only at the new Dharma thread that has just started dangling here, but also at the 'IRs New Albums! I must admit, Dharma is all over. I can't wait to buy the album.
However those good points you earned is now lost with the name calling of Srikanth. Ithu Nyayama, Dharmama, Sir? Srikanth, easily one of the few connoisseurs of good music and a fair critic, is by known for his unbiased approach to viewing the contributions of our illustrious composers. As I see Srikanth, if he sat on a See-Saw, the See will be on the same level as the Saw, provided IR fanatics like you and me did not sit on the Saw!
Buddy;) this is heated discussion, but let us not discourage the continuum of our reverebrating thought on IR, ARR, ARR, IR, etc...

Guys - please cool down.
As a "veteran" TFM-DF poster, I would like to request everyone here to maintain their dignity when posting in this forum. Please do not descend to name-calling. And if someone else does that to you, don't respond. Just "pooh-pooh" them away.
As for the author of this thread, and some others who hate ARR and his music, why don't you just ignore him and his songs? Surely, that would be the best form of protest.
On the other hand if your intention is to expose the ARR-fans to (real, authentic, original) IR music, certainly you can't do this by putting down another individual.
Let me repeat this, Music is not a religion, nor a cause; it is solely for our enjoyment.
Thank you for your patience.
