To prove a point, I took that IP address from Stayinvisible.com after seeing someone using that IP address to post nasty messages. I know who posted those nasty messages jacky. When used that tool the log file contained jacky's IP address. He is playing Jekyl and Hyde you better watch out that guy.

Magix, i accept ur point that ARR fans most of them like me are Musically-illiterates......but who wants literacy in everything......
1.All windows users know VC++ or wat???(i think windows os coding is done in vc++,if wrong pls correct me)....
2.All ppl. who watch cricket are not sachin tendulkars
3.All ppl. who enjoy ur mom's food, do u really help her cook???
see, boss if all users can write VC++ codes, if everyone can bat like sachin and everyone can cook like one's own mom then who will use Windows, who will watch cricket, who will eat the food made in ur house.......
THERE HAS TO BE FOLLOWERS FOR A LEADER,
THERE HAS TO BE FANS FOR A MUSICIAN AND NOT MUSICAL COMPATRIOTS FOR A MUSICIAN.......

and more importantly it is sounds that define music.....sound quality and various little cheeky sounds in ARR's songs are his strength.......his sound output is so superior to IR.......IR's songs are the worst processed songs......even YSR is better than his dad in this matter....

Maddy:
Life is an evolution. Likewise music evolved with technology. When IR introduced stereo it used to be a big thing because only Hindi songs were using that technology that time. IR broke that barrier and made people to listen tamil songs when the trend was to listen to Hindi songs was a fashion. Then ARR broke that barrier and introduced high tech recording to make all india listen to his music. So we have to appreciate every one from A to Z to make this evolution happen.

You cannot divert the issue by claiming yourself as a victim. I don't what you are blabbering about but one thing I know that your IP was found in the log file. I am going to send that log file to tfm admin so that he can take the judgement of banning you or not. Once again I took this IP like you from stayinvisible.com so that I could tear the mask of your face. Don't live double life. Be man and face the problems.

Maddy,
Wasn't that my point? :) We listen to music w/ our heart. And that's why Rahman's music appeals to us. It's got a kinda hook that jus pulls u right in.
Mebbe it's got to have something to do w/ his endearingly honest and straight-forward approach to music, and obviously.. his genius! :)
But naan solla vandhadhu was, let everyone have their opinion. Namba avangala convert pannanam-nu avasiyam illai. Yaaravadhu edhavadhu rude-a sonna, namba adhukku adha vida rude-a respond pannanum-niyum avasiyam illai.
As for sound processing, u can't blame IR. For a guy who's been composing from the 70's.. u can't expect him to be up-to-date w/ all the latest technology (KR helps him out majorly here..).
If there's one aspect of IR's music I'm not really fond of, it's his singer selection. Especially the chorus gang. They have this amazing knack of spoiling the best of his compositions!
But neways, jus nitpicking each MD's faults is not gonna get us newhere! {I get this strange feeling I'v stirred up a hornet's nest here. Why do I have to be so serious when it's early morning?:) }

Exactly my point,magix...... DUNT COMPARE IR AND ARR,SIMPLE.......y place ARR below IR always???as far as i know, ARR is sound based, IR is raaga based person.....ARR sounds good and gr8, IR's tunes are soul-stirring......it is like comparing Idli and Pizza......obviously we southies like Idlis and we prefer that but Y DUNT WE DEVELOP THE MATURITY TO PLACE PIZZA IN A DIFFERENT LAYER IN OUR LIFE, instead of criticising Pizza for idli.....i think i need to grab my brk fast......
(while criticising IR's sound quality, i have to appreciate his "Elangaathu" song from "pithamagan" which was of a superior sound quality......

enna magix...appo IR fansukku idhayame illaiynu solla variyaa :-)) i think musical knowledge is usually a sufficient condition to pick IR over ARR (if it comes to that) but it is not a necessary condition...

Digression.
Vagabond,
May be its your style to divert attention after creating havoc by being a heavy imposter.
I know you got nothing to complain, if you still wanna do you know who to contact.
I wrote a mail to bb the day i got that mail (admin@newtfmpage.com - enjoy your screen saver) and the case is closed. I have no fear to pretend.
Since i copied and pasted about your proxy ip from google you want to attack me, i don't care.
face problems? i have my ip visible all the times unlike you.
I am not going to reply you any further, if you want to take anything to Admin, do it, stop paralyzing threads.
END.

Magix,
"The basic differentiation between ARRFs and IRFs when it comes to newtfmpage is...
Musical Knowledge.
Another important factor is age, but let's not delve into that.. :)"
Well, i dont think thats a correct point. Lot of people, who love IR, including me are not that old :)
The folks who can actually differentiate one raga from another and launch into superb observations of musical nuances, tend to choose IR coz of the sheer quantity of brilliant work in carnatic based melodies and (i wanted to avoid this!!) more probably coz they belonged to that generation. I mean, IR's not called a living legend for nothing!
Your observation, here is also off mark. His music is a combination of both WCM and ICM.( I will call it a a new form of music, which he is profound at :). From counterpoints to toccotta, to "you name it in WCM , he's got it. His composition so far shows it. Have you not read so many postings about his orchestration capabilities, where not a single word about the carnatic raaga usage was uttered. The "Ennulle Ennulee " song is a clear pointer again.
Plus , i also read some where about the chorus spoiling his songs. I guess you are not a listener to his yester year songs, or as a matter of fact, the recent ones. Anjali had terrific chorus usage. For a broader perspective about his chorus usage, please listen to "Andhi Mazhai", thats the pinnacle of chorus usage.(This is a small pointer i am giving you, If you want more, i can go on and on...).
Plus, its only after a song that emotionally affects you, you begin to dig deeper about the nuances of the composition and not vice versa. Its same whether you listen to IR/ ARR or as a matter of fact, to any other composer's composition. Listening with out prejudice helps us to enjoy the music made by all these guys :).

I bought a cd Raja's Inisairaagams yesterday.
Its amazing how the guy can make soulful interludes escpially the Veena work in Thakida takime thandana - Salangai oli, the emotion lingers in your heart for a very long time.
I also found the song pongatru poyalanathu - Mundram Pirai, the begining sounds like a mystical journey (guitar and flute) though it has nothing to do with the context, it stands out and is amazing.
Also the song Germanyil which begins with a trumpet - i guess, has some fantastic notes.
IR still composes songs very fast, sometimes it becomes mundane.
Do IR fans want him to still compose songs like Kodiyethi vaipom - Pithamagan? he has done it so many times already.
He can work on unexplored Genres of music. I have Hey ram in my playlist not Friends or any masala movie he recently scored.
ARR takes more time but he is certain to get a output that is fresh, almost everytime.
