sung by PBS; lyrics are presumably by KD? The lyrics are generally excellent except for this one line - may be it makes sense given the story/situation? Anyone know??

my question is 'manamirundhaal paravai kooTil maangaL vazhalaam' makes no sense. is this literary allusion/tied to the situation in the film/???

Manisegaran: Looking at the VCDs on tamilshop.com, there's a Rani Samyuktha listed *ing MGR & Padmini. Is this the samyuktha-prithviraj chauhan story in which prithviraj dies? If it is, did they not show MGR dieing in the movie?

Who wrote the lyrics for this song? What a fantastic way of writing. When I listened to these words, I guessed it was written by Kannadhasan. Only kannadhasan(may be Vali) can write like this.

Vels: For a 32kpbs version, the song ('kanni nadhiyoram') sounds very noisy. Probably the sound card worries are not over yet..

Thanks for the feedback. I went to my Computer vendor(technician) and he suggested me to change sound card. So, I bought the new one. But, I think still there is problem. I will discuss with the computer technician to find out where exactly the problem is. Thanks again for the feedback.

Yes SK. I just picked randomly three songs for encoding. But, you are right. It indeed reflects a "Love" moood.

Was listening to the song 'pathumai thaanaa' from koodi vaazhnthaal kodi nanmai. I think it's a tamil version of 'nakrewali' (kishorek). The yodelling is tamil version is quite nicely done. The singer is, surprise, PBS..! Any more details on this movie/song?

Watched 'aah'(rajkapoor and Nargis)today. I understand this is the first hindi film to be directly dubbed in tamil('avaN'). ITs a film worth watching. Excellent performances by Nargiz and Rajkapoor and greatttttttttttttttt songs.
'raja ki aayegi baraat'(kalyana oorvalam varum)
and 'aajare ab mera dil pukaara'(en anbae unai azhaikkum) are cream of the crop. Latas voice pierces your heart especially in 'aajare ab meraa'.
Same cannot be said about Jikkis voice(she sang the tamil version). Somehow her voice is not as effective as Latas though AMRaja was equally good as Mukesh. Janaki would have done more justice to the song(especially the humming part).
(Probably janaki wasnt around that time as the movie was released in 1950)
Even the lyrics(hasrat jaipuri and shailendra) were better in hindi than in tamil(lyricist?).
My mom said Latha got her first national award for 'raajaki aayegi' and she 200% deserves it.
A film not to be missed.
