New Page for Rare Hits of Ilayaraaja

I have put up a new webpage with rare hits collection of Maestro Ilayaraaja. I will try to put those songs that are either not commonly found nor available in other TFM pages. Please visit:

  1. Naan Thedum Sevanthi Poo song is available in many links under TFM page.
  2. Megam Karukuthu is also found in some links, but is not so common. So I will definitely upload it within a day or two.

  One of the GREATEST SONGS OF RAAJA -- Athi Kaalai Nerame from MEENDUM ORU KAATHAL KATHAI (Starring: Charuhaasan, Prathap Pothen, Radhika) is uploaded. Please check it out. I love this song like anything. I used to listen to this song at least 20 times continuously whenever I play this song. What a tune.......what a melody....Raaja, SPB, Janaki....everyone at their best....
  I hope that one of the greatest hits of yesteryears would not go unnoticed at TFM.
  I would love to see the comments from other Raaja fans regarding this song and other songs found in the website.

  My sincere thanks to each and every one of you are always `hitting' on to this wonderful page of rare hits. Shortly, I will be unravelling more of Raaja's rare hits from films like NAAN POTTA SAVAL, MANJAL NILA, POONTHALIR & NIRAM MAARATHA POOKAL. In fact most of these film titles are by themselves not too familiar to many Raaja fans. Uploading these songs take some time, because I am trying to remove as much noise as possible, from these songs.
  There is yet a lot more stuff to be uploaded. Slowly, but steadily, I will be doing that.

  I tried Melur Maaman in MP3 (waited 20 mins for download -Thank god today is a holiday ) and the quality is excellent ! ! THis song has catchy beats and very nice interludes.. the lyrics are'nt very good, but this song is sung in the slums ( believe me I had the mis fortune of watching this junk movie ).

  I was little bit worried about how TFM fans would receive the stuff that I am calling as a `rare-hit'. I was having a lot of doubts when I was uploading songs like "Melur Maaman", "Jingan Jinuku Thaan", etc. But I had the confidence in Raaja's beats and musical interludes.
  I am very confident that if Raaja's fans have the opportunity to listen to his songs in HIGH QUALITY recording, surely they will appreciate ALL his songs. That is why I am taking pains to refine almost every song that I am uploading in Real Audio format.
  I took your suggestion very seriously and that is why I have uploaded one song in MP3 format. I will try to upload other good songs in MP3 format. But the pace will not be as much as for the Real Audio ones,as my primary target is 28.8 Modem users. But MP3 songs will be uploaded at a slower pace. As you had suggested in your e-mail, Raaja fans can download the files regularly.
  I will definitely get in touch with you, whenever I need some help on this.

  Any comments about "Poon Thendral Kaatre Vaa Vaa" from MANJAL NILAA. The starting music itself is so soft. What about those 2 great BGMs in this song? Simply superb. Raaja just plays with his flute in this song. I am not sure about how many of you have listened to this song before. I had a difficult time in getting this song when I was in Coimbatore.

  manjal nila came in 1982.
  niram maaraadha pookkal in 1979.
  meendum oru kaadhal kadhai in 1985. (what a song, man!!! i remember the number of shops in madras i went to before finally getting that song)
  koyil kaalai in 1994.
  indru nee nalai naan in 1984.

  Again, thanks. I recorded Poo Thendral Kaatre Vaa, one of the romantic number of Jayachandran. It is a rare slow numbers of IR.

  Thanks for pointing out the exact years of release for certain movies. As far as the films you have mentioned, I should acknowledge that they are rare,but are commonly available at Ramaswamy Gireesan's page and at mailbag page, both the links are available under Audio section in TFM page.
  As regards to other songs that other fans have listed in this page, I will try to upload them immediately, if I have them. Or else it might take some more time for me to upload them. As far as songs like "Alagaga Sirithathu undan nilavu"(even I tried getting this song, but in vain)and others like "engum niraindha", I am feeling sorry that I am not having those songs with me. But still, I will try my best asking some of my friends over here and once I get it, I will upload it. Keep browsing and thanks to all of you.
  I am very happy that "Athi Kaalai Nerame" has become a instant hit of this page.

  pEsu en anBe is from the movie VIDIYUM VARAI KAATHIRU. It is Song#5 in the page. One of the great songs of Raaja. Listen to the way how the song goes. It has melody, romance and what not.

  Pesu En Anbe brought back old memories to me (When I used to be Ardent Cinemagoer).

  two female singers - Vattathukkul sadhuram (I couldn't recollect the starting line)
  
  En ketkirathu - rosAppu ravikkaikari(I love the flute interlude before "en manam gangayil sangamikka..." A great one by vAni jayaram)
  mAman oru naal - rosAppu ravikkaikari
  
  en dhEgam amudham - oru Odai nadhitagirathu (IMO, one of the best "viragadhaba paadal" by SJ)
