  GUys, my biggest fear/worry is that IR should not get embroiled in a big money scandal thru' TiS - because the whole thing sounds so blo*dy unprofessional, HCIRFans like me would not ever want IR getting infamy from fund collection endeavors for his project - there are better ways of doing it

  You can't meet the Maestro true ofcourse,.........Raajangahm is run under the ilayaraajas direct control by the well known ilayaraaja fan prasad, Guru madhavan and those on intenet know them for many years. Maestro ilayaraaja fans club has met Father jegath directly in his Maestros house where Maestro has said with promise that Thiruvasakam ins symphony will be released by himself. We are still waiting for curtain raisers in Television as the episodes are in production. Its your wish to go to the depth to analyse about the project and organisation. If you are interested or not interested nobody asks any one with compulsion for donation. Those who are interested pay their respects to ilaiyaraaja as money. Despite all Fr.Jegath is a very professional guy with great respect for Tamil and Maestro and its our attitude that whenever people come down from their grades (priest to organising music concert)we suspect. The same the case still educated tamils still hold ilayaraaja as "Film music composer and always keep maestro below chemangudi or Bala murali. Dont wantto compare maestro is far ahead as far as artistic music is concerned

  Attempts to do this project in a professional way did nt turn up great was one of the greatest reason. As far as i heard Fr.Jegaths critical trip to Europe to get the help of London tamil people didnt turn effective. The only way is fans . Fans can make it possible. Maestro never believes in any. He knows he is marketable in Tamil nadu and says "enakku than thalaivargal en rasigargal avar virumbum varaiyil virundhu padaypen".

  Whoever posted the rajaangham link above, thank you so much. Glad to see that rajaangham folks have quickly acknowledged(officially) this project. This will certainly make few more fans happy. As 'an' said, as long as the fans support such initiative, no commercial pressure can win.

  everything will happen according to divine plan. anxiety or overenthusiasm can cause problems. those who can support from the heart and with money support it generously, those who will not cannot, those who cannot will not, those who will can will; those who can can will will.... it is like that.
  
  i for one has no means now, but i know when i can i will generously, it is not a question of will i will will (support or not), it is can i can can?
  
  this is a project from the heart and soul of the Maestro, only way it can go is all over everywhere - that is if IR will release it for public consumption and not just perform with the orchestra and put it on a tv program (like Miss World) that is the only doubt i have so far considering Moods of Ilayaraaja (which is only on mention at Guitar Prassanna site), First Symphony, etc...

  This is Maestro ilayaraaja fan club link and this is the place the club members have met maestro and father jegath is also there. The club is higly respected and recognised by maestro and maestro had patiently answered their questions for one hour. The meeting was arranged by Father jegath. I have already donated for the charity cause of tamil music more than that it comes from maestro and ofcourse no one is going to do as does maestro. Therefore im not interested in $5 scheme. However i belive these usa folks because of all reasonable posting above. There is no other go other than fans because people have forgotten the ilayaraaja of the past. Few more of "Pithamagan" Type historical movies are required to bring back the popularity for the maestro so that things may be carried out professionally. If its Ar Rahman at this juncture many audio companies would have come forward to take the deal. Business is business. I personally dont want maestro to have agreements with audio companies for projects like this. Tamil maiyam the new novice face to tamil nadu can be given a chance.
  
  Its also better to go for the $5 plan with trust on the fans of maestro rather than going behind the NRI busines tamils who have poor concern to acknowledge great projects. Maestro should have felt that atleast his fans would do something for what he gave for the past 25 years. I would mean he got his salary too but its comaparitively less than what business goes on today. Thiruvasakam cant be made as a whole of business. the only business part would be to get as much money as possible because it has been decided by the maestro that the proceeds from the project will go towards establishing music schools in india which teach the indian tradtional music.

  Tamil maiyam is trustable organisation now so people may get their doubts clarified by emailing father jegath directly. I cant say about trusting the usa tis group but you can clarify by emailing to tamil maiyam cause i have explained everything and i know very well "Thiruvasakam in symphony is all set to be released and its going to make a history. But Mr.Srithar seetharaman is known to many fans on internet.
  
  Last but not least i'm not intesrested in $5 Scheme personally being maestro ilayaraaja because
  
  1. I have already contibuted a solid amount
  
  2. I'm not interested in $5 scheme.Since i have said Father jegaths trip to uk was a failure the next option is usa.
  
  Fans are expected to contribute but no one is here to compel.

  It is heartening to see all these positive mails and thanks to the various view points expressed in this thread. Healthy discussions are always a sure way to positive outcome! Our sincere thanks to '%&','will'& 'an'. From the beginning it was IIR's personal wish to do THIS one thru his fans and that's why with his blessings the US team started this. Of course, as '%&' said very correctly, except for Sridhar Seetharaman, we, the other two, are not well-known to the regular fans-on- the -net, but that's because I[SK] have been a silent admirer of IIR and when an opportunity presented itself, as correctly said by Mr.'will', the WILL paved the way for the subsequent developments and here we are requesting all the US IIR Fans to send $5 in favor of TiS, which, as said earlier, will NEVER be handled by any one of us other than forwarding it to Tamil Maiyam, only to keep track of all the US collections. We thank all of you for correctly bringing out the spirit behind this project and how WE can make it happen.
  Yesterday, when I went to meet with a local restaurant owner in connection with TiS, he greeted me saying that Mr. Gangai Amaran spoke to him about this last week when he was in India and Mr. GA also requested him to do one's best to help this project come thru! I am sharing this info. as promised earlier in these columns that I will keep this thread updated with every positive details. Thank you all!

  1. That "I am new to IIR fans"
  Just want to remind you that Hanuman comes only in the last two thirds of rAmAyaNam! Even better, that little sqirrel comes much later! I am just a servant interested in this cause and am positive that IIR is the MAN to do this
  2. "Why approach the fans and not the corporates?"
  Just now read somewhere the following words: 'aRindhavarkaLidam kEttAl adhu urimai; aRiyAdhavarkaLidam kEttAl adhu picchai." All you fans are 'aRindhavarkaL' IIRai!!
