  IR has composed lot of songs in 'Maya malava gowlai'
  
  Some are
  masaru ponne varuga-devar magan
  kuyila pudicchu-chinna thambi
  kathal kavithaigal paditthidum neram-kobura vasalile

  A rare raga. TO my knowledge IR has 3 songs in it. ANd these seem to be the only songs in this ragam.

  All the above songs are beutifully composed.
  
  The following song seems to be in malayamaarutham. It seems to be a close cousing of raika ranjani. I think malayamaarutham sans "ni" is rasika ranajani.

  Coming to Malaya maarudham:
  
  To my knowledge there a few song in malayamaarudham in TFM.
  
  (1) kaNmani nee vara kaaththirunthen
  
  The first of its kind in a limited number of songs that IR has composed in this ragam. The flute pieces are beautiful.

  The rhythm of this song is probably the only one of its kind in the TFM.

  IT was mentioned above. Hss a great guitar usage.
  
  Other than these songs, in MFM there ar many. the song I am giving below has a speciality. It has been "inspired" from "aasai athigam vechchu". But the tune is set in malayamaarutham ( I guess)

  do you have any particular songs in mind? If you are referring to some songs that are suddenly missing from the classical IR page, I have just moved them to some other page, that is all. Otherwise I don't remove any songs from my pages.

  Another ragam which has been sparingly used in the TFM. Most of the compositions have come from IR. Any further appreciation may seem like adulation and hence I shall resort to just a list of songs and minimal description.
  
  The raga's aarohanam itself sounds like a song:
  
  s g r g m n p m n n s
  
  and this makes the raga sound a bit repetitive in all the songs we have heard.
  
  (1) Chinnak kaNNan azaikkiraan
  
  The first of its kind in TFM. Sung individually by BMK and SJ. the SJ's version is the pathos version. Has screeching violins in SJ's version. BMK's version is more adorable.
  
  (2) thalaiyaik kuniyum thaamariyE:
  
  A beautiful love duet sung by SPB and another lady singer.

  (3) Raaman kathai kELungaL:
  
  Set in the mood of kathaakaalekshEbam. This song is wonder from SPB with his expressiveness ebing unmatchable. From the film - chippikkuL muththu. only the telugu version coudl be linked to:

  (4) Meettaatha oru veenai:
  
  Hariharan and Mahalakshmi. It is rumoured that HH took 7 or more hrs to record the song. the thaalam is a 5 beat mode and the interludes are just beautiful. This is probably the only song which seems to sound different form other songs in the same raga.

  (5) azagaana raakshasiye:
  
  Once again SPB but the ecomposer is ARR. A beautiful song but (3) is the best rendition by SPB.
  
  Groping mindlessly in the semiclassical sections of some MFM pages, I stumbled yesterday on two songs yesterday set in the same ragam:
  
  (1) PranathOsmi Guruvaayupureesam - MD - Sharath - Film - Sindhoora Rekha - Singer - KJY:
  
  All the songs in this film are great. In fact this song is but lack lustre, though is definitely not entirely dry.

  there is another notation for Reethigowlai's ascending and descending scales :

  Thanks for the links you have provided for the 2 mal. songs. Frankly, I think KJY has spoiled the 2nd song. The first one was a lot better.

  I was wrong in the aarohanam. IT was a typo. sorry.
  
  RR seems to have been not so impressed with the first but ok with the second :-) The excitement I had about these two songs is that I stumbled on them the same day. This is not a common ragam in both tfm and mfm.
  
  What I am trying here is to provide give a gist of some songs set in same raga wit some examples from other languages too. thx for stopping by.

  The song in ratchakan is in the raagam hemavati(58)with touches of hameer kalyani.
  Vennilave Vennilave(MK)is in keeravani -- parts of it also resemble kaapi(when G3 creeps in).

  what's the raga of the song 'nee partha parvaikkoru nanri' from hey ram. i tried to play it in the KB and based on the second part of the swara sequence, it should be one ( or a janya ) of the following... charukesi, ragavardhini, vagulabaranam.
  what's the raga of the song 'oru ganam oru yugamAga' from nadodi thenral... i think 'its a janya of dheera sankarabaranam.
