  Long time, no see!! How r u? I quite often visit newtfmpage but i have restricted myself from posting! Once or twice, here and there, i posted but not like past. Actually ur question to me made to think WHY IS IT SO??!! May be i will do some postings often!!!:)

  Speaker...r u refering to shankarabharanam or sindhu bhairavi...sindhu bhairavi has come out beautifully in many of his compositions..in the charanams of "muthu mani maalai" from 'chinna kounder', when the charanams end, the lines "lesa dhegam soodera" bring out the essence of sindhubhairavi grammar (Ri2 Ga2 Ri1 Sa)..'aatama sadhiraatama' & 'vidiya vidya nadanam' are very fast paced, offbeat usages of the same ragam...more later :-)

  I am tryign to study teh composign pattern of IR using Vel's excel sheet and some statistic analysis...so please help me guys....

  Athoram kathoda pallavi is pukka Mohanam which has been classified under s. Dhanyasi.Of course there are changesin charanam

  Thanks for pointing out that shruthibedham mistake..it sounds indeed mohanam, more than S.Dhanyasi. Have also tried to take off some repetitions...revisit the link given in my last post...i am happy that i have started receiving some feedback now..

  Trust me Paran, there is full possibility of losing ur mind & going nuts, when involved in research..i can vouch for that, as that is my profession [(market research :-)]...but every project is a challenge, to ur mind...Paran, this project too involves awesome amount of research, but i am sure you will definetly come up with some insights..just get going :-)

  1. abt your research..there is some site in geocities, which has a listing by Film News Anandan on IR's releases. This list has the movie names in Tamil. If you google for Film News Anandhan you may get it.
  If you dont get that list, goto step 2
  2. Regarding year of release, www.intamm.com has listing of all tamil films since 50s-1992. Copy IR's 1000 best songs file into notepad. Copy this intamm list into notepad. Write a parser program which reads from both files and updates the movie
  list!!(manually updating is tedious), this method is fun :-)))) been working on the prog but stopped due to lack of time :)

  Getting date of release is bit tough, i tried it :) Got DOR for all rajni/sivaji/prabhu releases. YOR is much easier.
  FN Anandhan's list may be only upto 98. For IR's 98-03 film list, goto IR's new albums thread and follow all the old responses - there are only 458 sub-threads so you have to click on Old Responses only 458 times to get those movies :)

  but still there are some movies missing from raaga.com..

  Paran, "real salute" is a documentary running 15 minutes or so, released for republic day. It had Kiran Bedi in it. There is this song "amma aagaayam vittu" rendered by IR...set in charukesi.
