  why not, be happy i am just trying to prove majority of media are giving bad reviews instead of starting rubbish threads -atleast in two of them yours in the first response giving encouragement to people who start such threads.if you, in all your infinite wisdom ,refrain from doing that then you can complain about me!

  about VM and ARR,they have now formed a symbiotic association.when VM complained to ARR in KK function about his lyrics getting submerged in ARR's music,he was dropped like hot potato-and look at what happened to thenali.he realised without ARR he is not going to have much hits.ARR realised that VM's lyrics were one of the main reasons for HIS success-both of them went crawling to each other.

  IR can write decent poetry-just listen to idhayam oru kovil before commenting.he has done atleast 4 books with pudhukkavidhai and apparently can quote effortlessly from tamil literature.

  pls make up ur mind. i can't criticise u cos i'm not very wise myself. but then jus cos u were not wise before, doesn't mean u can't criticise me now. Oh ok, i get it now. The double standards tat HCIRFs are renowned for.

  Have these people heard of SUBTLETY? If Sivaji has been accused of overacting, a certain MD has also been accused of overMD-ing!
  The idi-minnal-violins BGM is what some people expect and is not necessarily the correct or only BGM.

  Thadi eduthavan ellaam thandakkaran aagida mudiyaathu. Just because he has written one or two songs with tolerable lyrics, does not make him a kavignan.

  Well said. Also can you please tell somebody NOT to sing unless he has the voice for it. With a voice like chalk against blackboard, he has screeched in so many songs. :)

  not true.. a lot of songs in kadhalan are not VM's. it was quite popular. Vm is just a bonus. he is not a neccesary and sufficient condition for ARR (or for that matter IR's success)
  
  anyway ananda vikatan has given 49/100 for KM. So far among all reviews received
  
  1) Hindu- review overall excellent movie
  
  2)kumudam - basically put KM next to god
  
  3) A.vikatan : again top of the line review.
  
  4) dinamani: yes some critisism... but overall good review( the propaganda abt dinamani review tearing apart KM is nonsense...) in anycase dinamani is a 3rd rate newspaper.. I just mentioned it bcoz of the propaganda.
  
  5) rediff: excellent review.. true to their anti-south bias it got little mention.
  
  6) times of iNdia: excellent review .. but trashed ARR bgm
  
  so all in all the alite commnity and people who have good taste in watching good movies will like this movie..
  
  people who are btter off listening to deva and watching red can avoid this movie..
  
  again... placing of some songs were wonderful. but bot kannathil..mutham... version looked out of place sort of justified mani's toning down of other 3 songs..
  
  songs werent required in this movie..
  
  Mahesh is 1 guy who deos good BGM stuff. mani can try him for bgm stuff...

  so..if i click that "vimarisanam" link now it takes me to a vague page... it worked for me momentarily today morning!...

  I think kumudam is trying to say the same thing u have said. u may have misunderstood the reviewer!

  i guess kumudam reviewers were very much affected by the tele serials Ramayan and Mahabharath apart from loads and loads of 80s Hindi films, were soga or azhuththamaana scene necessarly and sufficiently mean vayalin alaral only. If their subtlety is on pinching IR(as i assumed) then i guess they are just biased, IR's BGM mostly never have such 1000 violin muzhakkangaL for a sogam or azhuththa scene. if ur understanding on western classical means 1000 violin muzhakkangaL then i pitty you. its equivalent to say that "Carnatic music is just thadharina thadharina nothing useful, complex and creative".

  there is a scene in mudhal mariyadhai-whe aruna knows that sivaji is not her dad.just listen to bgm in that scene-i still remember that after 15 years.very eerie music-no 1000 violins or drums!

  KM HAS HAD THE MOST DISASTOROUS MUSIC SALES FOR ANY MANI RATHNAM MOVIE SO FAR AND MANI HAS OFFERED HIS MUSIC RIGHTS FOR HIS NEXT VENTURE AT HALF THE COST TO OFFSET THE LOSSES AND THERE IS A STRONG RUMOUR THT MANI MAY TURN TO A NEW COMPOSER OR YSR FOR HIS FORTH COMING PROJECT.THE MOVIE IS A BIGGER DISASTER AND AGAIN MANI IS AGAIN PITCHING LOW FOR HIS NEXT MOVIE WHICH HES PRODUCING AGAIN TO HELP THE DISTRIBUTORS COVER THE LOSSES--BY THE WAY THIS NEWS IS FRM ONE OF THE PRODUCTION GUYS

  I think turning up to new guy when a movie music fails to be up to expectation is the stupidest thing!
  Uyire(Dilse) the movie was a flop still the songs are historical! Did ARR turn away from Mani after 2 flop( Iruvar & Uyire )?
  
  KANNATHIL MUTHAMITAL IS A NEW DIMENSION OF MUSIC WHICH PEOPLE ARE NOT USED TO! ARR the best!
  
  Mani-ARR relationship is beyond business sales. ARR is a permanant Citizen in Mani's world!

  i still think you misunderstood the intention of the review comment.
  
  it specifically makes a comment on the lack of dramatics in this movie ..music or acting-wise. It is not a subtle dig at IR because ARR also has done this bayangara-sogam music with violins etc...
  
  its just the convention that has been broken. This convention is not only restricted to hindi movie but also tamil movies...
  
  The appreciation is for keeping this real w/o any dramatics which in my opinion we are guilty of doing it too much in the past. I dont think the MD has much active role because he basically does what the director wants him to do!
