//Its is because of idiots like you, who are best called as "pottai's" because you will cry when someone questions any statement abt IR. That things suck. //

srikanth: let's not bringing in beethovan :-). he could never give up playing the piano. he used to play it even when he was completely deaf, but still could hear it!! (the stands were removed, he would lie down and play HARD and FEEL the music throughout his body. talk about a genius!!)

Dai Bharathu..... (
"From: Bharath (@ oneway.convex.com) on: Fri Aug 17 14:51:10 EDT 2001
//"During msv or RDB times, tracks were recorded as mono tracks only, geniune stereo in tamil was priya"//
I know that there are serious doubts if stereo players were actually available to the general public in msv rdb times. I am not contesting mono tapes being avaiable but I am seriously contesting "mono recording"
//"for example if you close the right channel (atleast in the CD i have), you will not hear the guitar parts"//
the example is a good one !but doesnt address my point! I was not trying to say anything about music composed to exloit the stereo technologies avaiable. But only trying to underscore KB's mention that "they went ahead and recorded it stereo even though the tech was not avaiable"
Again I am not hurrying in like "munthrikottai" to discredit IR. I am very circumspect abt this point But just thought it was worth mentioning anyway! Not taking away the fact that "priya" stry belonged to IR.
//"The song is "Kanmaniyae Kathal Enbathu Karpaniyo" from Arilirinthu Arubathuvarai"//
for what this example was given! FOr the musical score being handwritten!
"
The above was said by you....... kadaisi variyila enna sir solli irukeenga....... ennamo ennaku kaNN theriyalaymula.........kannu theriyatti paravillai... purinchukiramathiri yavathu solla parunga........

priya was the first stereo album in tamil-IR went to singapore for this recording.
i think the first Indian film with stereo was sholay?
By reopening this thread from archives i seemed to have stirred a hornet's nest:-)
I am seeing the equivalent of kozhai adi sandai...
by the way , do you know which are the 3 most discussed songs in all these threads?
tops is andhi mazhai, next is edho moham and thbird is ennulle from valli.
there is a thread called technical aspects of tfm-go and read the entire thread-and look at the quality of postings!
regarding edho moham-RDB was said to have been so impressed with this song -he reportedly said IR has given the 21st century music in 20 th century itself-something about that song must have struck him as experimental.

yaaro - the avarohanam only song that u have mentioned from Sindhu Bairavi - is it "Kaalaivanieeee" ?
iam sure someone would have mentioned this - "Poomaaalaiyee" song - there were some more of this kind from IR.... like "nee partha parvaiku" from Hey Ram....
not sure if we can call this an experiment - choice of Malaysia Vasudevan for Sivaji - it was a perfect fit for Sivaji after TMS....

yaaro & sabesan, 'kalaivaaniyE' was Arohanam only, not avarohanam only.

KORADA,
//"for what this example was given! FOr the musical score being handwritten! "//
now the same statement posted as
//"for what this example was given? FOr the musical score being handwritten? "//
does this now make a difference or do I have to s p e l l it out.
I didnt know for what the song was given by bhagavathar! because I had asked 3 questions and he just didnt say what he was answering?
this is not the first instance where u (delibrately) mis understand other people.
//"Evidence and proof are different. Asking for evidence means *just a question* "//
"asking" itself suggests that its a question.
I dont recall telling evidence and proof are different so I'll file it under your usual twisting fo words (or lying) second instance of a (delib.) misunderstanding.
Srikanth stop being condescending! dont play smart a ss .
//"i have seen this!!..he does write his scores"//
who are you? Have you worked with IR? (again for idiots like sabesan this is just a question because I am asking it)
//"do you know a composer called beethoven"//
why! you dont know him?
//"he does not compete with ARR so dont go into it) "//
unneccessarily bringing in ARR? why do you think IR compares with beethovan?
I am not boasting but I am forced to say this. My article "Christian Gottlob Neefe & Beethovans ", CGN is the person beethovan studied with in bonn before he left to vienna in 1792. I have analyzed the mental stimuli that impacted Beethovan because of his interactions with CGN. The article was published in OSU's Annual psycology journal and I still treasured certain reviews from people who I hold in high esteem.
I respect your opinion so in the same way do not make a mockery of mine!
//"to talk about ir's postives and negatives -- you should know atleast 90% about him and his music you seem to only 0.5%...that too gained from reading few postings here"//
a comment when musically I still have not told 1 negative abt IR!
just your superficial comments about beethovan and your funny reference of the term "musical memory" doesnt fool me that you know anything more than the average joe?
Beethoven developed his notes theoritically, although everyone knows about his ability to reproduce notes mentally. It is just a evolution of his practice with notes that he was able to quickly write(read as develop) notes. It is something like our sub-steps involved in calculating the answer of 7 + 5. (we dont go thro the process of 7 in the hand and 5 in the mind etc) It is so practiced that we race thro the intermediate steps quickly that we think it is memorized, same was the case with beethovan.
plus beethovan has undergone so many facets of musical nirvana that it is not possible for a person to repeat that unless deafness can be simulated.
